The 2024 Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 10 at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles. Jimmy Kimmel returns as host for the fourth time, joined onstage by an all-star list of presenters.
Kimmel previously said he returned to emcee the show partly because he had a feeling a popular movie might be nominated, arguing that it’s easier to joke about something the audience has seen.
“I am sitting in a movie theater watching Barbie and thinking, ‘Well, maybe I’ll do this again, because at least I have a point of reference with everyone,’” he said.
He said he also felt that with Top Gun: Maverick, which landed six Oscar nominations, including a nod for best picture, at the 2023 Oscars: “I knew there was a movie that people had seen, and it just makes the job easier.”

Ever since Mahershala Ali won the 2017 Best Supporting Actor Oscar for “Moonlight” with less than 21 minutes of screen time, the academy has consistently lauded much larger featured male roles, with all of the last half dozen honorees having comfortably surpassed the category’s screen time average. That streak is practically assured to end this year, however, since most of the men currently vying for the prize clock in below average and none of them appear in more than a quarter of their movies.
The 2024 supporting actor nominees have an average screen time of 29 minutes and 36 seconds, or 19.56% of their respective films. While they outpace last year’s group by 42 seconds, they also fall behind them by almost five percentage points. Their physical time average essentially puts them right in the middle of the category’s all-time ranking, while their percentage mean is the 17th lowest ever.

After a rather bumpy start, the winter awards season returned to smoother, more pleasurable sailing at the 29th Critics Choice Awards. Veteran host Chelsea Handler’s opening monologue was sharp and celebratory rather than condescending and snide. While not every single joke packed a comedic wallop, she clearly had the audience on her side and set the tone for an upbeat telecast. The pro didn’t overstay her welcome, either, occasionally returning after a commercial break with sharp, brief introductory quips.
See 2024 Critics Choice Awards: Complete winners list in all 41 categories
Most powerfully, after she observed that 2023 was a bona fide year of women, Handler appropriately used her post to welcome to the spotlight Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, who had won for Best Comedy Film for “Barbie” off-air and therefore didn’t get the chance to deliver a proper acceptance speech. It was a moment that demonstrated how a good host should function,...

Barbenheimer kicked off when both Greta Gerwig‘s “Barbie” and Christopher Nolan‘s “Oppenheimer” were released in theatres on the same day last year on July 21. However, the fun-spirited, lighthearted rivalry between the Warner Bros. comedy and the Universal biopic has continued into this awards season. Both “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” have often been the most nominated films at various awards groups and two performers have found themselves head to head in pretty much every precursor so far: supporting players Robert Downey Jr. and Ryan Gosling.
Downey Jr. plays scheming politician Lewis Strauss in “Oppenheimer” and produces a thoughtful, fierce performance as the film’s primary antagonist. Gosling, meanwhile, has the time of his life in the year’s most colorful performance — playing Ken, the doll obsessed with Barbie, in “Barbie.” You couldn’t get two more contrasting performances — both are genius in their own measure. “American Born Chinese” has been canceled after one season at Disney+, Variety has learned.
According to an individual with knowledge of the decision, Disney was high on the creative of the series, but its viewership did not justify greenlighting a second season. The producers plan to shop the series to other outlets.
“American Born Chinese” debuted on Disney+ on May. The Disney Branded Television series was based on the graphic novel of the same name by Gene Luen Yang. The official logline states that the show “chronicles the trials and tribulations of a regular American teenager whose life is forever changed when he befriends the son of a mythological god.”
The cast of the series included Ben Wang, Michelle Yeoh, Yeo Yann Yann, Chin Han, Jimmy Liu, Ke Huy Quan, Sydney Taylor, and Daniel Wu. The show received positive reviews from critics, with the first season holding a 94% approval rating based on 51 reviews.

Disney+ is not proceeding with a second season of Disney Branded Television/20th Television’s action fantasy series American Born Chinese, which stars Oscar winners Ke Huy Quan and Michelle Yeoh.
The decision comes more than seven months after the eight-episode first season was released May 24. It also comes after the options on the cast expired yesterday, I hear. 20th Television still plans to shop the series elsewhere.
Created by Kelvin Yu based on Gene Luen Yang’s graphic novel, American Born Chinese had an impeccable timing, launching on the heels of the 2023 awards season that saw Yeoh and Quan win trophy after trophy for their movie Everything Everywhere All at Once, culminating with both of them landing Oscars in March.

