Two days after local news broke that her mother, Vania Nonnenmacher, died at the age of 75, the 43-year-old model spoke out for the first time on social media.
“Beloved mom, it hurts to know that I won’t be able to hug you anymore, but I know that you will always be watching over us,” she began.

Supermodel Gisele Bündchen‘s mother, Vânia Nonnenmacher, died at the age of 75 on Sunday at Hospital Moinhos de Vento in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
Nonnenmacher’s cause of death was revealed to be cancer. She was a retired bank clerk.
Aside from Bündchen, Nonnenmacher was the mother to five other daughters – Raquel, Graziela, Gabriela, Rafaela and Bündchen’s fraternal twin, Patrícia. Nonnenmacher raised her children in Horizontina, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
