Howard Lipp
- Sound Department
They call Howard the digital wizard for a reason. He has thousands of
hours at a console from old school analog to state of the art digital.
Music and sound are his passion and love and he enjoys the challenge of
creating magic. He apprenticed at Dayson studios in Syracuse NY in 1976
and worked on dozens of projects at the Newhouse School of
Communications all through his college days at Syracuse University,
while taking a degree in computer engineering. Born with a need to know
how everything worked, he came with the ability understand the physics
of sound, acoustics and electronics as if he could see what was
happening on the physical and electronic level; ...a born engineer. He
has worked for and with some of the greatest engineers and producers
around. Although he spent 12 years of his career in broadband
communications, RF and fiber optic hybrid electronic and system design
from military to CATV, Satellite communications and broadband
networking; he continued to pursue his undying love and passion for
music and sound creation, production and recording. His passion for
music led him to open a recording studio, music production, and post
production house. He has worked with amateur and student filmmakers to
make their work sound incredible. He is experienced in just about every
piece of software and hardware used in an analog and digital studio.
Howard loves to teach as well. He has mixed thousands of tracks and
dozens of short film projects doing most every job the sound department
lists from location sound recording to final mix and master. He has
played in just about every kind of band over his 38 year musical career
thus far. He loves what he does. His passion for making music and audio
sound the best it can is without equal. Years of hands on experience at
every level of the film process and music production process is how
Howard has come to be known as a digital wizard and analog alchemist.
He has learned all of the tricks and tools to make music and audio
sound its best. Let his love of great sound help your project sound its
best.