Deadline reports that Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once) is set to headline his very own action movie.
Ke Huy Quan will star in With Love, which comes from Universal and David Leitch and Kelly McCormick’s 87North. Jonathan Eusebio will make his feature directorial debut with the movie after serving as a second unit director and stunt coordinator on projects such as Violent Night, Deadpool 2, Black Panther, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but Deadline notes that With Love is being written by Luke Passmore based on an original script by Josh Stoddard & Matthew Murray.

The Los Angeles Critics Love actresses, and Sandra Hüller most of all.
Many bristled (and still do) when some awards bodies started changing their acting awards to genderless categories. One of the principal complaints was that this would mean fewer artists awarded and that men would dominate. Or, in the Lafca's case, a new name on the same system since having two winners each for Lead and Supporting meant they could go on giving prizes equivalent to the gendered divide of yore. That happened last year when Blanchett and Nighy took the Lead, Quan and de Leon Supporting. This year, however, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association decided to forego tradition altogether. Their four acting prizes went to women, making this their first edition without a single male actor among the honorees.

"Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" is often criticized for its culturally problematic portrayal of the Thugee cult, and its unsettlingly dark content that, along with "Gremlins," led to the Motion Picture Association's creation of the PG-13 rating. The former issue is wholly legitimate, but is anything in the 1984 sequel more violent than Nazis getting their faces melted or Pat Roach getting cut to ribbons by a airplane propeller in "Raiders of the Lost Ark?"
What's not up for debate is that "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" was a particularly rough shoot for star Harrison Ford. The actor herniated a disc in his back while performing a somersault during the assassination attempt in Indy's bedroom, and refused to leave the set for treatment. As George Lucas recalled in John Baxter's "Mythmaker: The Life and Work of George Lucas," "[Ford] could barely stand up, yet he was...

While the divisive Thor: Love and Thunder explored a new arc of the Thunder God trying to find meaning and purpose in his position within the universe, the new season of Loki will also give us a new personal journey for the God of Mischief. Disney released the trailer for season 2 two weeks ago. Now, Marvel Studios gives audiences a look behind the scenes with the new featurette. This year’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania featured a post-credits sequence showing a variant of Kang the Conqueror putting on a Tesla-esque display in an early 1900s-era setting. The scene looked to serve as a teaser for what’s to come as clips show this season expanding on that moment.

As we move closer to September, this year’s Oscars season begins to move into view. As it does, we’ll be taking a closer look at some of this year’s contenders, continuing here with Best Supporting Actor. This is a category that, last year, awarded Ke Huy Quan a victory for his performance in “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” But who will take to the Oscars podium this year? Well, in order to look ahead, we must first look back. Let’s take a look at the last 10 years of Oscars history.
Drama is the overwhelming favorite here, with nine out of the last 10 winners all coming from drama films. Only Quan, for the sci-fi “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” is the exception. What is more overwhelming, however, is the fact that all 10 of those winners won for films that were also nominated for Best Picture. In fact,...

"Loki" has always had a whole lot going for it. The Tom Hiddleston-led show has a stacked cast including Owen Wilson and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, a fun plotline that's directly related to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe, and importantly, the first season had the privilege of being one of the only Disney+ Marvel shows that aired before everyone got kind of sick of them. In season 2, though, "Loki" will have a new secret weapon, one that has the potential to make it even more endearing: Ke Huy Quan.
Quan's role in the show hasn't been officially disclosed yet, though it seems like he might be playing a character called Ouroboros, who has his own place in global mythology and Marvel comics history. In the trailer for season 2, Hiddleston's Loki and Owen Wilson's Mobius visit Quan's character at what seems to be a whimsically cluttered-looking storage room, where Mobius calls him O.

