Under the acquisition, Kontakto’s roster of talent now represented by SeaGlass includes Marc Clotet (The Sleeping Voice on Prime), Kiley Opsal (A Race Against Time), Jessica Caban (Jane the Virgin), Nicole Santamaria (Netflix’s Griselda), Eddie Martinez (Blumhouse’s NightSwim), Adriana Martinez (Max’s Duster), Liana Mendoza (Mothers & Daughters), Rocio Ibarra, Doreen Calderon (Paramount+’s Fatal Attraction), among others.
Seaglass Talent and Kontakto also have teamed as Executive Producers on features The Low End Theory, a Latinx Lgbtqa film noir in post starring Sidney Flanagan, Ricky Russet, Eddie Martinez, Scotty Tovar, Sofia Yepes and Rene Rosado, as well as two Groucho Marx features with Jade Marx in development.
Echeverry will continue to concentrate exclusively on representing global directors in the advertising industry as well as develop and produce a distinctive slate of film and television projects most notably, Bella thriller, The Black List 2022, with producing partners The Hayes Brothers.

This post contains spoilers for "Dune."
In Frank Herbert's "Dune," Mentat Thufir Hawat, the Master of Assassins for House Atreides, trains heir-to-the-throne Paul Atreides in the ways of military strategy and political maneuvering. Exceedingly gifted and cunning, Thufir emerges as an asset for the Atreides, especially during their takeover of Arrakis, the coveted Spice-rich desert planet that the people of Caladan knew very little about. Although Hawat's abilities are tested to the limits after the Atreides find themselves under attack, he successfully orchestrates a raid on Giedi Prime on Duke Leto's orders, striking the Harkonnens where it hurt the most by destroying their illegal spice reserves.
In Denis Villeneuve's "Dune," Stephen McKinley Henderson embodies the role of Thufir with equal parts panache and integrity, sporting a deeply intelligent gaze that turns milky-grey when he channels his abilities, along with a fashionable parasol to beat the heat on Arrakis.

Ubisoft’s upcoming game, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, has stirred up quite a bit of controversy, and it’s not just about the main character. While the community debates over Yasuke as the protagonist, popular Twitch streamer Asmongold has a different issue with the game: its pricing.
Many fans are outraged over the game’s pricing. The Gold Edition of the game is priced at $110 Usd, and the Ultimate Edition is even higher at $130 Usd.
Asmongold’s Critique of Ubisoft’s Pricing Strategy This game is just full of controversy.

Once known as Dune: The Sisterhood, the Max streaming series Dune: Prophecy, which serves as a prequel to the Dune feature films directed by Denis Villeneuve, started filming in November of 2022, then underwent quite a shake-up in 2023 when the director of the first two episodes, Johan Renck (who executive produced and directed all five episodes of the HBO limited series Chernobyl) decided to leave the project over creative issues, then Shirley Henderson (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) – who had been cast as one of the show’s lead characters – followed him out the door. Everything has been worked out since then, with Dune: Prophecy on track for a fall 2024 premiere. To start building the hype, Max just unveiled a teaser trailer for the show, and you can check it out in the embed above!

Of all the characters that come along in the Netflix series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, the character of Alistair Cartwright, the new superintendent of police in Lahore, would make your heart rage and your blood boil. Every little act of his would only evoke disgust, making you sigh and say, “Not all men, but always a man” from your heart! The series is set around the year 1945, before India gained independence from British rule. Speaking out against the British was a big no-no back then. But some brave souls are willing to risk everything to free India from British control, even if it means sacrificing their love, family, or even themselves. Cartwright here is a real piece of work. He’s always ready to prey on the weak and helpless, crushing the dreams of those who dare to stand against him. He takes advantage of people left and right until he can’t anymore.

What is it about Virgin River that keeps Netflix users coming back for more, making it one of the most popular shows on the streaming service?
Some might say it's the laid-back vibe that pervades the titular Northern California town. Some will say it's the romantic intrigue and drama that intertwines each storyline. Well, we'd say it's the talented ensemble cast who never fail to impress with their chemistry, dynamism and commitment to the story.
And one of the undisputed favourites for Virgin River fans is Martin Henderson, who portrays Jack Sheridan. The 49-year-old heartthrob's charm and humble nature make the hearts of almost every viewer beat faster, but now Henderson's career is about to take a drastic turn, as from Season 6 he will not only be responsible for playing the role of Jack, but for other duties as well.
Without further ado, let's take a look at what...

