Disney+< has started production on a limited series follow-up to the BAFTA-winning 1997 film The Full Monty, to ultimately air Stateside on Hulu (and on Disney+ most elsewhere).
The original film was about six unemployed steel workers who form a male striptease act, where women cheer them on to go for “the full monty” (total nudity). The eight-episode Full Monty series, per Variety, will follow that original slate of characters as they navigate the post-industrial city of Sheffield and society’s crumbling healthcare, education and employment sectors and explore how communal effort can still triumph over adversity.

Lucy Forbes, lead director of The End of The F***ing World’s second season, has spent much of the last 12 months in the woods and forests of deepest, darkest Wales, where she has been shooting four episodes of the Channel 4/Netflix drama and BBC dark comedy In My Skin.
She has been creating rules to ensure that the nihilism of the Jessica Barden-fronted graphic novel adaptation and the Kayleigh Llewellyn-penned coming-of-age story look right and ultimately “trying not to fuck it up”.
Having achieved this, she also came home to London to find a nice surprise, a slew of messages from young, female directors following the launch of The End of The Fxxking World earlier this month.
“The really lovely thing is that loads of young female directors have been reaching out to me saying that they love the show and it’s nice to see...

Not-for-profit group Thankyou Water has launched its first campaign to raise awareness for the importance of safe water in developing nations.
Created in-house, the campaign was produced with entirely donated time and resources valued at $110,000. The ad features children living in the third world enjoying running water and includes only two words – Thank you.
Thankyou Water MD Daniel Flynn said: “Each person featured in the Tvc is a Thankyou Water drinker or a beneficiary of the projects we’ve funded. This is because we wanted to really capture the Thankyou Water moment – where one purchase funds a water project, which then changes a life,” he said.
Both Foxtel and Nine have donated advertising space to air the ads. The campaign will be supported by social media.
All proceeds from the water go towards funding water projects in the developing world and to date, the Melbourne based enterprise has contributed to 58 water projects in Cambodia,...
