Look, we’re sympathetic.
Last year’s simultaneous writers’ and actors’ strikes threw everything into disarray and messed up a lot of things for a lot of people.
And if you thought everything would immediately go back to normal once the agreements were made and Hollywood returned to work -- well, Fire Country Season 2 is here to show you how wrong you were!
Now, it’s possible that the show’s writers were always planning on veering into such wildly melodramatic territory in their second season.
But we can't shake the feeling that they’re trying to cram a full season’s worth of story into a strike-shortened episode order.
For example, Fire County Season 2 Episode 1 featured a prison knife fight that was broken up by a freakin’ earthquake.
And Fire Country Season 2 Episode 2 had purple wildfires and newly reunited families using TikTok to locate missing teens lost in cave mazes.

So far, only three episodes of Fire Country Season 2 have aired, but a lot has happened—and there’s much more to come, including the introduction of a new character who could be a big part of this world if a spinoff does, in fact, happen. Already this season, we’ve seen Bode (Max Thieriot) get out of prison and learn he might be a father, Gabriela (Stephanie Arcila) move on from him and get engaged (to Rafael De La Fuente‘s Diego), Sharon (Diane Farr) and Vince (Billy Burke) at least starting to take steps towards talking about the problems between them, and job changes across Three Rock and Station 42. So what’s still ahead? When we spoke with Farr, she offered some teases about the next few episodes. An upcoming episode is introducing Morena Baccarin’s sheriff. What’s Sharon’s relationship like with her? I feel like...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Fire Country Season 2 Episode 3, “See You Next Apocalypse.”] Sharon’s (Diane Farr) wanted to be in on the action on Fire Country, and she definitely does that in the latest episode, driving, with Jake (Jordan Calloway) and Gabriela (Stephanie Arcila) on top of the truck and 10 civilians in it with her, through a fire. Her personal life heated up, too, with Liam (Jason O’Mara), whom she’d worked alongside while she was away fighting fires, coming to town thinking something could happen between them. Vince (Billy Burke) punched him. Then, the two men had to work side-by-side to help Sharon during the fire. But Sharon made it very clear that she wants her husband, and it looks like the two are going to start fighting for their relationship. Below, Farr does a deep dive into Sharon’s relationships with Vince and Bode (Max Thieriot). This episode was ...

In the last season of Fire Country, we witnessed the story of a young convict named Bode, who joined Edgewater as a firefighter at Three Rock Fire Camp. His hometown brings back many painful memories for him. He lost Riley, his sister, there in a car accident while he was driving. Also, he went to prison for an armed robbery he was involved in while staying there. Despite this, he decides to stay, partly because his mother, Sharon, is the chief of Station 42’s firefighting crew and is suffering from kidney disease. Also, he falls in love with a girl named Gabriela. As Bode is about to be released on parole from prison, he becomes entangled in prison politics. A fellow inmate named Sleeper brings drugs into the prison, and when Bode informs Manny, the supervisor of Three Rock Camp, Manny conducts a drug test among the inmates. When Fire Country Season 1 Episode 22 aired way back in May of 2023, its controversial conclusion left fans divided.
The debut season of the hit CBS drama dragged its protagonists through hell and delivered some surprisingly satisfying character arcs -- only for the season finale to bring us right back to where Bode Leone's story began:
Bode's decision to take the fall for a drug ring landed him back behind bars and left viewers with the feeling that Fire County Season 2 might wind up rehashing the redemption narrative the show already explored in Season 1.
So, after a much longer-than-usual hiatus owing to the writers' and actors' strikes, did Fire Country Season 2 Episode 1 find a way to keep things fresh?
Well, the opening scene whips us around -- is Bode a free man already?! Has he earned his father's approval?! -- before revealing that we're in the well-trodden territory of the dream sequence.

