Writer: Rick Alverson
Producers: Brooke Bernard, Patrick Hibler, Dawn Krantz, Ryan Zacarias
U.S. Distributor: Rights Available
Cast: John C. Reilly, Tim Heidecker, Gregg Turkington
I’m late to the game when it comes to Rick Alverson. Already three films into his filmography (and up to three projects for the near future), my introductory course to the wry humor and dry tone chez Alverson’s The Comedy. Aching to check out what will surely be an uncomfortable knuckle-ball. Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington once again team with Alverson for this serving.
Gist: Set in the Mojave Desert, the film follows a broken-down comedian (Turkington) playing clubs across the Southwest, working his way to Los Angeles to meet his estranged daughter.
Release Date: Filming was set or began this January and if it did then we’ll be seeing this potentially cross over into Europe for a fest premiere.
