The entertainment industry is mourning the loss of Bob Barker. The iconic TV personality died on Aug. 26 at the age of 99. Barker’s career spanned several decades, and while he was well-known as a game show host, TV personality, and animal activist the world over, he remained pretty private about his personal life. Bob Barker spent nearly forty years married to the same woman and never recovered after her death. The duo never had any children, but Bob Barker was completely alright with that.
Bob Barker and Dorothy Jo Gideon had no children
Barker and his wife, Dorothy Jo Gideon, eloped in 1945 and enjoyed an epic love story. They met as high school students and quickly fell in love. They married in their early 20s and worked their way into the entertainment business together. The couple was never tabloid fodder and maintained an incredibly private relationship despite their high-profile careers.

Since its debut in 2020, Ted Lasso has become a cultural phenomenon that has taken the world by storm. The show has captured the hearts of millions with its positive message, heartwarming characters, and hilarious storylines. Ted Lasso’s cast recently visited the White House for a sit-down with President Biden and the First Lady, Jill Biden. One of the show’s stars, Brett Goldstein, has opened up about the experience, and it’s safe to say that it was “awkward,” to say the least.

When it comes to gift giving, President Joe Biden is quite the romantic. In an interview on "The Drew Barrymore Show" that aired on Dec. 19, the Bidens sat down with the talk-show host to chat about their relationship and family traditions ahead of the holidays. During their conversation, Dr. Jill Biden revealed that the president gives her the same thoughtful gift every year: a handwritten poem.
"He has a book that he bought for me, and every year he writes a poem," Jill shared. When Barrymore asked Joe if he writes the poems every year himself, he replied, "Of course I do. I have a lot to write about." However, he admitted the sentimental present "doesn't quite do it" on its own, and he's sure to get a material gift as well. The NFL, its commissioner Roger Goodell, the Washington Commanders and their controversial owner Dan Snyder just got slammed by a scathing lawsuit from DC Attorney General Karl Racine.
Launched off the District of Columbia’s Consumer Protection Procedures Act, Racine is going after the league, team and officials for intentionally deceiving locals over the results and integrity of an investigation into allegations of a toxic workplace, sexual harassment and sexual assault at the newishly minted Commanders.
“For years the team and its owner have caused very real and very serious harm and then lied about it to dodge accountability and to continue to rake in profits,” Racine said Thursday in a press conference unveiling the suit. “So far they seem to have gotten away with it, but that stops today.”

A federal lawsuit alleges that NBCUniversal, the National Football League, and recording artist Carrie Underwood are among those who plagiarized a YouTube song to create the Sunday Night Football opening theme song “Game On” that precedes the athletic action. Snf is typically one of the primetime ratings leaders during its season and a bright spot for the televised NFL games.
The lawsuit was filed in the Us District Court for the Southern District of New York by songwriters Heidi Merrill, Alex Wong, Jeff Cohen and Niclas Lundin, who claim they created a slightly different version of the Sunday Night Football theme song performed by Underwood. Read the complaint here.
The lawsuit also names various Underwood-affiliated music publishers and her recording company, as well as songwriters Chris DeStefano, Brett James and Underwood producer Mark Bright.

Along with Twitch, Travis, Allison, Lauren and Katherine, one of the names that immediately comes to mind when thinking of So You Think You Can Dance is Alex Wong. Known as Alex Freakin’ Wong to the fans of the show, this incredible dancer is always a highlight when he comes back as an all-star on Sytycd. This season once again he created magic on stage and thrilled the audience, the judges, Nakul and Jaja in the Bollywood number he did on the August 17th Top 10 performance show.