This is not going to be an easy season for Bode (Max Thieriot) on Fire Country. He’s back in prison, after lying about being responsible for problems at Three Rock, the fire camp for inmates; rather, his nemesis Sleeper (Grant Harvey) was the one behind his positive drug test, but when Bode was told the issues were holding up Freddy’s (W. Tre Davis) release, he shocked everyone at his parole hearing with a different speech. Along with our previous teases from Thieriot about Bode in prison, his relationships with his parents Vince (Billy Burke) and Sharon (Diane Farr), love interest Gabriela (Stephanie Arcila), and former Three Rock captain Manny (Kevin Alejandro), we caught up with the star, executive producer and co-creator about what redemption looks like for his character, that secret Jake (Jordan Calloway) knows, and much more. For really the first time, Fire Country is going to offer a look at exactly who “prison Bode” is, according to star, executive producer, and co-creator Max Thieriot. He has a “darker side, a little bit of that edge.” The series began with Bode’s “pseudo being out” at Three Rock, and last season ended with him sending himself back to prison by lying at his parole hearing to ensure his friend Freddy’s (W. Tre Davis) freedom to close an investigation into drugs at the fire camp. And in doing so, he blindsided his friends and family, who had all been preparing for him to get out. Now, six months later, things are rough between Bode and love interest Gabriela (Stephanie Arcila); she wanted to be by his side, but he told her to forget about him. The premiere will reveal who’s at fault for where they are now,...

The ending of this hour was seasons in the making.
Somehow, Chicago Pd Season 11 Episode 3 was nothing like one would've envisioned from the promos, and there's a lot to parse through regarding the case and mixed feelings about it.
But they threw such a momentous occasion at us in those final moments that it's likely all anyone will be talking about for the rest of the season.
It seems Chicago Pd isn't completely dark and loveless after all.
Upstead has crumbled before our eyes after riding a high, and now Burzek has reached new heights in the most deceptively understated, quietly stable way.
The hour was a bit misleading, but continuing with the pattern of providing us with character-centric installments, this one foisted Kim Burgess into the spotlight.
And she took the lead brilliantly and beautifully the entire time.
Gabriela, I will never accept that there's such a thing as an illegal human being.

Late-night host Stephen Colbert and other social media personalities recounted all of the math involved in the various sets of numbers relevant to Super Bowl Lviii:

Kevin Greutert‘s Saw X takes place between the first two films of the Saw franchise and focuses on its protagonist, John Kramer/The Jigsaw Killer (Tobin Bell).
Kramer goes to a clinic outside of Mexico City and undergoes a procedure that he hopes will cure him of his brain cancer.
After he completes the operation, Kramer finds out that it was a scam that had many other victims who were also conned into having this procedure done on them.
In response, Kramer kidnaps the five people who deceived him: Dr. Cecilia Pederson (Synnøve Macody Lund), the daughter of the doctor who conducted the procedure, Finn Pederson (Donagh Gordon), Gabriela (Renata Vaca), Diego (Joshua Okamoto), Mateo (Octavio Hinojosa) and Valentina (Paulette Hernández).
Much like the previous films, Kramer forces his captors to survive death traps.
Cecilia, early on, reassured Kramer that the procedure would work, saying that his time was not up yet.

Chile’s Storyboard Media is making its first foray into series production by joining forces with Chilean actor-producer Pablo Díaz del Rio of Río Estudios and Argentina’s Juan Pablo Gugliotta of MagmaCine to co-produce a historical fiction series, “Habitación 205” (“Box 205”).
The deal with MagmaCine was closed during the Madrid forum Iberseries & Platino Industria on Oct. 3.
Created by Díaz del Rio and written by Mateo Iribarren, the four-episode series is inspired by the 20-year-long judicial investigation into the death of former Chilean President Eduardo Frei Montalva, who died in an allegedly botched medical procedure. It will also be adapted into a 120-minute feature film.
“We are elated that our maiden venture into series-making begins with “Habitacion 205” and judging from the responses we received at the San Sebastian Festival and now Iberseries, it looks like it would appeal to both our local and international audiences,” said Gabriela Sandoval who co-founded and...

The Saw franchise, notorious for its mind-bending traps and twisted morality, is back with Saw X, a semi-prequel that finds its place snugly between the first and second films. Directed by Kevin Greutert and crafted by writers Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger, this chapter promises a fresh, albeit macabre, spin on the series.
