It.s bad luck to see the bride in her wedding gown before the ceremony. It.s bad luck to give a knife as a gift. And, apparently, it.s bad luck to have Johnny Knoxville crash your wedding. The pranksman famously pulled one over on Jarrod Brom and Kimberly Peeler in the Jackass movie Bad Grandpa, wreaking havoc on the wedding cake and table setup. Now the couple has filed for divorce. TMZ reports that Brom and Peeler are separating, two years after they were featured in Bad Grandpa. The film featured Knoxville suited up in prosthetics as Irving Zisman, a dirty old timer palling around with his on-screen grandson, played by fellow pranksman Jackson Nicoll. Together they embarked on a journey across America, stealing from a convenience store, knocking over promotional displays and road signs, and scaring the crap out of bystanders along the way. One particular scene...

In this Jackass spin-off, Johnny Knoxville plays 86-year-old Irving Zisman, a sex-obsessed octogenarian who takes his eight-year-old grandson Billy (Jackson Nicoll) on a road trip to meet his estranged, deadbeat father. During their journey, Irving takes time out to party with male strippers, make romantic overtures to bingo players and persuade Billy to enter a beauty pageant. Ribald laughs come thick and fast as Johnny and team con the public with a series of out-there stunts.

One thing I wondered when watching Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa was how many of the “real” people were actually planted, call me cynical but it is something that you can’t help but think, especially when the joke seems to go a little too far. Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa .5 answers this question by not only revealing some of the scenes that never made it to the movie but also giving a glimpse behind the scenes of the film.
When I started to watch Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa .5 I expected to be watching the film again but with the added scenes, but this is not what you get. This is more of a documentary looking at the making of the film and...

Left wanting more "Bad Grandpa"? Well, you're in luck. The kind (and twisted) folks behind last fall's prank-filled and completely inappropriate hit are back with the all-new "Bad Grandpa .5" -- and wait until you get a load of the trailer for the in-between-quel, debuting exclusively on Moviefone.
Of course, Johnny Knoxville is back as the titular bad grandpa, Irving Zisman, as is his partner in crime, "Billy," played by Jackson Nicoll. Getting in on the action this time around, however, are "Jackass" co-creator Spike Jonze (you may know him better as the Academy Award-winning screenwriter and director of "Her") as well as two-time Oscar nominee Catherine Keener. No big deal.
You can own "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa .5" on digital June 3 and DVD July 8. Let the mayhem begin.

The MTV Movie Awards are coming your way on Sunday. The nominations this year, particularly for Movie of the Year, were interesting. I don't know that the wins will be, though, because frankly it seems like another young adult adaptation is poised to dominate after we got a bit of a breather from that sort of thing last year. I have no idea what I'm doing here. Yeah, the public votes, but I imagine there's plenty of rigging going on, too. So against reason, I'll try to predict them anyway. Don't use them for your office pool or anything (if you happen to work in an office so chill as to have an MTV Movie Awards pool, that is). Just try to follow my logic below and feel free to tell me why I'm wrong in the comments section. Best Kiss Ashley Benson, James Franco & Vanessa Hudgens, "Spring Breakers" Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Scarlett Johansson,...

Stories We Tell illustrated the family history of director Sarah Polley with a blend of real and fabricated archive footage; The Act Of Killing caused outrage in certain quarters by offering an Indonesian mass-murderer the chance to re-enact his crimes; and Bad Grandpa became the first narrative feature to include a documentary flashback sequence in which its protagonist sucks off an anthropomorphic fish. Is it just me or are the MTV Movie Awards trying to be a little more respectable? Yeah, stuff like "Identity Thief" and "We're the Millers" picked up multiple nominations this morning, but prestige Oscar players "American Hustle" and "The Wolf of Wall Street" led the field with eight each, besting even "The Hunger Games." And Best Picture Oscar winner "12 Years a Slave" is in there for Movie of the Year. Color me surprised, that's all. No, no one around here is taking the MTV Movie Awards too seriously. I find myself endlessly fascinated by them, though, as a marker for, I don't know, youth progression? The "Twilight" years are thankfully behind us and we can all be happy for that (and boy was it a s**t-show for fans of that franchise when the final installment was mostly snubbed last year). The "Hunger Games" era doesn't seem to be so oppressive,...

Leonardo DiCaprio will get another shot at a best actor trophy, though this one will be in the shape of a golden bucket of popcorn: The actor is up for Best Male Performance at this year's MTV Movie Awards for his turn in Wolf of Wall Street. Of course, he'll have to go through Matthew McConaughey again, who's up for Dallas Buyers Club – the role he just won an Oscar for – though if DiCaprio plays his cards right he might pick up Best Shirtless Performance.