Although the last installment in the series didn’t receive the greatest reviews, Far Cry 7 is still a title that has the potential to turn things around for the franchise. The series has been one of the developer’s signature franchises, enjoying highs with its third installment and mixed lows with its more recent entries. But Far Cry has a history of having memorable villains, and their impact becomes even stronger when they are portrayed by familiar Hollywood actors.
It seems like in Far Cry 7, the Hollywood A-lister, who recently won an Oscar for his portrayal of J. Robert Oppenheimer in the Christopher Nolan-directed film, will be following in the footsteps of Giancarlo Esposito and Michael Mando.

“Dune: Part Two” features one of the starriest casts in recent memory. From Timothée Chalamet to Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Dave Bautista and more, there’s rarely a scene in the Denis Villeneuve-directed sequel that isn’t filled with star power. The cast was supposed to be even bigger, however, but the filmmaker had to make some cuts to the final edit that left at least one actor “heartbroken.”

After a worldwide search led filmmakers to cast Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, as the King of Pop, with 9-year-old Juliano Krue Valdi as the younger Michael, fans have been eagerly waiting to see who would round out the rest of the Jackson family.
The film, which is scheduled to hit theaters on April 18, 2025, is currently in production. Oscar-nominee Colman Domingo assumes the role of family patriarch Joe Jackson with Nia Long as mother Katherine Jackson, plus Miles Teller as lawyer John Branca.
Now, the eight actors who will portray Jackson’s four brothers — who come together to form the massively popular singing group the Jackson 5 — have been revealed: Jamal R. Henderson plays Jermaine Jackson in the film’s later years, while Jayden Harville plays the younger version.

The Far Cry franchise is a core pillar of Ubisoft’s library, but it’s fallen flat in recent years. 2021’s Far Cry 6 was commercially successful, but critically mixed. The series faces mounting (and valid) criticism from fans and critics alike, pointing out the monotony of Ubisoft’s open-world formula, which is more or less unchanged since Far Cry 3.
A change of course for Far Cry is undeniably necessary, and potential solutions may be brewing in the form of two rumored projects currently in active development at Ubisoft Montreal. These projects could offer the refresh the franchise desperately needs.

Netflix is developing a “Virgin River” prequel series.
“Virgin River” follows the lives of the residents of the eponymous Northern California town, including nurse practitioner Mel (Breckenridge), bar owner and veteran Jack (Henderson), town doctor Doc (Matheson), mayor Hope (O’Toole) and many more.
If ordered to series, the prequel would follow Mel’s parents: Sarah Jensen, who died when Mel was young, and Everett Reed (John Allen Nelson), who was revealed as Mel’s biological father in Season 6 finale “Father Christmas.”
“Virgin River” premiered in 2019 and is now in production on its sixth season. The series, which consistently dominates the Netflix Top 10 when new seasons are released, is based on Robyn Carr’s novel series of the same name and was developed for television by Sue Tenney. Patrick Sean Smith serves as showrunner and is writing the prequel series.

There was just something so fun about the Virgin River holiday episodes after recent happenings on the Netflix romantic drama, and that’s a sentiment star Martin Henderson shares. “I thought they were my favorite, actually. It was so fun to do, particularly after I think this Season 5 was relatively heavy with what the characters all went through with the fire and the miscarriage,” he tells TV Insider. “There was just so much. I think previous seasons were probably more feel good throughout the whole, whereas this had some much more contentious stuff going on and to sort of then be released back into the really fun, joyful Christmas stuff at the end felt really good.” But it wouldn’t be Virgin River without some drama. Below, Henderson ponders what’s next when it comes to some of those big moments, as well as shares what he knows about Season...