Nakul Dev Mahajan is known as Hollywood’s Bollywood choreographer and has, along with training students in the art of Bollywood dance at his Bollywood dance academies, been making contestants naach to the Hindi film music beat on the popular dance reality show So You Think You Can Dance (Sytycd) since Season 4. With many memorable numbers including his first to ‘Dhoom Taana’ featuring Sytycd super couple Joshua and Katee, the choreographer has, with a folk classic flavor, given audiences a wonderful view into this amazing dance style.
I recently chatted with the choreographer, in two wonderful interviews, about all things bolly-naach including his two numbers on Sytycd so far this season, his special judging appearance on a popular Indian dance reality show and so much more. One of the things we like to do here at BollySpice is not only focus on the world of Bollywood, but also to shine the light on artists outside of Hindi films. This week, we are featuring dancer Alex Wong. Because of his outstanding technique and talent, he is known as Alex “Freakin” Wong to the fans of the popular Us dance show, So You Think You Can Dance. A classically trained ballet dancer, he was a soloist with Miami City Ballet when he first auditioned for the dance reality show in 2009. He was unable to compete that season because of a contract issue with the ballet company. The next year Alex was back and was on his way to winning the show when tragedy struck and he tore his achilles tendon. That didn’t stop this amazing dancer. It was a great season this year for Bollywood on Sytycd…
You know, it was a little later than normal when they contacted me for this season. I never take anything for granted. That is just who I am. Anything that comes to me I embrace it I just feel a sense of gratitude, even if it is something that happens every year for me, I never, ever feel that it is going to happen no matter what.

The Top 10 became 8 this week on So You Think You Can Dance with the first appearance by this season's All-Stars, which included fan faves Nick Lazzarini, tWitch, Brandon Bryant, Allison Holker, Jaimie Goodwin and (finally!) Alex Wong. Along with guest judge Benjamin Millepied (French ballet dancer/choreographer and married to Natalie Portman), judges Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy were clearly more pleased with the dancers this week after last week's disappointing Mia Michaels' tribute episode. It also probably helped that many of the dances were choreographed by Travis Wall, Nakul Dev Mahajan, Dmitry Chaplin and Emmy nominees Stacey Tookey and Spencer Liff.

The So You Think You Can Dance All-Stars returned to dance with the Top 10 contestants Wednesday night — and look who we have here! Season 7 standout Alex Freaking Wong, who exited early because of an Achilles tendon injury and had to sit out last summer, after being invited back as an All-Star, because he’d hurt the Other Achilles tendon. I would guess that Alex Wong’s abs positively loathe his Achilles tendons for denying them their rightful opportunity to glisten on national television whenever possible.

"So You Think You Can Dance" season 8 is going to be glittered with big stars. After tapping Megan Mullally as a guest judge, the Fox reality show will also welcome dancing queen Lady GaGa as another guest judge sometime this season.

Prep those ear plugs: Mary Murphy is back as a permanent judge for Season 8 of So You Think You Can Dance (premiering tonight on Fox at 8 p.m. Et), reuniting with exec producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe. The venerable dance-scapade will return to the old format of 20 finalists hoofing it together, and bring back the “All Star” partners once the contestants are cut down to a Top 10. “It’s kind of the best of both worlds,” Murphy tells EW. “Nigel’s a smart man.”

Enjoying some quality time together, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were spotted having lunch in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon (August 12).
The talk show chick and her “Arrested Development” dame looked to be in good spirits as they feasted on a delicious vegan meal together.
In related news, Ellen recently appeared on “So You Think You Can Dance” as a substituted for injured contestant Alex Wong.
“I had so much fun and it broke my heart when I saw the injury, and as a joke I said it would be fun to do and it became a reality. This is so fun, I hope this is an inspiration, everybody, National Dance Day was for me. It doesn't matter if you have ever had a dance class in your life, which I haven’t, maybe you couldn't tell. But everybody should do this, it is so much fun.”...

Last night's seventh season finale of So You Think You Can Dance was an endurance test - not only for the dancers, but for the fans who sat through the whole two hours.
That wasn't the worst thing ever, though, because there was real suspense. By the end of the finale, we were still unsure who was going to be America’s favorite dancer.
Like last season, we had our favorite (Jeanine Mason) but wished the remaining competitors equally well entering the night. This season's trio was more than deserving.
Modest spoiler alert - Robert Roldan was eliminated first. Sorry Robert. That left Kent Boyd and Lauren Froderman as America's top two, and a serious toss-up for the title.
That shouldn't surprise viewers who have tuned in for much or all of the season. He was definitely the most improved this season, but probably not in the same league.

