Mumbai, March 15 (Ians) Lyricist Prashant Ingole has come up with his YouTube channel with the purpose of exclusively promoting independent music.
Prashant created several Indie singles during lockdown last year, which inspired him to come up with a channel dedicated to independent music, together with his friend Ammul Goel.
According to Prashant, the quality of poetry in today's Indie music is not that great but there are some amazing talents who dont get the correct platforms to showcase their work. With the current scenario of Indie music picking up in India, now is also the right time to launch something like this, he feels.
"Most of the Indie songs now flowing into the market hardly have any lyrical value attached. They just want to talk about alcohol, women and power. I feel music and lyrics channelise the emotions and mindset of people and we artistes need to guide and inspire them.

Mumbai, March 11 (Ians) Singer-composer Payal Dev reveals she used live instruments to record her new composition "Danka baja" in the upcoming film "Mumbai Saga".
"Given the grand scale of ‘Mumbai Saga', it was quite interesting to compose a festive song, something I have not done before for a movie. Initially I composed the hookline and we worked on the production. Once the track was ready, we reached out to (lyricist) Prashant Ingole and (singer) Dev Negi to record the song," said Payal.
The idea of using live instrument to record the song, as it was done in days of yore, helped because of the festive spirit of the song.
"Music producer Aditya Dev made sure that we used live instruments that are usually used to create the Ganpati vibe and authenticity to the song to make it sound grand," Payal said.
She is looking forward to the release of "Mumbai Saga" in theatres.

Veteran singer Udit Narayan thanks his son, singer-anchor Aditya Narayan, for initiating him into the digital age of music.
After ruling the roost in the Bollywood playback scene for four decades, Udit's new song "Tere bagair" was launched recently on YouTube.
"All it took was for me to convey my desire to be an independent artiste in this digital age to my son Aditya. Before I knew it, he had set up everything. The record label, social media, single and music video. I just had to come to his home studio setup and record 'Tere bagair'," said Udit.
"I can proudly say that in the day and age where people talk of nepotism, my son has launched me in the digital age and, believe me when I say this, he has done all of this with his hard-earned money. I love you and I am proud of you beta," he added.

In the films of India, the soundtrack, both words and music, play an integral part that takes you inside the world, the story and the characters. Sometimes the song takes the story forward, sometimes it sets the mood or feeling of a scene, sometimes it gets the dance on, sometimes it hypes up the action, sometimes it gives all the feels and sometimes it is the essence of the love story. That is the case for the newest song ‘Pal’ from Jalebi. Composed by Javed-Mohsin, the lyrics for the track were written by the great Prashant Ingole. Known for his brilliant lyrics that fit every mode, genre and mood of the song they inhabit, you have heard his wonderful lines in songs like Race 2’s ‘Party On My Mind’, ‘Ziddi Dil’ and ‘Adhure’ from Mary Kom, and the epic tracks from Bajirao Mastani: ‘Malhari’, ‘Fitoori’, and ‘Gajanana’.

Set to release on December 18th, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani, starring Ranveer Singh, tells the story of Bajirao, one of history’s greatest unsung heroes; a Maratha Peshwa who rewrote the true essence of love and fearlessly protected his kingdom for over 47 long wars. It is an epic tale and the love story of a warrior that also stars Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.
Not only has Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Bajirao Mastani, he has also composed the music for the historical saga that is being called his magnum opus. I loved Slb’s music for Guzaarish and looked forward to hearing what he would create for this epic film. After talking with lyricists Prashant Ingole and Siddharth and Garima I was even more excited to get lost into the musical story of Bajirao Mastani. So does the soundtrack transport you to the time, the place and the feeling of Bajirao’s world?...

Ranveer Singh has transformed himself to play Bajirao in the upcoming highly anticipated Bajirao Mastani. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film, that also stars Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, is set to hit the big screen on December 18th.
Along with the epic story and the incredible sets and costumes, the music of Bajirao Mastani is the perfect backdrop to tell the story of this warrior and his loves. One of the most epic is Malhari featuring Ranveer Singh. As lyricist Prashant Ingole told us exclusively, “They have won a very important battle and have returned. They want to celebrateWhenever we “marathi” people celebrate we have loads of dhol, taashey and we throw loads of bhandaara / gulaal. All the elements I have put in the song.” Adding about Ranveer’s performance in the song and movie, “Ranveer takes the madness to different level. He is such a passionate actor. One I have not seen for ages.

We first experienced the magic of Siddharth and Garima’s writing in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela. The duo, along with Mr. Bhansali, brilliantly transformed the story of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet into an Indian context and the result was rave reviews for the writing and the stars.
For their next project they entered the world of a love story of a warrior – Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic Bajirao Mastani starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. For what is being called his magnus opus, Mr Bhansali went to Siddharth and Garima to paint beautiful pictures with their lyrics for three of the biggest songs, ‘Deewani Mastani’, ‘Pinga’ and ‘Mohe Rang Do Laal’.

Prashant Ingole impressed us with his wonderful lyrics from the Priyanka Chopra starrer Mary Kom last year. He also got us in the party mood by penning 'Party On My Mind' from Race 2. The versatile lyricist, who's making his mark in the industry, credits his success to Sandeep Singh, ex CEO of Sanjay Leela Bhansali Films.
Says Prashant, "Sandeep and I go a long way. Whatever I am today is because of Sandeep Singh. He was the one who spotted my talent, encouraged me and has been a pillar in my life. I am and will forever be grateful to him."
Speaking about his future projects, Prashant says, "There are a couple of exciting projects. One is with a very big singer. Then I'm also working on a big film right now and you'll come to know about it soon. "

Prashant Ingole has won hearts with his soul-stirring lyrics from the Priyanka Chopra starrer Mary Kom that released earlier this year. From penning a racy number like ‘Party On My Mind’ (Race 2) to a motivational song like ‘Ziddi Dil’ (Mary Kom) and a haunting number like ‘Adhure’ (Mary Kom), Prashant has impressed all with his versatility.
While some critics have referred to him as the new age Gulzar, some consider him the trendsetter with lot of variation.
Now Prashant, who believes in quality over quantity, is gearing up for three mega releases in 2015 which includes another biggie with Sanjay Leela Bhansali too. Not just that, the ‘Ziddi Dil’ lyricist is currently also prepping up for his book launch and simultaneously is busy shooting for a short film.

As we all know, Indian films and music go hand and hand. The songs are what make them so special and uniquely their own. It is the director, the music directors, the lyricists, and the singers who come together to create the musical magic of a Bollywood movie. Especially in Bollywood, where the songs many times take the story forward, the lyricist plays a special role in the telling of the tale in a movie. Today, we shine the spotlight on Prashant Ingole who has written the lyrics for the upcoming Mary Kom. We heard his lyrics in Race 2’s ‘Party On My Mind’ last year and now he has written two of the most popular songs on the Mary Kom soundtrack.
