Dave Myers, best known as one-half of The Hairy Bikers — Si King makes up the other half — has died. He was 66.
King shared on X (formerly Twitter) Thursday that Myers died “peacefully at home” Wednesday night, following a years-long battle with cancer.
“Last night, on 28th February 2024, with Lili, Dave’s wife, his family, close friend David and myself by his side, he passed away peacefully at home,” he wrote. “All who knew Dave are devastated at his passing. His beloved wife brought him such happiness as did her children, Iza and Sergiu who Dave loved like his own.”
Myers, born on Sep. 8, 1957, in Barrow-in-Furness, England, worked in a steelworks as a student to help finance his higher education in Fine Arts. He later joined the BBC as a make-up artist, specializing in prosthetics.
He then met King — who would become his long-time friend and co-star — on the set of...

Speaking about her time on the show, Adams said: “This has been the best thing I have ever done in my life and I will carry it to my grave, and it has been an absolute pleasure working with you [Karen Hauer] and learning about so much that will go into my own stuff, in my own work. Strictly Come Dancing star Molly Rainford has apologised to her professional partner Carlos Gu for “letting him down” after they ended up in the dance-off.
During Saturday (22 October) night’s show, the pair performed a Couple’s Choice routine to the Grange Hill theme tune as part of the night celebrating the BBC’s centenary.
However, the routine was criticised by the judges, with viewers suggesting that Rainford and Gu had been “stitched up” by the “slow” musical choice which appeared hard to dance to.
The pair, who have previously topped the Strictly leaderboard, scored 30 points and found themselves in the bottom half of the contestants.
Rainford and Gu were at risk of leaving the show after ending up in the dance-off during Sunday (23 October) night’s results show against comedian Jayde Adams and Karen Hauer.

Strictly Come Dancing is back on our screens, with a new batch of contestants learning the art of ballroom dancing for the first time.
The BBC competition series returned on Saturday (24 September), with 15 celebrities hitting the dance floor with their pro partners for the first time.
It was a night of varying dance abilities, with Will Mellor and Hamza Yassin sharing the top spot on the leaderboard with an impressive 34 out of 40 marks each.
Tony Adams, meanwhile, is currently at the bottom end with just 15 poionts for his Arsenal-themed tango.
However, everything could still change during Saturday (1 October) night’s show, as the scores from last week will be added to the marks gained by the contestants for their second dances.
The new leaderboard will then be combined with the public votes, with the bottom two couples facing the dreaded dance off and the first couple leaving the competition.

Strictly Come Dancing star Jeremy Vine has revealed that he'll be channelling his life as a journalist to help him with his tango this weekend.
His professional partner Karen Clifton described his tango face as "proud", while Vine described it as a "news face".

He added: "Some of the favourite dances I've seen from the series have been tangos. Anita Rani's tango, unbelievable. And then Katie [Derham]'s on the first week. Although it is the news face, there's a lot of character in it so I've actually been really looking forward to learning it."
And Clifton revealed that she was "impressed" by Vine in their first couple of hours of tango training yesterday.

Strictly Come Dancing's Jeremy Vine has suggested that winning the show isn't an impossibility as no one in the competition is really safe.
The 50-year-old BBC broadcaster - who along with professional dance partner Karen Clifton currently remains at the bottom of the leaderboard - opined on his chances of lifting the Glitterball trophy to Digital Spy: "If I was looking at the Bookies' odds it does seem unlikely I'd win!
"It's obviously not impossible. It would be fantastic to win but I'd have to better than I am now. A lot better. The main issue for me is my daughters - I don't want them to think their father's going to stop training because he can't win.
"If I got to Blackpool I would be very, very, very pleased but you're right - nothing is impossible and we don't quite know how the public are engaging in it so that's the great unknowable.

1. Katie Derham & Anton Du Beke dancing the paso doble to 'Phantom of the Opera' by Steve Harley and Sarah Brightman: 4+6+6+5=21
Len: "The problem is you're like an English rose and the paso is a cactus, sharp aggressive and spiky. It doesn't really suit your personality. I got the willies at one time when I thought you would use the wrong foot. It wasn't great, Kate - I wish it was."

Strictly Come Dancing's Jeremy Vine has revealed he "doesn't mind" that he has less dance experience than the others, and that if he gets knocked out it will be because "I forgot a step - not because Jay or Helen or Peter remembered one."
The BBC presenter and DJ - who will be performing the salsa to Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' for tonight's Halloween theme - told Digital Spy: "I don't mind that some of the contestants have a dance background - and I've thought this through a lot, and talked to my wife about it on whether I should mind.
"I think everyone comes with advantages and disadvantages and it's true some of them have that advantage. But then again, I have the advantage of being on the radio every day so arguably I have two hours a day speaking to the Strictly audience which has to help me.