So will the Oscar for best makeup and hairstyling go to Stephen Prouty for his impressive transformation of Johnny Knoxville's hysterical and horny 86-year-old Irving Zisman in "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa"? It's certainly a triumph of old school craft, which required a complete re-imagining to believably pull it off and provide Knoxville with better flexibility for his comedic turn. Prouty and his makeup team went on the road like Irving and grandson Billy (Jackson Nicoll) in the movie. Unlike the previous "Jackass" movies, though, they streamlined the original sculpture so Knoxville could be more expressive. The demands of the movie also required an upgrade from foam latex to silicone and the makeup team went out of its way to streamline the pieces so they were softer and thinner and had more natural movement. For a 10-piece silicone prosthetic make-up job (including faux genitals) with hairpieces, the makeup team had it down to under.

Johnny Knoxville returns in the fourth big screen Jackass movie to date, Bad Grandpa. Bringing back his elderly character Irving Zisman, the caper is the first in the series to use an actual narrative, and was one of the most successful comedies at the box office in 2013.
The film is available to watch online now without a subscription, thanks to blinkbox.
Here are six reasons to cancel tonight's plans and watch Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa now.
1. The storyline actually works

Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa Proving the candid camera is alive and well, Johnny Knoxville (in makeup that totally deserves its Oscar nomination) leaves no lines uncrossed posing as foul-mouthed, boozing, womanizing Irv Zissman on the road with his eight-year-old grandson Billy (Jackson Nicoll) and faking folks out along the way. Taking a page from Borat, the movie has a narrative that actually works as it gives reasons for the hidden-camera scenes woven into the storyline: the plot, such as it is, has a newly widowed Irv stuck driving the boy cross-country to his deadbeat dad when his crack-whore mom goes to jail. Some of the gags work (Irv tries mailing the boy parcel post, signs the boy up for a child beauty pageant and flies headfirst through a thrift store's plate...

It’s not easy making a great movie, but it’s even harder making a great trailer. Like all advertising, movie trailers have evolved in the last few decades to become a genuine pop culture event. An effective trailer can do wonders for a film, especially for a film that doesn’t come with a built-in audience. There’s no faster way to create buzz than with a good trailer, and a well made trailer can turn a movie from a first-time director starring a bunch of then-unknowns into the most-buzzed about movie for weeks. Meanwhile a poor trailer can doom a movie right from the start. Every year there are but a few trailers that, independent of the film they’re promoting, capture everyone’s full attention. Here are the trailers of 2013 that were able to do that best.
Please note: This is Ricky’s list. Deepayan’s list will follow next week.

Everyone’s heard of the Jackass movies even if they haven’t seen them. Movies where people with an extremely high pain threshold put their minds and bodies to the test in various dares and pranks. These movies have been put to the test in the public’s eye as an interactive form of movie watching where the main characters (in what could almost be considered a documentary style) play pranks on the public and on each other and, so far, the films have been welcomed into society.

Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa opens in Mexico until next week (11/29) but Johnny Knoxville already visited the city to support the release. Together with director Jeff Tremaine, producer Derek Freda and co-star Jackson Nicoll, Knoxville met with the press for a short conference and, actually, leaved all the crazy fun for another time. There was no bad grandpa makeup or anything weird, just a regular 18-minute talk with Knoxville and Tremaine as protagonists. The most interesting subject discussed was co-writer Spike Jonze's character, which didn't make the final cut of Bad Grandpa and most likely will be seen on the Blu-Ray. In the gallery below you can read more about Knoxville, Jonze and Bad Grandpa with the top quotes from the Mexico City press conference! Jackass Presents:...

The science fiction drama Ender's Game has topped the Us box office.
Harrison Ford's latest movie attracted considerable controversy ahead its of release due to the original Ender's Game author Orson Scott Card's anti-gay comments, but still managed to earn $28m in its debut.
Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa finished in second position with $20.5m, after dominating the competition last weekend.
Johnny Knoxville jokingly revealed to Digital Spy that it wasn't easy filming the movie because he was constantly hit by co-star Jackson Nicoll.

With "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa" the No. 1 movie at the box office, young star Jackson Nicoll stopped by "Live with Kelly and Michael" to chat about the flick. The 9-year-old was absolutely priceless as he shot down Kelly Ripa for calling him "cute as a button." "Buttons aren't cute," he quips.
Johnny Knoxville shares the stage with Nicoll in the most recent "Jackass" movie, and Nicoll says he's been a fan of all of the franchise's predecessors. Still, he thinks he had something to add to "Bad Grandpa."
"He's a smart aleck," Nicoll says of his costar. "He's dumb and smart but we're dumb and smart. He makes good ideas for the movie but I make a lot better ones."
Nicoll is currently in elementary school and says only some of his peers know about his fame. His first movie role was in "The Fighter," and he says he only...