On March 11, 2022, “Everything Everywhere All At Once” premiered at the South By Southwest Film Festival. The film starred Michelle Yeoh as a laundromat business owner who travels through the multiverse, encountering adventures from alternate lives she could have led. The film co-starred Ke Huy Quan as her husband and Stephanie Hsu as her estranged lesbian daughter. It was well-received at the premiere and went on to receive near universal acclaim, raking in over $140 million at the box office. The film’s critical and commercial success began to generate Oscar buzz. It seemed like a surefire bet to get into multiple above-the-line categories, including acting nominations for Yeoh and Quan. Hsu looked like a dark horse contender.
One key performance in the film that had less chatter that summer was Jamie Lee Curtis as an IRS inspector targeting Yeoh’s laundromat business. Being the daughter of famous actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh,...

Berlin, Aug 5 (Ians) The Chinese diving team swept all four synchronized golds on offer at the 2023 World Aquatics World Cup Berlin Super Final here.

The first trailer for Loki season 2 was released yesterday and it’s already become a huge success for Marvel Studios. According to Deadline, the Loki season 2 trailer has become the “biggest online trailer debut ever for any series on Disney+ with 80 million views.” Congrats.
The first season of Loki remains Marvel’s most-watched series on Disney+, so it’s no surprise that audiences have been eagerly awaiting the next installment. The trailer finds Loki (Tom Hiddleston) doing some time-slipping (a very cool effect) and teaming up with Mobius (Owen Wilson) in order to save the timeline.

The first trailer for the second season of Loki has dropped, and it includes a peek at Kang, the character played by embattled actor Jonathan Majors.
Loki, the first live-action Marvel Studios series to get a season two, once again stars Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and Owen Wilson’s Mobius M. Mobius of the Time Variance Authority. Everything Everywhere All at Once Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan and Blindspotting’s Rafael Casal join the franchise as well.
The inclusion of Majors in the trailer answers a question about how Disney would market the show, in which the actor is a key antagonist said to appear in about half the episodes.
Majors first showed up in the season one finale before Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania included a Kang-centric post-credits scene. Majors was arrested in New York in late March in what police described as a domestic dispute in which a 30-year-old woman sustained minor injuries.

Fukuoka, Japan, July 20 (Ians) Chinese diver Chen Yuxi shocked teammate and Olympic champion Quan Hongchan to win her third consecutive 10m platform world title.

On May 24, 2023, Disney+ released “American Born Chinese,” which quickly amassed a score of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and a critics’ consensus that reads, “Jam-packed with inventive flourishes and grounded by lovable actors, ‘American Born Chinese’ musters epic elements from Chinese mythology to tell a deeply relatable coming of age story.”
The series reunites “Everything Everywhere All At Once” Oscar winners Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan to tell the story of Jin Wang (Ben Wang), an average teenager balancing high school and home life. When he meets a new foreign student on the first day of the school, even more worlds collide as Jin is unwittingly entangled in a battle with Chinese mythological gods. A popular reading of superhero mania holds that it’s our era’s substitute for shared mythology; instead of Zeus shooting lightning bolts from Mount Olympus, we have Cyclops shooting beams from his eyeballs. So it’s fitting that the coming-of-age tale “American Born Chinese” streams on Disney+, the service that’s a one-stop shop for all things Marvel; Destin Daniel Cretton of “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” the first Marvel film to star an Asian American hero, even directs the pilot. But “American Born Chinese” flips the script: rather than use superheroes for modern-day mythmaking, it infuses centuries-old myths into genres now dominated by superheroes.
Loosely based on Gene Luen Yang’s 2006 graphic novel and created by Kelvin Yu of “Bob’s Burgers” and “Master of None,” “American Born Chinese” revolves around Jin Wang (Ben Wang), a rising sophomore desperate to fit into his majority-white high school...

Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan plays a fairly minor role in the Disney+ family series American Born Chinese. But there may be no more important character to convey what the show is trying to do, and how well it succeeds at most of it.
Chinese is a complicated mix of elements. Centered on the struggles of awkward teenager Jin (Ben Wang), it is a grounded coming-of-age story one minute, a supernatural escape with wuxia fights between ancient Chinese gods the next. Sprinkled in with all of that is a lot...

