In the weeks leading up to her latest project Bug, Kacy Hill is dealing with the usual pre-album jitters. The Arizona-born singer is used to these. She’s been in the industry for over a decade now, having gotten her start as a back-up dancer on Ye’s Yeezus Tour and eventually being signed to Good Music. After releasing one album with the label — 2017’s Like a Woman — she announced her departure in 2019.

“‘You Know I Love You Still’ is a love song to music,” she said in a press release. “I’ve spent a number of years in this industry now and in my most vulnerable moments, I wish...

“Missal sounds stronger — and more empowered — than ever.”
(Billboard)
Los Angeles, CA | June 16, 2023 – After a year of adversity and personal growth, Donna Missal is back with a vengeance. Following her departure from a major label, Missal embarked on a transformative journey of self-discovery, resulting in her highly anticipated album, ‘Revel,’ which the LA-based artist has self-released today through Ada Worldwide.
Missal’s ‘Revel’ is a testament to her resilience and unwavering determination. The recent challenges she faced became the catalyst for profound introspection and a genuine desire to forge deeper connections with her audience. Missal shares, “Revel is an album about the painful experience of transcending, it’s about reaching for light. I wanted to make an album you could dance or cry to or both at the same time.”
‘Revel’ not only signifies the creative evolution of Donna Missal but also represents an exploration of her motivations for making music.

Here’s one weird idea you may or may not have considered during your eighth week of quarantine: What if we all recorded a podcast in our showers?
Believe it or not, someone came up with this idea before we were all isolated in our homes. On Tuesday, Annie Clark a.k.a. St. Vincent launched the first episode of her new podcast Shower Sessions, where she interviews up-and-coming artists from a very tricked-out, neon-pink shower set. And while this might seem like another case of Celebs Are Bored, it actually makes...

As a movie, “Promising Young Woman,” the debut feature from “Killing Eve” writer/director Emerald Fennell out April 17 via Focus Features, defies easy categorization. Anchored by a star turn from Carey Mulligan, the film blends equal parts thriller and pitch-black comedy with occasional dashes of traditional rom-com and ‘90s noir drama structures. It’s all told through the unique, stylized lens of Fennell, who navigates the viewer through a unique take on post-#MeToo society.
The film’s eclectic mix of genres with a strong female perspective will also be at the forefront of its official soundtrack, due April 3 via Capitol Records. The album will feature eight all-new songs created for the film, including four covers and four original songs. Two of the album’s originals are written and performed by Cyn, whose first single and video from the project, “Drinks,” was released Friday (March 6.) The “Drinks” video, directed by Taylor Fauntleroy,...