After "Gravity" spent three weekends at the top of the box office, Johnny Knoxville's "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa" was the first film to take the No. 1 spot from the space odyssey.
The latest from the "Jackass" crew adds a new twist on the MTV series' winning movie formula. This new film, which stars Knoxville and Jackson Nicoll and was directed by Jeff Tremaine, is a hidden camera comedy that actually has a plot tying its various pranks and stunts together. Audiences clearly were interested, as "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa" had the second-biggest opening of all the "Jackass" movies, coming in behind only "Jackass 3-D."
"Gravity," meanwhile, is continuing its incredibly strong run in theaters. After opening to $55.8 million, the flick has gone on to rake in almost $200 million in the United States alone and a total of $364 million worldwide. It still brought in an estimated $20.3 million in its fourth weekend of release,...

Jackass Presents Bad Grandpa
Written by Spike Jonze, Johnny Knoxville, and Jeff Tremaine
Directed by Jeff Tremaine
USA, 2013
“You can get away with a lotta stuff. You just gotta try.” That line from Jackass Presents Bad Grandpa is not only an adequate description of the movie itself, but will one day serve as a fine epitaph for its star, Johnny Knoxville. Ever since the creation of the TV series Jackass, Knoxville’s career has enjoyed the most success when he has tried to get away with things most people would never consider. So it goes with Bad Grandpa: the most daring stunts draw the biggest laughs, but the movie is not always as daring as it wishes it was.
The premise has been tried before in previous Jackass films: Knoxville, hiding behind old-man makeup, goes out into the general populace as senior citizen Irving Zisman. As Zisman, he can...

The Johnny Knoxville hidden camera comedy film debuted at number one with $32m, while Gravity slipped to second place with $20.3m.
Sandra Bullock's Gravity was the film to beat this weekend as it has remained in the number one spot for three weeks in a row since breaking box office records on its debut weekend earlier this month. Its total gross is now $199.8.
Bad Grandpa features Knoxville dressed up as an 86-year-old man who goes on a road trip across the Us with his grandson (Jackson Nicoll). Cameras were hidden as the duo performed stunts and pranks.
The film was written by Knoxville, Spike Jonze and Jeff Tremaine, who also served as director.

Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa snapped Gravity's three-week reign as the No.1 film at the box office. The fourth installment of the Jackass movie series earned $32 million in its debut weekend. Johnny Knoxville stars as an 86-year-old grandpa (with the help of some serious makeup), traveling across the country with his 8-year-old grandson (Jackson Nicoll). Gravity, which is inching close to earning $200 million domestically and also spent three weeks at No.1, raked in $20.3 million and came in at No.2. Captain Phillips continued to fare well with movie-goers, nabbing the No.3 spot with $11.8 million. Ridley Scott's crime thriller, The Counselor, starring Michael Fassbender, Javier...

It’s no secret that Jackass isn’t exactly the spry fountain of reckless, ball-busting youth that it used to be, and I’m not sure if that’s anybody’s fault. With three mainline films now under its belt, cast members all in their late thirties and early forties, and both a recovered addict and a tragically deceased comrade among their ranks, the Jackass crew has been through a lot, and personally I just don’t know if they have another traditional Jackass-style movie in them. Of course, I’d love to be proven wrong down the road, but until then, at least we have Jackass ringleader (and arguably most fearless stuntman) Johnny Knoxville to dress up as a dirty geezer and stick his junk in a vending machine.
Assuming that Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa is just a compilation of new skits from Knoxville’s “old man” character...

Scoring a lofty $1.4 million premiering in North American theaters on Thursday night (October 24), Paramount and MTV Films' Jackass Presents: "Bad Grandpa" is already earning more money than fans and critics originally thought.
Paramount mentioned that "Bad Grandpa" is a "Jackass" spinoff, predicting the the movie's profit would score in the $20 million-plus range, which was considered well below the last two Jackass films. Others have stated that it could approach $30 million, considering the appeal of the prank-and-punk franchise.
Per the synopsis: '"Bad Grandpa' stars Johnny Knoxville as signature character Irving Zisman, a crotchety 86-year-old, and Jackson Nicoll as his 8-year-old grandson Billy. The outrageous duo embark on a hidden-camera road trip across America, performing stunts and punking people. Along the way they encounter, among others, male strippers, disgruntled child beauty pageant contestants and bikers."

