Betsy's first public performance was at age 4, singing "God Bless America" at the junior-senior banquet of the high school where her mother taught.
The very first song Betsy ever learned, at age 2-3, was "Loch Lomond", and when she grew up and traveled to Scotland, she fell in love with the Isle of Skye, which turned out to have been the home of her great-grandparents.
