Sky One sci-fi Intergalactic is part conspiracy thriller, part prison break drama, and all space romp. It’s set 150 years in the future, when all of Earth’s nations have united into a single authority known as the Commonworld, and a new element has enabled Earth’s people to escape ecological collapse and colonise other planets via intergalactic travel. Over eight episodes, available to stream as a box-set on Now, we follow a group of female fugitives searching for freedom and uncovering long-buried lies.
The cast has been gathered from far and wide, ranging from relative newcomers to TV like Diany Samba-Bandza to more familiar faces Natasha O’Keeffe, Thomas Turgoose and Eleanor Tomlinson, and established actors Parminder Nagra, Craig Parkinson and Neil Maskell. Here’s who everybody is playing, and the major roles where you may have encountered them before.

This week marks the launch of new Sky Original series Intergalactic, and to mark the occasion we had the pleasure of speaking to several members of this illustrious ensemble. Below find interviews with Parminder Nagra (Bend it Like Beckham) and Craig Parkinson (Line of Duty), as well as Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Rogue One) and Oliver Coopersmith (Tin Star), before ending on Thomas Turgoose (This is England).
We discuss everything, ranging from the remarkable sets the actors worked on, to the costumes, and the characters they’ve been given. We talk about the film’s strong, empowering feminist approach, and why even though who turn up their nose to science-fiction, ought to give this one a go. We ask whether the actors were able to nab any memorabilia from the shoot, and we even chat to Parkinson about Line of Duty. Enjoy!

Sky One’s new sci-fi drama series, Intergalactic, features a cast as stellar as its out-of-this-world settings. On a visit to its impressive set at Manchester’s appropriately named Space Studios, we got to chat to some of the actors who are boldly going into the depths of a fascinating galaxy. For those of us whose biggest source of excitement this past year has been a trip to the shops, it’s a tempting proposition.
The show’s key characters are a ragtag bunch of prisoners aboard the transport ship Hemlock and their guards. They’re forging a new future after they make a break for freedom, with a futuristic Earth’s authoritarian government in hot pursuit. The lively, larky chemistry between the actors is evident from the minute they come bounding in, covered in alarmingly realistic fake blood after filming the violent aftermath of a parasite infestation. Lovely. Oliver Coopersmith,...

The feature film debut from writer and director Pedro C. Alonso, Feedback stars the excellent Eddie Marsan as Jarvis Dolan, a radio personality who encounters a terrible night when the station he works at is terrorised by a group of masked stalkers.
There’s something I get a real kick out of in film, be it survival horror, thriller or drama, is when we spend the length of the film in one single location. That is the case here, with Feedback, with the radio station as our single location. This strong setting along with a top notch cast go a long way into kicking things off strong. There’s a feeling of claustrophobia here, with the atmosphere, as this...

The first look image gives viewers a taste of what to expect from this high octane drama from Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark), Thomas Turgoose (This is England), Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Sex Education), Natasha O’Keeffe (Peaky Blinders, Misfits), Savannah Steyn (The Tunnel, Wannabe), Oliver Coopersmith (Tin Star), Imogen Daines (Black Mirror), newcomer Diany Samba-Bandza (Jack Ryan), Parminder Nagra and Craig Parkinson (Line of Duty) against the backdrop of the galaxy.
The eight-part series tells the story of a fearless young cop and galactic pilot, Ash Harper (Steyn), who has her glittering career ripped away from her after being wrongly convicted of a treasonous crime and exiled to a distant prison colony. But on the way there, Ash’s fellow convicts stage a mutiny and seize control of their prison transfer ship.

A mother and daughter fleeing domestic violence find refuge in a sinister landscape dominated by a disused power station
A strange, semi-hallucinatory film from debut feature director Catherine Linstrum that teeters on the edge of incoherence, and then sometimes teeters in the opposite direction – of all too obvious symbolism. But it hooks into the mind, like a sharp short story, thanks to strong acting and an intuitive use of locations.
Bright newcomer Emilia Jones plays 14-year-old Emma, who was the horrified witness to an assault on her mother (Sienna Guillory) by her deeply disturbed and abusive half-brother (Oliver Coopersmith) who has already done jail time for violence. So she grabs her poor, injured mum and takes off with her in the car, with Emma driving – underage though she is – as far as Snowdonia in north Wales, where they break into an empty house.

"Black Mirror meets Die Hard." Signature Entertainment has debuted an official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Feedback, a new film "from the creators of Rec and The Shallows." This film is actually the feature directorial debut of a Spanish filmmaker, and is about a radio star who experiences the worst night of his life when stalkers assault the radio station where he's working. It seems to be a contained thriller at a radio station when hooligans take over. Eddie Marsan stars as Jarvis Dolan, with a cast including Paul Anderson, Ivana Baquero, Richard Brake, Oliver Coopersmith, Alexis Rodney, Anthony Head, Alana Boden, and Nacho Aldeguer. It's next premiering at FrightFest in the UK coming up soon, which is what this trailer is promoting. This looks intense and terrifying - might be a good one. "You're on the air!" Here's the official UK trailer (+ poster) for Pedro C. Alonso's Feedback,...

Kicking off a TV series with a teenage girl’s face full of blood is a pretty strong indication that it probably won’t get much cheerier from there. “Tin Star,” written and created by Rowan Joffe, doesn’t just use its in medias res opening as a statement of tone and danger, it uses it as a benchmark. By the time the Amazon series is halfway through its freshman season, physical and mental suffering becomes the exhausting, all-encompassing norm. A modern western, told through mild corporate intrigue and heavy doses of vice and violence, it’s an exercise in endurance with few character rewards at the finish line.
The primary target of this anguish is Jim Worth (Tim Roth), a British ex-pat newly relocated to a tiny town nestled in the Canadian Rockies. As the recently appointed police chief, the locals not only see him as a literal outsider,...

Simon Amstell has revealed that he and co-star Oliver Coopersmith kiss in next week's opening episode of Grandma's House. Amstell, who plays himself, will embrace teenager Mark (Coopersmith) in an improvised bathroom scene in the BBC sitcom.