America’s (newest) favorite dancer will be crowned Thursday night. And even though we have to wait two days for our winner’s name to be revealed, So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley has an early prediction: “If I was a betting woman, and I had to put some money where my mouth is, I would probably go for Kent ,” Deeley said in a conference call with reporters this afternoon. “But that’s not to do with his technical ability, it’s more to do with the reaction that I see from the screaming girls in the studio.

After an episode in which all the remaining finalists actually danced, the Nigel Lythgoe-declared So You Think You Can Dance front-runner Lauren Froderman was hospitalized for dehydration after the show last night. At the end of the show, Cat said she was being seen by medics. Later, previously eliminated injured contestant Alex Wong, who was in the audience, wrote on Twitter that "I think Lauren will be fine to compete next week. She was dehydrated...

They couldn't do it three straight weeks, right?
After Alex Wong and Ashley Galvan couldn't even perform the last two weeks, rendering the results show effectively moot, Billy Bell was in the same position last night.
Only he could have danced, yet opted not to.
Billy, who didn't perform with the top six Wednesday, was on the block with Robert Roldan and Jose Ruiz. Lauren Froderman, Kent Boyd and Adechike Torbert were safe.
Thursday, Billy sat in the audience and didn’t participate in the group dance routine, assuring us he was following in Alex and Ashley's injured footsteps and going home.
But that's not how it went down this time.
Billy Bell won a surprise reprieve last night.
When it came time to announce the results, Nigel announced that he, Adam and Mia "haven’t made up our minds, but we came to a conclusion." Cryptic and non-committal.

So You Think You Can Go a Whole Week Without an Injury?!
It's getting ridiculous. For the third consecutive week, an injury meant the field was down a body. Are the dancers perhaps being pushed too hard? Is it bad luck and nothing more?
Will it mean yet another results show with zero tension tonight?
Maybe, maybe not on that last point. Nigel seemed to suggest that Billy Bell, who hurt his knee during rehearsals, should be able to bounce back by next week. Alex Wong and Ashley Galvan were not so fortunate the previous two weeks, though. Who knows.
The five contestants who actually performed did three dances last night, performing with an All-Star, with another contestant, and by themselves. Here's a rundown:
Contestants and All-Stars
Lauren Froderman & Twitch (Hip-Hop): Guest panelist Kenny Ortega told Lauren after the routine, which featured her straddling Twitch, bronco-style, in a Wild West-themed bit,...

So You Think You Can Dance lost its second dancer to injury this week, having eliminated Alex Wong last week. Ashley Galvan was automatically placed in the bottom three because she couldn't dance, and the judges sent her home. Nigel Lythgoe told her, "both of the doctors have said to me, you need between three and five weeks rest" so "I have to let you go this week." That meant Billy Bell was saved elimination...

Ashley Galvan's seemingly modest rib injury proved season-ending last night on So You Think You Can Dance, making for the second consecutive week we've said goodbye to a dancer who couldn't even perform or dance for their life - a major drag.
Unlike Alex Wong's exit last week after lacerating his Achilles, Ashley's "rib bruise" seemed innocuous enough to guarantee she'd be moving on to the final six.
Alas, the bruise was worse than expected, and she's now out, leaving Lauren Froderman as the lone female representative of the final six dancers this season.
"It sucks," Ashley said of her elimination, but "I do have something to look forward to, which is the tour. Going on the tour is such an amazing opportunity."
Ashley Galvan's injury bought Billy Bell a reprieve.