When Everything Everywhere All At Once burst into the multiverse, it rocked our cinematic world like never before. Not only did Michelle Yeoh become the first Asian woman to win Best Actress at the Academy Awards, Eeaao captured six other Oscars including Best Picture, and both Best Supporting Actor and Actress. Beyond that, Eeaao collectively earned over 300 honors and nominations from film festivals all over the world.
Hot on heels of the Eeaao victory lap, Disney+ announced the debut of American Born Chinese, a miniseries based on a celebrated graphic novel created by Gene Luen Yang in 2006. Yang is an executive producer of this television adaptation. His original graphic novel won tons of accolades including the 2007 Eisner Award and Best Comic of the Year from Publishers Weekly, Time, Amazon, and others. A pioneering exploration of the Asian American experience, American Born Chinese is even used as a teaching aid in schools to this day.

"Everything Everywhere All at Once" broke nearly every barrier imaginable in the film world with its groundbreaking debut in 2022, followed by its epic award season run this year. From its best picture Oscar win to increased visibility for Asian performers in Hollywood, the blockbuster movie opened up more doors for diverse storytelling on the silver screen. But, sadly, it seems "Everything Everywhere All at Once" will be a one-of-one kind of project, as lead star Michelle Yeoh recently revealed there won't be a follow-up to the A24 feature film.
"There's no sequel," said Yeoh, who played Evelyn Wang, rejecting the idea during an interview with Variety (published on May 21) at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. "We would just be doing the same thing."
Yeoh isn't the only "Everything Everywhere All at Once" star to shoot down the concept of a sequel. On July 3, 2022, directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert clarified that...

The biggest night of the year for critics ended with “Everything Everywhere All At Once.” The beloved multiverse movie that almost defies genre classification won five awards, including Best Picture, Best Director for Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, Best Original Screenplay for the Daniels, Best Editing, and Best Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan.
That “Everything Everywhere” would dominate the show was far from a surprise: the movie led all features with 14 nominations, including four acting citations for Quan, Michelle Yeoh (who lost Best Actress to Cate Blanchett for “Tar”), and Stephanie Hsu and Jamie Lee Curtis (who both lost in the Best Supporting Actress to Angela Bassett for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”). The other acting winner was Brendan Fraser for “The Whale,” a victory that could springboard him to an eventual Oscar win.
In fact, historically, the Critics Choice Awards and Oscars match winners’ results roughly 70 percent of the time.

It was the west coast critics’ turn to hand out honors for the best films and performances of 2022, with the Los Angeles Film Critics Association (Lafca) landing on a tie for their top honors, between A24’s “Everything Everywhere All at Once” and Focus Features’ “Tár.” It was the fourth time the group tied in its 48-year history after “Dog Day Afternoon” and “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” (1975), “Network” and “Rocky” (1976) and “Gravity” and “Her” (2013).
Along with the top prize for “Tár,” Todd Field won both director and screenplay prizes for the film. His leading woman Cate Blanchett walked away with the best lead performance honor, which she shared with British veteran actor Bill Nighy for his work in Oliver Hermanus’ “Living.”
It was the first year the group switched to gender-neutral acting categories, which they announced back in October.

Nine months after world premiering their martial arts fantasy feature Everything Everywhere All at Once to roaring crowds at SXSW and watching it go on to become the highest grossing specialty title of the year, A24’s best ever, at 70M US/103M WW, directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert remain gobsmacked.

“We like to chase things that feel impossible,” explains Kwan on the latest episode of Crew Call, “I think one thing that felt impossible was actually creating an indie film that could survive this climate in where blockbusters, big franchises become the only success stories lately.”
Could the Daniels take their love of big action films and combine it with an idiosyncratic arthouse style and have it play to a big audience?
“It was the goal, but we never thought it was attainable” said Kwan.

The mid-80s were magical for Ke Huy Quan. Not only was he chosen by Steven Spielberg to co-star with Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, the young Vietnamese-American actor followed that up with The Goonies too. But with very few roles for Asian actors at that time, Quan decided to stop acting and pursue a career behind the scenes. Here, Quan reflects on his time away from the spotlight, how the 2018 comedy Crazy Rich Asians was a personal game-changer, and the deeply humbling experience of his return in Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Deadline: A lot of people don’t realize that you took some time off from being In front of the camera and studied film at USC. Then once you graduated, you ended up working for renowned Hong Kong action director Corey Yuen and a certain Wong Kar Wai.
Ke Huy Quan: Yeah.

