- My acting story begins in the late 1980s, with 4 years of study under Uta Hagen and Herbert Berghof in New York from 1986 to 1990. Some credits include the daytime drama series "Days of Our Lives" (1991), stints Off-Broadway in "Member of the Wedding" with Esther Rolle at the Roundabout Theatre in NY (1989) and at the Tiffany Theatre in Los Angeles in "Woman in Mind" with Helen Mirren (1992) as well as numerous group and individual looping and ADR projects in both NY and LA during the 1980's and 1990's (see Acting Resume for full list).
At the end of 1992, I was diagnosed with cancer and was forced to take a few years off to rest and heal. After 5 years, I was pronounced completely cured. During that time, I became more interested in radio as a performance vehicle. In the late 1990's and early 2000's, I worked in the Creative Departments at KIIS-FM in Los Angeles and KACD-FM (Channel 103.1) in Santa Monica, CA, and as Creative Director at Sportsradio 680 The Fan in Atlanta.
In 2006, my first child (Will) was born, with my second (Ali) following two years later. In order to prioritize my new young family, I built a state-of-the-art studio in my home and started my own audio publishing company to pursue more diverse personal voiceover projects, including many award-winning audiobooks, commercials and a successful 5-year run as Narrator of the hit Investigation Discovery series "Swamp Murders" from 2013-2017.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Steve Cook - Steve Cook has been voicing, producing and publishing audiobooks since 2006.
