“We ride together, we die together… Bad Boys for life.”
Detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett are ready for action again, as Martin Lawrence and Will Smith have jumped back into the saddle for Bad Boys For Life, the third installment in the beloved franchise.
The fast-talking duo were last seen in Michael Bay’s Bad Boys sequel back in 2003, which might not’ve gone over as well as the original, but was still an enjoyable action romp. Their return has been a long time coming then, but the threequel is finally in production with Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah calling the shots from behind the lens, after the creative pair replaced Joe Carnahan, who was originally set to helm.
Suffice it to say, it’s been a very, very long journey for Bad Boys For Life so far, but now, we finally have the first trailer and it...

I was super excited about Bad Boys For Life when director Joe Carnahan was on board to helm the film. I’ve always enjoyed his crazy filmmaking style, and it would have worked great for this franchise. Unfortunately, Will Smith didn’t feel the same way. He and Carnahan clashed on the vision and direction of the film, and because of that, Carnahan ended up dropping out of the project.
While talking to Collider, the filmmaker talked about what happened and what led to him leaving. According to him the script he wrote for the film was solid, but it just didn’t work for Smith. It wasn’t what he was looking for in the film.
Carnahan doesn’t hold any kind of grudge against Smith, it’s just the way things played out:
“I love Will, he’s a great guy. I just know myself. And I thought...

Detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett are all ready for their big comeback, so batten down the hatches and prepare for another helping of testosterone-fueled action. Except, without the Bayhem, of course.
In the director’s chairs for this latest outing are franchise newcomers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who kicked off production on the blockbuster threequel Bad Boys For Life earlier this month. Excitement is already pretty high, too, what with action fans eagerly awaiting the moment when Will Smith and Martin Lawrence reunite on the big screen.
And with just under a year to go now until the film releases, we’re starting to get a few brief glimpses at what to expect. For instance, Will Smith has taken to Instagram today to share the first official look at himself and Martin Lawrence in character as the aforementioned Detectives, all ready to head off on a new...

“We ride together, we die together… Bad Boys for life.”
Detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett are about to get back to business, as Martin Lawrence recently signed on for Bad Boys 3 (official title: Bad Boys For Life) alongside his old co-star Will Smith.
The fast-talking duo were last seen working with one another in Michael Bay’s Bad Boys sequel, which hit theaters in 2003. It’s been a long time coming then, but the studio is finally moving ahead with the threequel and Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will both be calling the shots from behind the lens, after the creative pair replaced Joe Carnahan in the director’s chair(s).
Suffice it to say, it’s been a fairly long journey for Bad Boys For Life so far, but now that production’s on the verge of kicking off, we have our first look at Smith back in his iconic role.

Bad Boys 3, billed as Bad Boys for Life, will see Will Smith and Martin Lawrence back together in January 2020.
Bad Boys 3 or Bad Boys for Life, has been, up until now, a long-kept secret. The difficulty, as producer Jerry Bruckheimer said back in summer 2013, centered on the task of reuniting its duo headlining personnel. Back then, he was "trying to find a hole in Will Smith's schedule."
Having finally overcome dilatory issues, the long-awaited threequel revives the popular buddy cop film franchise of 1995's Bad Boys and 2003's Bad Boys II, both of which were directed by Michael Bay. While he ultimately dropped out of directing the Will Smith and Martin Lawrence revival vehicle, he would be replaced by a duo of up-and-comers in Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.
