Yesterday, Dewan and her fiancé, Steve Kazee, went all out for the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards 2024. “Mom & dad hit the town,” she captioned some photos of her outfit on Instagram. Conor McGregor vs. Dwayne Johnson: Who Cashed the Bigger Check?
Did Conor McGregor really set a world record with his Road House payday? That’s what the onetime UFC superstar has been bragging about in recent weeks, claiming he’s now “the highest paid first-time actor of all time.” If true — and McGregor, 35, hasn’t disclosed how much he got for his debut role in Amazon’s reboot of the 1989 kickboxing flick — he would beat Dwayne Johnson’s record of $5.5 million for 2002’s Scorpion King. While some have scoffed at his claim, sources indicate he was indeed paid in that ballpark, and given the Irishman’s stature in the martial arts world and the offers he has turned down (he accepted a role opposite Vin Diesel in 2017’s xXx: Return of Xander Cage, only to back out before filming began) it wouldn’t be surprising if some sort of record was broken.

On December 7, the “Auction of Nothing” In support of (Red)’s Fight To End AIDS was co-hosted by Lake Bell and Laura Brown and attended by many stars in Los Angeles.
Sarah Silverman, Melissa McCarthy, Clea Duvall, Lindsay Sloane and Reggie Watts were all among the celebrities at the event.
The brand (Red) aims to involve the private sector in creating awareness and generating funds to combat HIV/AIDS in eight African nations, specifically Eswatini, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia.
AIDS is a chronic disease of the immune system caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). HIV weakens the immune system and makes it difficult for the body to fight off infections and diseases. The virus can be transmitted through contact with infected blood, semen or vaginal fluids.
While there is no cure for HIV/AIDS, medication can effectively manage the infection and prevent the progression of the disease.

“Let’s be honest. Let’s just face it. We needed a poster child for the dry landscape that is menopause,” said Naomi Watts, kicking off the first West Coast event for her Stripes line of menopause-focused beauty and wellness products on March 11 in Santa Monica.
“The reason I called the brand Stripes is because I feel like we have earned it,” she continued. “We can now hold our heads high and know that these cumulative experiences lead to something. We deserve respect and we can feel our best.”
The sold out New Pause Symposium, held in partnership with San Francisco-based midlife digital community The Swell at the Santa Monica Proper Hotel, included a day’s worth of talks by medical experts and the actress’ friends. Among them were actress Molly Ringwald and writer-podcast host Elise Loehnen, previously chief content officer at Goop. Tickets ranged from $195 to $595 and included a dinner with Watts.

Two thousand attendees at the National Pro-Life Summit cast their votes on Saturday for their favorite prospective GOP nominee for president in 2024. The winner is: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. It was the first 2024 straw poll conducted among anti-abortion voters, one of the Republican Party’s most loyal voting blocs.
DeSantis banked more than half of the votes cast, 53.73 percent. Former President Donald Trump placed in a distant second with just 19.22 percent. His former deputy, Mike Pence — who has called often for a national ban on abortion — took home roughly eight percent.

"Someone will die at the end of the day." A fictionalized Virginia Woolf (Joyce Didonato) announces this as she sullenly stares at a dead bird. She's referring to the plot development of her 1925 novel, "Mrs. Dalloway," and she hasn't decided who will die yet in her novel, which would be considered a modernist masterpiece long after her 1941 suicide. She's also echoing her own suicidal dread. She also doesn't know that she's portending another woman's ending.

