- Ryan Trenhaile was born in Marion County Missouri on February 3rd to Margaret & Jerry. Through the encouragement of his parents, he began painting in oil and acrylic at the age of 5. He later attended the highly regarded Dynamic Graphics courses. Ryan went on to study commercial art in college and finished his studies in 1996 at the School of Communication Arts in Minneapolis, Minnesota graduating with a degree in Multimedia Design.
He was immediately scooped up by Angel Studios (now known as Rock Star Games) where he created content for leading multimedia companies including Nintendo, Microsoft, Intel and Disney Imagineering. He also designed the creation of 3D environments as well as animated characters and objects for location-based entertainment including interactive motion rides for the 1998 World's Fair and Walt Disney World. Ryan contributed extensively to best-selling Nintendo 64 and PC games including Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball(TM), Resident Evil 2(TM) and Midtown Madness(TM).
In 2000, Ryan began his own software development company, Nutshell Digital, where he successfully designed and developed database driven websites, interactive training applications, interactive kiosk for the San Diego Chargers stadium luxury boxes, and most recently an online dating system.
In 2003, Progessive Computing absorbed Nutshell Digital where Ryan was able to dedicate all of his time to the further development of an online dating system and speech telephony products.
He decided to leave the corporate web environment to pursue a creative path that led him to the feature film and TV industry. With his first break at Legend 3D he quickly worked his way to the top to become "Lead Artist". Ryan went on to work on films such as, Titanic 3D, Thor, Captain America, Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, and The Avengers. Ryan continually pushed himself and his teams to create the highest quality visual effects and compositing and VFX for stereoscopic playback. With the experience of multiple feature films, Ryan has been able to work closely with industry leading studios like ILM, Digital Domain, Paramount, Sony, and DreamWorks to create and manage the production of visually stunning stereoscopic feature and catalog films, utilizing Nuke, AE and CGI elements.
After working with Ridley Scott on Prometheus at Scott Free Productions, Ryan moved on to work with Deluxe Laboratories in LA on John Carter, The Avengers and the re-release of Titanic. In 2012 Ryan began work with Academy Award Winner Pixomondo doing traditional 2D VFX Compositing on Spiderman, Game of Thrones along with many other award winning shows and feature films.
With Ryan's skills, experience and history of creative management he also implemented training programs to teach incoming employees (often straight out of college) how to stereo composite, along with training outsource facilities in India.