The contestants still standing at the end of this summer's grueling, injury-filled season of "So You Think You Can Dance" hit the road this fall, and producers have laid out a pretty rigorous schedule for them.
You might remember last year's experimental fall season didn't even get a tour. Back-to-back seasons running into January auditions made it too difficult to negotiate.
So who can you expect to see on the road -- aside from the screaming hoards of tween fans? Cat Deeley, who announced the news on the July 14 episode, didn't spill anything other than the fact that the all-stars would be somehow involved. You can probably assume the rest of the top 10 will be joining them, with the exception of injured Alex Wong, who's now home recovering from surgery.
Here are all the details on when you'll be able to catch them:
Sept. 19 New Orleans, La, Lakefront Arena

Sigh. One week after Alex Wong tore his Achilles tendon and was declared Dfy, not only costing So You Think You Can Dance a fan favorite but rendering that entire week's worth of performances more or less moot, Ashley Galvan was on the shelf with a rib injury.
She did not dance Wednesday and will be in the bottom three.
Unlike Alex, her status is likely to remain questionable through tonight, so if she makes it through but still can't dance, she's out of the show. Who will join her on the block?
Here's our take on last night's Sytycd performances ...
Lauren Froderman with Mark Kanemura (Tahitian): High energy, but the first Tahitian display on the show can be summed up as such: "I have no idea what to say." - Nigel
You gotta love this feedback, too: Mia Michaels says Lauren looked like a duck in heat, and...

Without Alex Wong, So You Think You Can Dance is a lot less dance-tastic, but the Top 7 must move on. This week the contestants will all take on two routines once again, one with a fellow dancer and one with an All-Star (except for one, who's stuck with two All-Star dances because of the math).
SYTYCDism has some spoilers for who's dancing what, and based on some of their info, we can try to fill in the gaps.

Who didn't shed a tear last week over Alex Wong's early exit from 'So You Think You Can Dance?' The 23-year-old dancer, who'd given up his position at the Miami Ballet to be on the show, had won over both the audience and the judges with his astonishing versatility.
He seemed a good bet to win this season. Now, he faces an operation to repair his ruptured Achilles tendon and three months of recovery. Nigel Lythgoe told Alex that "of course" he is invited back next season. Alex talked to TV Squad about his brief time on the show and whether he plans on taking Nigel up on his invitation.

Okay, I admit it: I cried when So You Think You Can Dance judge Nigel Lithgow announced that contestant Alex Wong was going to have to leave the show due to an injury. I'm sure I was in good company. Like most viewers, I replayed the stunning hip hop routine Alex did with Twitch at least half a dozen times. Wow. Besides, there isn't another reality show on television that provides so many sobfests. Whether it's in homage to a fluid contemporary dance routine or in solidarity with a gushing contestant, I can count on judge Adam Shankman (who I want to be my very own Bff) to get the waterworks going. In fact, I imagine people in living rooms around the country grabbing for tissues as soon as Adam tears up. Like Adam,...

Alex Wong has said that he was always open to trying different genres on So You Think You Can Dance. The ballet dancer was sent home from the reality show on Thursday after an earlier injury was found to require surgery which would prevent him from continuing with the competition. He told Digital Spy: "This week I had the foxtrot and Bollywood all ready to go and I would have loved to get Latin ballroom as well. Anything, really. "I'm up for all the styles because there's (more)...

It's with a heavy heart that Alex Wong said goodbye to "So You Think You Can Dance" Thursday night (July 8) after a serious injury to his Achilles tendon pulled him from the competition.
Tears were shed by his fellow dancers and the audience alike, sharing in his frustration that a ballet dancer who had just electrified the competition to an unprecedented level the week before with his hip-hop routine, would have to leave before his full potential could play out.
In the interview with Wong backstage, we see just how emotional he is. He's been incredibly gracious about the turn of events, but it is satisfying to hear him admit that "I was really pissed off" about the having his "Sytycd" experience cut short so abruptly.
On Friday, July 9, Wong talked with the press more about his plan for recovery, his possible return to the show and his experience overall.

Alex Wong has expressed his disappointment over being forced to leave the seventh season of So You Think You Can Dance because of an injury. The 23-year-old tore his Achilles tendon while rehearsing on Tuesday and was left unable to perform for judges, which automatically placed him in the bottom three on elimination night. It was later revealed that the injury was worse than expected and required surgery that would prevent Wong from dancing for at least three months. (more)...