Ever since “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” (2017) ended a 26-year drought, double Best Supporting Actor Oscar nominees from one film have been all the rage. And this season, the category could very well tread new territory with a double set of double nominees.
“The Fabelmans” and “The Banshees of Inisherin” are both vying to field two supporting actor nominees — Paul Dano and Judd Hirsch for the former, and Brendan Gleeson and Barry Keoghan for the latter. Three of them are in the current top five in the odds and all four are in the top six. Ke Huy Quan (“Everything Everywhere All at Once”) leads the way in first place, followed by Gleeson, Ben Whishaw (“Women Talking”), Dano, Hirsch and Keoghan.
Should all four get in, this would be the second time in Oscar history in which two films score double nominations in the same acting category and the first time in supporting actor.

“Everything Everywhere All at Once” won best feature at the 32nd Gotham Awards on Monday, taking one of the first major prizes of Hollywood’s awards season and boosting the Oscar hopes of the anarchic indie hit of the year.
Also taking an award for his work on the film was Ke Huy Quan, the “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” child star who made a lauded comeback in “Everything Everywhere All at Once” and won for best supporting actor.
“This time last year, all I was hoping for was a job,” said an emotional Quan who had nearly given up acting before landing his role in the film. “For the first time in a very long time, I was given a second chance.”

Everything Everywhere All At Once is the movie miracle of the year. It’s an original film not based on a previously created intellectual property that became A24’s highest-grossing movie. It managed to combine the quirky comedy of the directors, The Daniels, as well as the martial arts action of star Michelle Yeoh, along with a poignant family story. It also saw the return of beloved 80s child actor Ke Huy Quan of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and The Goonies.
The film was a big winner at the 2022 Gotham Awards, according to Variety. Quan took home the award for Best Supporting Performance after 20 years of being absent from the industry. Quan would humbly show his appreciation in his speech, “Oftentimes it is in independent films, where actors who otherwise wouldn’t get a chance, find their opportunities. “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” a multiverse-spanning adventure, scored at the 32nd annual Gotham Awards, capturing the prize for best feature. It also nabbed a best supporting performance honor for Ke Huy Quan, a former child star best known for his work in “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,” who returned to acting after a nearly 20-year hiatus.
“Oftentimes it is in independent films, where actors who otherwise wouldn’t get a chance, find their opportunities,” Quan said in an emotional speech. “I was that actor.”

Oscar Experts Typing: Are we underestimating Tom Hanks? Dissecting some supporting actor dark horses
Welcome to Oscar Experts Typing, a weekly column in which Gold Derby editors and Experts Joyce Eng and Christopher Rosen discuss the Oscar race — via Slack, of course. This week, we consider some long shots in supporting actor.
Christopher Rosen: Hello, Joyce! It’s Thanksgiving weekend, when extended families gather together to talk about the Best Supporting Actor race? For our purposes, let’s imagine that world and dive into a race we’ve somewhat neglected in recent weeks. Maybe that’s because of how solid it is compared to other spots. While I could make the cases for multiple different groups of five in the Best Supporting Actress category, Best Supporting Actor feels a little more coalesced. Nearly every expert has “Everything Everywhere All at Once” fave Ke Huy Quan and “The Banshees of Inisherin” star Brendan Gleeson among their picks — with almost half of all experts predicting Quan for the win,...

Once the more outré tee-up to a more staid Oscars ceremony, the Film Independent Spirit Awards once again moves its date from Academy Awards weekend to March 4, a few days before the final round of Academy voting closes — a move that could have an impact on the Oscars results.
Historically, the Indie Spirit winners tend to zag from the projects and performances the Academy highlights. For example, the last ceremony awarded Best Feature to “The Lost Daughter,” Best Male Lead to Simon Rex (“Red Rocket”), and Best Female Lead to Taylour Paige (“Zola”), picks that did not even cross over with Oscar nominations. This year, however, the idiosyncratic awards body aligns well with projects that prognosticators suggest will receive much love from the Academy.