Strictly Come Dancing's Jeremy Vine has revealed that he's having "crisis meetings" for his "accidental comedic performances" on the BBC ballroom dancing competition.
The 50-year-old BBC broadcaster - who will be taking on the salsa to Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' for tonight's Halloween theme - admitted that he's not trying to be intentionally funny on the floor like former infamous contestant John Sergeant, because that would be "disrespectful" to professional dance partner Karen Clifton.
"I do think it's unfair to beat up on the ones on the bottom who aren't as good as the leading pack because the main point of the programme is people trying to improve," Vine commented to Digital Spy.
"I think it's different if somebody is just doing it for comedic purposes, then I can see why the audience would get frustrated with that. I think what John Sergeant did years ago with the paso...

Strictly Come Dancing pro Karen Clifton has revealed that she calls Jeremy Vine 'Yoda' to calm him down before performances.
Speaking on Strictly: It Takes Two, Clifton explained that she never feels too nervous about Jeremy's dances.
"He's constantly practising and everything, so if anything I'm quite secure that he's going to get all the steps right and his timing and everything," she said. "We go out there and we enjoy ourselves. We don't really think about the pressure or anything like that."
But Vine admitted that the nerves do sometimes get to him, saying: "The only trouble comes just before performing. A couple of weeks ago I said, 'Is it left or right?' 'Is what left or right?' 'The first step.'"
Clifton explained: "I tell him, 'Just relax. It'll come to you. You're Yoda.'"
And of course Vine has also been getting advice from Elvis Costello,...

Strictly Come Dancing star Jeremy Vine has revealed that his jive went to pot because he was distracted by wearing a shower cap.
The BBC presenter - who jived to 'Splish Splash' - admitted that he had ignored his partner Karen Clifton's advice when it came to the headgear.
"The pink bath cap I'm a bit embarrassed about, because someone offered it to me just before and Karen said, 'Don't wear it, it'll put you off', and I said, 'No, it's fine'," Jeremy said on Strictly: It Takes Two. "And sure enough I put it on and then the first five seconds of the dance was a complete shambles. But we're getting there."
He admitted that he can't quite believe what he's doing on Strictly, joking: "I stood there and I had to stand in a certain way to make sure my silhouette was on the shower curtain...

The stars have posed in the official Pudsey T-shirt designed by Giles Deacon.

It's Round 2 of Week 1 as the other half of the celebrity dancers took to the stage tonight (September 26) after the first six performed last night.
Digital Spy has ben keeping a close eye on the goings-on and has rounded up the comments and scores from the judges.
1. Jay McGuiness & Aliona Vilani dancing the cha cha cha: 5-8-7-7 = 27
Bruno: "Oh, Jay, I'm 'Glad You Came', because you have the potential to be a great hit on the dancefloor."
Craig: "It was all very neat and very tidy - the only thing I could say that would add something to that is showmanship. I just felt like you weren't really living the experience."
2. Kirsty Gallacher & Brendan Cole dancing the waltz: 4-5-6-5 = 20
Bruno: "Your feet were all over the place, I'm sure you can do better."
Len: "I can well imagine the nerves they've all gone through, and you've got to control those nerves.

Strictly Come Dancing feels like it's ages away, so thank you to the BBC for keeping us going by releasing this photograph of the professional dancers in training.
The pros don't even know who they'll be competing with yet, but they're already hitting the dance studios to keep limber (and pose for pictures, obviously).
The BBC posted the snap on Twitter and pointed out that it's our first glimpse at new pros Otlile Mabuse, Giovanni Pernice and Dancing with the Stars alum Gleb Savchenko.
The photo also shows Ola Jordan looking in good health after she picked up a knee injury during training for Channel 4's The Jump at the end of last year; she later admitted that she feared she might never walk again.

Congratulations to Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright, who have tied the knot following a ceremony in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
Towie stars Lydia Bright and James 'Arg' Argent, Keegan's former Coronation Street co-stars Brooke Vincent and Antony Cotton, Strictly Come Dancing stars Karen Hauer and Kevin Clifton, and Wright's mother Carol were amongst the guests at today's event (May 24).
Wright recently enjoyed a five-day stag do extravaganza with mates in Las Vegas, while Ordinary Lies star Keegan claimed she suffered a three-day hangover after her hen celebration in Morocco.
Earlier this month, Bright shared a picture of her invitation to the wedding - but deleted it within seconds.
Keegan previously revealed that Wright was "really hands-on" with the couple's wedding plans.
Wright and Keegan announced their engagement back in 2013.

Strictly Come Dancing professional Karen Hauer has said that receiving criticism about her choreography "hurt".
Hauer, who is partnered with Mark Wright on the BBC One show, broke down in tears last Saturday (December 13) when her routine was criticised by the judges.
Why Mark Wright should win Strictly Come Dancing
After performing a rumba to 'Fields of Gold', head judge Len Goodman suggested the pair's performance was let down by the choreography.
"As artists you try to push the boundaries and be as artistic as possible," she explained to Digital Spy and others.
"It does hurt, but I was inspired by the music and I was inspired by Mark and you just keep going with it.
"At the end of it all, we ended up still staying in the competition so I'm actually really proud that we did take that chance and that we didn't shy away from not doing...
