Tony Cassara, who took over Young Broadcasting as CEO in April 2011, after the March resignation of longtime topper Vince Young, has now resigned himself. In addition to the CEO title, Cassara also is relinquishing his seat on Young Broadcasting’s Board of Directors. Deb McDermott will continue as the President of Young Broadcasting, responsible for day to day operations, while the Board begins a search for Cassara’s replacement. Cassara has more than 30 years TV stations experience. In 1977, he joined Ktla-tv as the Los Angeles-based station’s youngest general manager ever. Here are statements from Thomas Sullivan, chairman of the Board of Directors, and Cassara. Sullivan: “Tony has advised us that he would like to pursue interests outside of Young Broadcasting, including the ownership of other broadcasting stations. Accordingly, Tony has tendered his resignation as chief executive officer and member of the Board of Directors, effective March 13, 2012. We wish Tony well in his new endeavors.

The Real Housewives of New York City star Jill Zarin isn’t the type to sit back and do nothing. She’s a go-getter, especially when it involves a cause close to her heart. Jill has now partnered with the NOH8 campaign to fight for “marriage equality and anti-discrimination on a global level.”
“Bobby, Ally, my stepson Jonathan and I were thrilled that Adam Bouska asked us to appear in the NOH8 campaign,” Jill told HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “We all believe in equality and feel strongly that everyone should have the right to marry regardless of their sexual orientation.”
“Being gay is not a choice,” Jill continued. “Our government should not be involved in our sexual lives or orientation.”

After spending three hours at a strip club, Spencer announced that he was “scouting for his new movie.” We didn’t realize that research could be so expensive!
Spencer Pratt is livin’ the single life like Whoa. The Db reality star and a bunch of his buddies were spotted hanging out at Los Angeles strip club 4 Play Gentlemen’s Club on August 4, and although RadarOnline reports the boys spent a whopping $7000 in three hours, Spencer claims he was only there to find actresses for his cheesy horror film Tower 69: Beach Patrol Featuring 3D Boobs.
“Spencer and his pals were having a blast,” says a source. “He was sitting at a table with around seven scantily-clad women who were all vying for his attention.” Theinsider adds that Spencer was carrying around a sack-full of $100 bills, so it’s no surprise that he was extra popular with the ladies that evening...

Do You think “The Situation” is a good match for Dancing with the Stars? The ab-tastic reality star is dying to be on the next season!
Everyone’s favorite Jersey Shore guido Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino wants to take his fist-pumping dance moves from the clubs to the celebrity dance floor! Several sources close to the reality star tell TMZ that he’s currently in top-secret negotiations to appear on the next season of the ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
His manager, Mike Petolino, denies the report — but we’ll know for sure Aug. 2 when discussions are reportedly set to end.
Kate Gosselin did wonders for the show’s ratings when she appeared last season, but we can’t help but wonder if ‘The Situation’’s aggressive personality might bring too much drama to the already-dramatic competition.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Should “The Situation” be on the show,...

Chicago – Where would Thomas Sullivan Magnum had been without his trusty sidekick Rick Wright? Chicago-born Larry Manetti was Rick Wright on “Magnum P.I,” and has just re-released his book of memories with the show, “Aloha, Magnum.”
Manetti was born in Chicago and as an actor headed to Hollywood in 1972. His connection to another Chicagoan, Robert Conrad, landed him on the series “Baa Baa Black Sheep” [1976-78]. Between TV guest roles and film parts he caught the attention of the producers of Magnum P.I.[1980-88], and portrayed club owner and Magnum friend Rick Wright for the entire series run.
In 1999, he sat down to write about his adventures in Aloha, Magnum. He recently re-released the book, which is available through his website, LarryManetti.com.