The tropics have been known to be hot—and heavy. In photos obtained by E! News, Kate Bosworth and Justin Long were spotted enjoying a Pda-packed day at the beach in Kauai, Hawaii on April 22. In the seaside snap, Kate and Justin did not hold back when showing their affection, as they embraced in a passionate kiss while sitting on a beach towel in the sand. For the outing, Kate rocked an eye-catching bright green swimsuit paired with a cream-colored hat. The pair are seemingly in Hawaii for Australian journalist Laura Brown's wedding ceremony, as Kate shared a selfie with the bride on April 23. Melissa McCarthy says Monday night’s InStyle Awards at the Getty Center was her first big public outing since the onset of the pandemic. “I went into a Cvs like two months ago and was like, ‘Uhhh, I don’ know what to do,’” she said from the stage after being presented with this year’s Icon Award from her “Nine Perfect Strangers” co-star Nicole Kidman.
Earlier, on the arrivals carpet, she told me, “This is the first time I’m with humans besides my fella and the humans I bore.”
And that’s when things got emotional. As we were talking, fellow honoree Simone Biles walked by. “Oh, my God, I just love you,” McCarthy said to the Olympic gymnast.
McCarthy began to cry as she told Biles how much she means to her and her young daughters. Wiping away tears, McCarthy said to me, “I gotta get a Kleenex.

A month after reintroducing herself to the world as a transgender woman in Time magazine, Tommy covered InStyle's October beauty issue and sat down with editor-in-chief Laura Brown on the Ladies First podcast to talk further about publicly embracing her true identity.
"My spirit was so attuned to whatever it means to be a woman. I've walked in the privilege of a male body, but [being a woman] is all I've known on the inside," Tommy said. Even before she began her transition, Tommy felt that other trans women could see who she really is. WarnerMedia is announcing a stepped-up commitment to preschool and kids programming across Cartoon Network and streaming service HBO Max, with a goal of reaching 50 original preschool shows in the next two years.
The company made the announcement of the fall programming plans ahead of a virtual upfront presentation to media buyers. HBO Max is ramping up its offerings for advertisers ahead of the launch of an ad-supported tier of its service, which WarnerMedia expects to launch by June.
Cartoon Network, designated as the central kids and family brand for WarnerMedia, has adopted a new tagline “Redraw Your World.” The aim of that message, a press release said, is “to empower kids to feel comfortable with who they are, embrace their uniqueness and believe in their own ability to impact change.” The network said it has also made its first kid-musician-in-residence deal with Nandi Bushell, a 10-year-old viral music star.

Batman Returns is a strange but memorable movie. The Caped Crusader’s face-off with Danny DeVito’s weird mutant Penguin isn’t among the best Bat-films, but it certainly sticks in the brain due to its onslaught of surreal images and as a bonus, it’s also a Christmas flick! But by far the most iconic element is Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman.
Clad in a figure-hitting S&m influenced latex black catsuit with white stitching, the character is extremely kinky (which famously made McDonald’s uncomfortable when putting her on a Happy Meal box). Adding to the dominatrix-chic look is her trademark bullwhip, which Pfeiffer took extensive martial arts lessons prior to filming in order to learn how to wield effectively. Now, it seems she’s not letting that knowledge go to waste as she’s revealed that she keeps it on hand at all times.

More than 25 years after first making an impact on the superhero genre as Catwoman in DC’s Batman Returns, Michelle Pfeiffer switched sides for Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018. Since then, she’s reprised her role as original Wasp Janet Van Dyne for Avengers: Endgame and while at first we weren’t sure when we’d see her in the McU again, we eventually learned that Ant-Man 3 had gotten the go ahead and is moving forward.
Michael Douglas had previously confirmed that he’ll be part of the production as Hank Pym, so it stood to reason that Pfeiffer would be back as his onscreen wife. Elizabeth Debicki is looking to the future — which makes sense, since she was named Women in Film and Max Mara’s “Face of the Future” for 2019.
“No pressure,” Debicki laughed when Variety asked the actress about the honor on the red carpet. “It means a great deal. I have always deeply respected the work that they do. I think they’ve always been incredibly progressive and really ahead of the curve in terms of pushing for female equality and they’re amazing women. These are really women who are making change in the industry.”
Hosted by Maria Giulia Maramotti, Max Mara Vice President of Us Retail and Global Brand Ambassador, and InStyle Editor-In-Chief Laura Brown, the women of Hollywood gathered at Chateau Marmont on Tuesday night to celebrate the young star and laugh and toast over champagne and sliders. What happens when a period film with three queer women goes to the Oscars? It wins Best Actress and absolutely nothing else. That’s what happened on Sunday night when “The Favourite” competed for 10 awards, and it’s also what happened 16 years ago when “The Hours” competed for 9 awards.
SEE2019 Oscars: Full list of winners (and losers) at the 91st Academy Awards
Admittedly, “The Favourite” and “The Hours” have more stylistic differences than similarities, but the similarities are striking. “The Hours” told the parallel stories of three women navigating their queer identities across time periods: author Virginia Woolf (Nicole Kidman), housewife Laura Brown (Julianne Moore) and modern bohemian Clarissa Vaughan (Meryl Streep).
“The Favourite” is only set during one time period, and there’s a lot less existential angst, but it also focuses on three queer women — or at least, three women who use their sexuality to their advantage. It...

