- Alexander Nicolas Niles (b. 2002 London, England) is an actor and musician known both for his wacky comedy and edgy character roles. He has performed in London and Los Angeles as a jazz pianist and stand-up comic. His studies began at Arts Educational Schools in London. Moving to California he graduated from Orange County School of Arts, studied at RADA, and currently (2022) attends AMDA College & Conservatory of the Performing Arts in Los Angeles.
He has done commercials, TV roles and was chosen out of 1000 boys for a lead role in "Distant Vision 2016", written and directed by legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola. This innovative production blended theater with television and film. Alexander also played piano and composed music for the film. Coppola wrote, "Serious and professional, his performance expressed passion." He was featured in the recently released film, "Playing With Beethoven", his 2nd for director Jenn Page.
He studied music with his father, composer Richard Niles and was teaching music theory from the age of 8. In California, he performed regularly as keyboardist and singer for Quartet 5 at venues in LA and Orange County. He performed twice with the legendary Wrecking Crew in LA. He was featured on his father's "Bandzilla Rises!!!" album. He released "Alex Plays Alex" an album of his own compositions in 2018. Grammy winner Randy Brecker called it "something special!" - Alexander's grandfather was screenwriter Jesse Lasky Jr. who wrote eight films for Cecil B. DeMille including "The Ten Commandments". His great grandfather was Jesse Lasky Sr. who produced the first feature film in Hollywood and started a company that became Paramount.
