Pink Floyd had to wait before they became a classic rock success story. They wrote the song that predicted their breakthrough on The Dark Side of the Moon, and then their world changed. That album catapulted them to fame and the trappings of it. Bassist Roger Waters almost attacked a fan in 1967, which came a decade before his confrontation with a concert-goer inspired Pink Floyd’s last great album.
Roger Waters considered attacking a Pink Floyd fan a decade before he assaulted a concert-goer
After parting ways with their creative leader, Syd Barrett, in 1968, Pink Floyd waded through several years of mixed results as a psychedelic band. When they shifted gears and headed in a more prog-rock direction in the early 1970s, it sparked the fire that burned brightly for most of the decade.

USA has found its Biggie and Tupac: Wavvy Jonez and Marcc Rose have been cast as Christopher Wallace (aka Biggie Smalls aka the Notorious B.I.G.) and Tupac Shakur in the USA Network pilot “Unsolved: The Murders of Biggie and Tupac.”
Both are relative unknowns who bear a resemblance to the late hip-hop superstars they will portray.
Rose previously played Shakur in the Universal feature “Straight Outta Compton,” while this is the first acting role for Jonez.
Jonez, a rapper who recently released the mixtape “R.E.D. D.O.P.E.” (Real Everyday Drama Doing Over People’s Expectation), was found during a nationwide open casting call and chosen via video audition out of hundreds of entries.

Another Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. story is headed to the screen. USA Networks announced a pilot pickup for “Unsolved,” a scripted true crime series that chronicles the two major police investigations into the murders of the iconic rappers.
The drama is based on the experiences of former Lapd Detective Greg Kading, who led multiple law-enforcement task forces investigating the murders and wrote the book “Murder Rap: The Untold Story of Biggie Smalls & Tupac Shakur Murder Investigations.” Kading will be consulting on the pilot script, written by Kyle Long (“Suits”).
“The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” director Anthony Hemingway is set to direct and executive produce, along with Mark Taylor through their Hemingway | Taylor production company, Kading and Long.

It's official: Chris Rock needs to host the Oscars every year. The whole idea of other hosts has been tried, and it has failed, from the soul-withering void that was James Franco to the locust plague they call Seth MacFarlane. Why would you ever not call Rock for this gig? Ellen DeGeneres and Steve Martin are always welcome, but Rock is just the undisputed king of award-show hosts, and despite all the other things he can do, lampooning a roomful of bloated Hollywood egos is what he does best. He...

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Diddy's Bad Boy Records, the rapper gathered many of the label's original artists together for an epic performance at the Bet Awards on Sunday. Lil' Kim looked like this just a couple months ago ... so her appearance last night was a big surprise! The 40-year-old rapper joined Diddy, Ma$e, Faith Evans and 112 for a Bad Boy records reunion performance at the Bet Awards on Sunday, where the group performed a number of hits including "Peaches & Cream," "Mo Money, Mo Problems," "Feels So Good" and "Love Like This." Pharrell Williams, French Montana, The Lox and Chris Brown all took part in the epic tribute as well. Warning: Some graphic language in the video below. Kim popped up midway through the performance, coming out of the trap door in the stage Diddy fell into only moments earlier. See her entrance around the 6-minute mark. Sporting blonde hair and a sheer black bodysuit, Lil' Kim looked great a year after giving birth to daughter Royal Reign. She was seen heading to a party after the show,...

Alicia Florrick has a gay brother who happens to be one of her closest confidantes — an inconvenient truth my brain struggled mightily to suppress during this week’s installment of The Good Wife.
After all, to acknowledge the Alicia-Owen bond while big sis made not a peep of protest during a homophobic rant by a potential fat-cat campaign donor (a fantastically nasty Ed Asner) raised some painful questions: Has a heated run for state’s attorney cracked Alicia’s moral compass? Has her desire for victory and thirst for power turned her into a “bad person”? Or has Alicia always...

Mo money, mo problems, as the Notorious Big once memorably sang. Of course his real problem turned out to be bullets, which might easily have been stopped if he invested his own personal wealth into constructing a kevlar suit of armour for himself, possibly with a Bat-themed decoration and headdress. Because even the biggest hip-hop superstar’s fortune pales in comparison the the sort of cash that rules everything around comic book characters.
There’s plenty of masked vigilantes that just manage to scrape a living when they’re out of their tights – Spider-Man especially is chronically broke – but there’s equally as many superheroes who are not only well off, but actual billionaires. As in, when they’re not getting up to whatever shenanigans that make up the majority of their days – fighting crimes, doing crimes, or otherwise – these comic book moneybags are sitting in their mansions,...

Larry Cohen’s 1985 film The Stuff my not be a classic, or even a horror classic come to that. But it is one of the best schlock horror releases that stands the test of time. I first came across this film after watching a few Troma films with my friends in my teens. While I loved the chaos and comedy of Lloyd Kaufman’s films they never really made much of an impression.
So when I saw a trailer for The Stuff I was prepared for much of the same. At the time I wasn’t aware of Larry Cohen’s body of work, though I’d watched Q the Winged Serpent without any knowledge of its filmmakers. Stuff takes its DNA from Q. A homage to the 1950s B-Movies. A real drive-in horror.
But underneath the ice cream and over the top special effects is a solid message. Okay...