Long-time character actor Camden Toy, best known for his roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and, more recently, the horror anthology series Into The Dark, has died. He was 68. According to a press release from Toy’s representatives, the actor passed away on Monday, December 11, after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. His longtime partner, Bethany ‘Bea’ Henderson, opened up about his diagnosis earlier this month in a Facebook post, writing, “My heart is breaking as I watch my Love vanish before me!” “Many of our circle know that Camden has been battling with pancreatic cancer for 2 years. He was diagnosed in February last year after months of mysterious pain. For many reasons we were very hopeful for, at least, a longer and more fruitful time on planet Earth,” Henderson continued. She added, “Unfortunately, it looks like we’ve reached the end of the road with the doctor’s treatments.

It wasn’t just the behemoth of Barbenheimer that had critics and film nerds alike wearing out every variation of the maxim “Movies are back, baby!” While a glance at any of our past year-end film roundups easily puts the lie to the notion that the movies ever meaningfully “went away,” it’s also true that 2023 had something to offer just about everyone with a generosity that feels like a throwback. The idea of movies as a zeitgeisty, mass-appeal art form didn’t just get a stay of execution in 2023—it flourished with the vibrancy of a brand-new medium, even as most of those heralding cinema’s resurgence to cultural dominance were subconsciously doing so under the regressive guise of returning to “the way things used to be.”

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for The Gilded Age Season 2 Episode 6, “Warning Shots.”] Morgan Spector‘s George Russell saw the climax of the workers’ strike in The Gilded Age Season 2’s sixth episode. Tensions reached a tipping point when Henderson (Darren Goldstein), the union’s leader, and his men faced being shot and killed as they tried to prevent scabs from crossing their picket line. At the very last moment, George stopped the police from carrying out any bloodshed — a move that left his right-hand man, Richard Clay (Patrick Page), seething. Spector tells TV Insider that while the union has won this battle, there will be more to this war in a potential third season. And George’s humane decision in Episode 6 may cause an irreparable rift between him and Richard, similar to a real-life robber baron and his No. 2 from the same era. “Obviously these [union] issues aren’t going anywhere, but I would expect we would probably ...

With so many streaming platforms and broadcast channels, it's a challenge for shows of any genre to find an audience and thrive. This is especially true of the horror genre, which feels more niche in appeal than sitcoms and prestige dramas. However, not every cancellation has to do with low viewership, particularly with recent changes across the entertainment industry. From studio politics to fickle viewer attention, some shows get cut short for the oddest of reasons.
These horror shows were each canceled for relatively unconventional reasons, not entirely having to do with ratings or production costs. With everything from acclaimed international productions to adaptations of popular licensed properties, nothing is safe from behind-the-scenes drama and obtuse content strategies. The only thing scarier than some of these shows is the inane rationale that ended them before their time.

Dancing with the Stars viewers are calling foul on judges Carrie Ann Inaba, head judge Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli. This film from Scottish animators Will Anderson and Ainslie Henderson might have been a straightforward piece about Anderson’s mother being diagnosed with mouth cancer and his coming to terms with her getting sick. But instead, it begins with Anderson in front of the camera admitting to his mum that after five years of off-and-on work, the film feels like a failure. “It’s all a bit of a mess,” he says, voice cracking with emotion. What he is going to do, Anderson tells his mum, is show her some of what he’s been working on. So, the film turns into a scrappy documentary with flashes of originality and some interesting things to say about the form itself.

New York, Aug 24 (Ians) US researchers have in a breakthrough developed a brain implant system, which when powered by artificial intelligence (AI) helps paralysed patients with speech difficulties communicate via a computer screen.
The speech-aiding brain implant by Stanford University consists of baby-aspirin sized sensors — square arrays of tiny silicon electrodes — that are implanted in patients’ cerebral cortex, the brain’s outermost layer.
Each array contains 64 electrodes, arranged in 8-by-8 grids and spaced apart from one another by a distance of about half the thickness of a credit card. The electrodes penetrate the cerebral cortex to a depth roughly equaling that of two stacked quarters.
The implanted arrays are attached to fine gold wires that exit through pedestals screwed to the skull, which are then hooked up by cable to a computer.
The devices transmit signals from a couple of speech-related regions in patients’ brains to state-of-the-art software that decodes...
