- David Blazer was born in 1952 in London. He received degrees at the Central School of Art and Wimbledon School of Art. After several years of teaching ceramics at Sir John Cass School of Art in Whitechapel he applied to work initially as a mould maker at Jim Henson's Hamstead workshop on the film Dark Crystal. He was then moved to the "Gelfling" unit working under Wendy Froud and, once filming had begun, to Elstree Studios on puppet maintenance.