Ke Huy Quan, who played Harrison Ford’s 11-year-old sidekick Short Round in 1984’s “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,” is all grown up now and ready to be an Oscar contender.
Quan, 51, has received rousing reviews for his turn as Waymond Wang, the delightfully goofy husband in the Daniels’ whimsical multiverse comedy “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” Along the lines of past hardworking actors who received their big Oscar breaks later in their careers — such as Paul Raci for “Sound of Metal” (2020) and Troy Kotsur for “Coda” (2021) — Quan’s comeback story is one of the season’s bright spots.

Nearly four decades later, actor Ke Huy Quan is still best known for playing Short Round in Temple of Doom and Data in The Goonies–and he credits Steven Spielberg for all of his success.

It's always heartwarming to see a familiar face return to the big screen after disappearing from the industry, such as Brendan Fraser with "The Whale." The start of the year, however, reacquainted us with another familiar face in Ke Huy Quan with "Everything Everywhere All at Once." Prior to his return to the screen, the actor had been most associated with his childhood roles in "The Goonies" and "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom." But with Oscar season coming up, there's a great chance he could be nominated, and rightly so.
Quan may have officially returned to movies last year with a Netflix adventure flick called "Finding 'Ohana," but "Everything Everywhere" is where the actor showed what he's been capable of. The lack of opportunity initially led him to leave the industry, and now it's his time to shine. He's already got projects lined up for Disney's "American Born Chinese,...

Some awards prognosticators might say the key to winning an Oscar is to portray a real person. But others might say the key to winning an Oscar is to portray the Joker on the big screen.
To date, four actors who have portrayed Batman’s biggest foe have also won an Oscar in their careers: Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto and Joaquin Phoenix. Two of the four, Ledger and Phoenix, actually won for their performances as the Joker. Ledger, who died in January 2008 at age 28, was posthumously awarded the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as an unhinged agent of chaos in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” (2008). Steven Spielberg gave Ke Huy Quan his first movie role at 13 years old when he got cast as Short Round opposite Harrison Ford in 1984’s “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.” Flash forward 38 years and Spielberg is still sending Quan a Christmas gift every holiday season. Quan, who is currently making the awards season press rounds in support of “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” revealed the heartwarming tidbit in a new interview with The Guardian.
“He gave me my first job and, so many years later, he has not forgotten me,” Quan said. “Every time I needed help, he’s always there.”
Spielberg kept Quan’s child acting career burning bright by landing him his “Indiana Jones” follow-up role in 1985’s “The Goonies,” where Quan played the James Bond-loving Data. Spielberg executive produced the Richard Donner-directed adventure movie.

In retrospect, it's no surprise that "Everything Everywhere All At Once" received the breakout mainstream success that it enjoyed earlier this year. Audiences were clearly starved for the kind of high-concept, fantastical, and refreshingly original story that not even big-budget superhero movies could deliver. The added bonus of seeing the legendary Michelle Yeoh fully embody the role of Evelyn in all her varied multiversal forms certainly helped, priming the actor for perhaps her first Oscar nomination ever. But the secret weapon of the film, based on many of the glowing reactions to the latest mind-bending fever dream from directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert ("Swiss Army Man"), would have to be the emotional, hilarious, and action-packed performance of Ke Huy Quan.
Devastatingly enough, Quan's role in "Everything Everywhere All At Once" was his first in decades, largely because of the prevalent racism that drummed the talented actor out of the business altogether.

Ke Huy Quan is welling up. Behind black-rimmed glasses, the former child star’s eyes are reddening. His voice starts to wobble as he talks about finding fame for the second time round with the phenomenal success of Everything Everywhere All at Once, this year’s most wildly imaginative breakout film. “It’s incredible. I’m still pinching myself every day. I can’t believe this is real.”
It’s been decades since Quan appeared as Short Round, Harrison Ford’s plucky sidekick in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and gadget-loving Data in The Goonies. Even so, it’s not hard to find traces...

Ke Huy Quan Took His Fanny-Pack Combat Training For Everything Everywhere All At Once Very Seriously
One of the most rewarding things to come out of the phenomenal success of "Everything Everywhere All At Once" is witnessing the glorious renaissance of actor Ke Huy Quan.

For now, Quan will be seen next in season 2 of "Loki," which is rather fitting since the Marvel series also deals with the myriad of possibilities within the multiverse.