The Selfish Giant (15)
(Clio Barnard, 2013, UK) Conner Chapman, Shaun Thomas, Sean Gilder. 91 mins
In the tradition of Kes, or Fish Tank, this offers a child's-eye view of poverty that's too strong for real-life kids of the same age. Despite the fairytale origins, miracles are in short supply in this Bradford suburb, where two drop-out mates scavenge for opportunities. But the balance between harsh realism and mythical lyricism is beautifully struck, and the two leads really are miraculous.
Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa (15)

If you're fans of Johnny Knoxville and his Jackass franchise, then you're going to absolutely love their new film Bad Grandpa. Just the trailers for this movie were hilarious, but they do save some of the best parts for the actual film. I was busting a gut laughing so hard while watching it I've enjoyed watching the Jackass crew try to kill themselves over the years, but the pranks they play on people in this movie are ridiculously funny.
When you go to a Jackass film you know exactly what you're getting yourself into. But as can already tell from the trailers, this one is a bit different as it actually has a narrative. It follows 86-year-old Irving Zisman as he goes on a road trip to take his 8-year-old grandson to his father because his mom is going to prison. Along the way they form a bond and friendship with each other.

I think it might be safe to assume that Jackass 3D might be the last true Jackass film we get. Not only because of the death of Ryan Dunn, but with #3, you really started to see guys who realize that as they get older, throwing yourself into harms way isn’t as fun as it used to be. Youthful exuberance turns into playing things just a little bit more cautiously. That last couples of sentences are somewhat bittersweet, as I really like Jackass, with that 3rd movie being my favorite. Hopefully I’m wrong and a 4th movie will show up at our doorstep in a couple years time. But until that times comes, Johnny Knoxville, the one in the group who still showed us that youthful exuberance twinkle in his eye, is charging forward,...

Johnny Knoxville puts the dirty in dirty old man.If your a fan of poop jokes and pornographic small talk, "Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa" is definitely for you. The flick stays true Knoxville's "Grandpa" character, Irving Zisman, who debuted on the the popular MTV series "Jackass" back in 2001. The movie feels reminiscent of "Borat," with a small (yet, meaningful) story line between Knoxville's character and his grandson Billy. Of course, with far more fart and genitalia jokes. "Bad Grandpa" follows the foul-mouthed "Jackass" star as he cruises across middle-America with his trusty (and equally hilarious) grandson played by Jackson Nicoll. The two get in a world of trouble as the 86-year-old Irving (with a libido of an 18-year-old boy) searches for "nookie" along their road trip, as they travel to meet Billy's deadbeat dad. What starts out as a chore for the newly-widowed Zisman, turns into one drunken beauty-pageant-stripper-filled adventure,...

Jackson Nicoll made quite an impression on Chelsea Handler when they costarred in the 2012 movie Fun Size. Johnny Knoxville? Not so much. The latter appeared on the Thursday, Oct. 24, episode of Chelsea Lately, where he and Handler swapped stories about working with the 9-year-old scene-stealer. After Handler said she worked with the "nugget" on a movie that "bombed" last Halloween, Knoxville laughed and told the talk show host, "We were in it together." "Oh, you were in it, too?" Handler asked, laughing. The comedienne went on to call Nicoll "super annoying" and "a dick," but Knoxville said he was so impressed with the young star's talent that he decided to cast...

Time for a twist on the standard raucous “frat-boy” type comedy. But the twist isn’t really all that new. It’s the old hidden camera “let’s make the everyday folks squirm” gag film. For it’s legacy we have to go back to the programs of Mr. Allen Funt. He began with a radio show entitled “Candid Microphone” which the new tech soon became “Candid Camera”, a long-running TV hit that he co-hosted on CBS. Then he too, made it to the movies with 1970′s X-rated (but really pretty tame) What Do You Say To A Naked Lady? More recently Sacha Baron Cohen expanded his British TV stunts with the feature films Borat, Bruno, and for several scenes of The Dictator. But over in the states, Johnny Knoxsville and his band of merry pranksters ruled MTV with “Jackass”. While most of the bits concerned painful gags amongst each other,...

On October 25th, Johnny Knoxville brings Irving Zisman to life in what may be the funniest film of the year. Bad Grandpa follows the adventures of a young boy named Billy (played by Jackson Nicoll) and his Granddad on a super funny and super crude cross-country road trip. Knoxville clearly knows what the hell he is doing dressed as an 86-year-old man looking to cause some serious trouble and maybe even find a bond with his grandson.