Michael K. Williams holds no grudges against “Star Wars.”
The actor’s role was cut from the standalone Han Solo film “Solo” after director Ron Howard’s reshoots conflicted with his schedule. Paul Bettany stepped in and the character was reimagined for the new casting.
“I have not had the chance to see ‘Solo’ but shout out to my cast mates,” Williams told Variety on Saturday at the HFPA and InStyle party at the Toronto International Film Festival. “Even though I didn’t make the final cut, they’re still my cast mates. I love you guys.”
He hasn’t seen ‘Solo’ yet, but “I’m quite sure I’ll get around to it but I’m more interested in getting another shot in being in that galaxy…I would love another opportunity to be in ‘Star Wars.’”

How sweet! Serena Williams is a juggernaut, on and off the tennis court. She constantly shuts down sexism, has discussed positive body image at length, and won her 23rd Grand Slam title while she was casually nine weeks pregnant. But according to a recent interview, she actually considers Kate Middleton to be one of the most impressive women she knows. The tennis legend was asked for her list of "badass women" in an interview with InStyle, and she replied, "Well, obviously Beyoncé. That goes unsaid. Rihanna goes unsaid. Kate Middleton!" Her interviewer, Laura Brown, agreed, "Could you imagine having a baby and then, right after, you put on makeup and go out to greet the public?" Serena countered incredulously, "No, and she was… standing! So she's officially No. 1." (Photo Credit: Getty Images) The interview echoes what Serena has said about the royal in the past. "I was really busy, but I saw the baby,...

In 1998, journalist Susan Orlean authored “The Orchid Thief,” based on her investigation of oddball horticulturalist John Laroche who, hellbent on finding and cloning the rare ghost orchid for profit, was arrested in 1994 for allegedly poaching the endangered orchids at a state preserve in Florida. The book, an instant best seller, was hailed not only for its engrossing profile of Laroche but also the other many colorful characters the author came across along the way and Orlean’s own introspection as she yearned for the same enthusiasm in life that these plant aficionados felt.

Sorry to burst your “Oprah 2020” bubble! Oprah Winfrey dismissed the idea of a potential presidential run in an interview given weeks before her rousing speech at the Golden Globes. “I’ve always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not. And so it’s not something that interests me,” Winfrey told InStyle editor-in-chief Laura Brown in an interview published Thursday. “I don’t have the DNA for it.” “Gayle — who knows me as well as I know myself practically — has been calling me regularly and texting me things, like a woman in the airport saying,...

Fashion, celebrities and film have always had a close relationship, but for Coco Chanel's latest starry advertisement/motion picture "Once And Forever," the lines get blurred with a meta-short about the making of a movie about their esteemed founder. Helmed by Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld, Kristen Stewart, Geraldine Chaplin, Jérémie Elkaïm, François Marthouret, Amanda Harlech, Jamie Bochert, Jake Davies, Baptiste Giabiconi and Laura Brown star in the effort that goes behind-the-scenes of the troubled production of the Coco Chanel "biopic," while also managing to inform viewers about her life in the process. It's a pretty interesting concept that largely works, though there's not much new added to making-movies-is-hell tropes that are trotted out. Check it out below.
