Alex W. Leath
- Location Management
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and has written over 10 feature length
screenplays, 3 short films and 2 television series. With concepts for
countless others Alex has prepared a slate of projects to be produced
within the year. Mr. Leath's career now spans 20 years.
In 1996, as a partner of A&D Images he co-produced 10 minutes of his screenplay "Tuesday Rendezvous", shot in digital in and around the New York Metro Area. Leath shopped the property to major studios hoping to get the financing for a full feature production, but there were no takers. Undaunted, he continued writing new screenplays and attending network gatherings. In the year 2000 his screenplay "Deadly Communication" attracted the interest of Zomba/Jive Records who offered him a writing deal, which was quickly accepted. In the midst of the terrorist attacks on our great nation Alex decided to start his own company and formed Leath Enterprises, LLC in September 2001. As America came to grips with these volatile times Alex was undeterred and kept his vision in tact. He knew America would remain, what was in question was his ultimate destiny. In 2003 Alex decided not to re-sign for another year with Zomba/Jive Records citing the company's lack of commitment to him and his script. Following his departure from Zomba, he began packaging and developing his next creation, a suspense/thriller entitled "Triplecross". He had some of the finest talent in the industry submit Letters of Intent to be part this project. Currently this project is packaged and with a group of investors in consideration of financing.
In April 2007, Leath relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia. With things seeming pretty stagnant, in the fall of 2008 he answered an ad on Craigslist regarding a company, seeking writers for a developing television series. Following Thanksgiving of that year, Leath subsequently met with Davion Hussen, creator of 7 Cities "An Original Series. Mr. Hussen needed an additional writer with the experience to develop and structure dramatic content. Thus a partnership was born and Link Court Productions was in its infancy. Three more talented individuals joined Leath and Hussen spearheading a television and film movement previously unseen in Hampton Roads, Virginia. 7 Cities "An Original Series" aired on local Cox Channels 11 & 9 from September 2010 - June 2011. Shot without a budget, 7 Cities impressed even the highest skeptics. Television and Newspaper interviews subsequently followed. The series now airs all over the United States including countries abroad such as The United Kingdom and Ireland.
Following the sudden success of "7 Cities" Alex has continued to write and produce content for Link Court such as; Misty Rayne: The Death Chronicles, the horror short "The Wait" and the controversial supernatural drama "Transference". Future projects will include; children books, teenage programming, superhero comics/animation, and others. In May 2011 Leath was approached by Imani Films, LLC to produce and executive produce the feature film Warlord: Genesis of Gemini, to star Tony Todd. The project is currently in pre-production with principle photography scheduled for January 2012. Link Courts newest TV brainchild Going Viral, a sketch comedy music show, premiered on local Cox Cable 11 & 9 on September 11, 2011 and will continue through February 2012. In August of 2011, friend and business associate April J. Freeman approached Leath about becoming a producer on her upcoming feature The Weekend, which he gladly accepted.
