Brad Pitt is really nailing the rugged, understated look.
On Sunday, the 53-year-old actor showed up to a press conference for his upcoming Netflix movie, War Machine, in Tokyo, Japan, and was casually dressed in a trendy black jacket and green T-shirt. While Pitt has been rocking baggy pants for many of his recent appearances, this time he was wearing a pair of more fitted, off-white trousers and matching sneakers.

Brad Pitt's belt is doing big work these days.
While promoting his Netflix movie, War Machine, the 53-year-old actor -- who has appeared noticeably slimmer lately -- has been giving off some major '90s vibes with his baggy pants. To be fair, that was a very sexy decade for the A-lister, who was voted Sexiest Man Alive in 1995 and five years later in 2000.

Brad Pitt made a rare late night appearance on Tuesday’s Late Show With Stephen Colbert, joining the host for another hilarious installment of his “Big Questions With Even Bigger Stars” segment.
After joking that he hadn’t “been out in a while,” Pitt laid back on the blanket with Colbert as they asked each other some of life’s deepest questions.
“Do you think mathematics are the underlying structure of the universe, or did we just invent it?” the actor pondered.
“I’m not sure if numbers are the underlying reality, but one thing is absolutely true: You’re a solid eight,” Colbert replied.

New York – It may not be a traditional fit for Comic-Con, but that didn't stop people from turning up for a panel on the FX series "The Americans" this afternoon. The panel wasn't in one of the main halls, but it was a sizable room, mostly full, and there was a definite buzz. Why wouldn't there be, HitFix's own Alan Sepinwall described the most recent season of the show, which aired this past winter as having taken a "major creative leap — the kind that can elevate a show from a strong example of its era to one that transcends eras." To set the scene, the panel was a discussion and Q&A, led by Andy Greenwald. Present for were creator Joseph Weisberg; executive producer Joel Fields; and stars Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys, Noah Emmerich, and Annet Mahendru. While it was, perhaps, intended to focus heavily on the upcoming third season,...

Maps to the Stars
Written by Bruce Wagner
Directed by David Cronenberg
Canada/USA/Germany/France, 2014
Hollywood could easily be the perfect fantasy world of Cronenberg’s obsessions. The themes associated with body horror, from the fascination with decay to the battle between body and mind, are staples of the torrid extremes of Tinsel Town. In 2012, David Cronenberg’s son, Brandon, tackled these ideas with his feature debut Antiviral. That film explores a dystopian future in which the obsession with celebrity is taken to extremes of consumption. In Antiviral, the masses purchase meat grown from their favourite celebrity’s cells and head to a special clinic in order to be infected with the same venereal strain as their Hollywood Idol. The film externalizes the growing cultural obsession with fame, and concentrates that obsession through corporeality and sex.

For the fans of this wonderful man, which I proudly count myself as one; 26 May 2013 marks the centenary of horror legend Peter Cushing. One of the most versatile actors to grace the big screen, Cushing never gave a single bad performance throughout his 50-year career. A dedicated perfectionist, who believed in giving nothing less than his best effort, Cushing’s 100% commitment always lifted a bad film. The movie may fail him but he would never fail his public.
Cushing began his acting career in repertory theatre and with his legendary one-way ticket to Hollywood, made his film debut in 1939. After a couple of productive years in the States, he worked his way back to England following the outbreak of World War 2. Marrying actress Helen Beck, he worked on stage but struggled to find good roles until he became a member of the RSC under Laurence Oliver. As British TV’s first big star,...

I loved "Ruh Roh" and I feel Aidan just took me by the shoulders and said "Run!" because I need to save myself from the possible disappointment that there may not be a fourth season of Being Human.
I don't like networks messing with my mind and although there were numerous cliffhangers here and a lot to work with next year, there was also a feeling of peace among Aidan, Josh and Sally that left me feeling a little bereft.
So, we'll just carry on and chat about the show as always! Soldiering on, as they say.
We picked up right where "Always a Bridesmaid, Never Alive" ended - and if we were expecting Liam to have some enormous reason for stalking the newlyweds to the cabin, we were wrong. He went to tell Josh and Nora the werewolf blood was a curse and not a cure for the vampire virus.

Jefferson Airplane: After Bathing at Baxter's (RCA)
This was the Airplane's second LP of 1967, and on it they took the studio freedom their two huge hit singles had earned them and went wild and unsupervised, making a real psychedelic album rather than the carefully contrived simulation of psychedelia that had been Surrealistic Pillow. The result had more avant-garde weirdness than hit singles (RCA had unrealistic hopes for "Watch Her Ride"), but the album actually coheres far better; for all the stylistic disjunctions and studio effects and Jorma Kaukonen's often-abrasive guitar sounds, and for that matter the nine-minute instrumental trio improvisation "Spare Chaynge," it flows organically, creating its own logic.
Cream: Disraeli Gears (I'm not even a Cream fan and I still have to acknowledge the brilliance of "Strange Brew," "Sunshine of Your Love," "Tales of Brave Ulysses," and "Swlabr")

London -- They have a show. They have a social network. Now comes WikiLeaks – the album.
WikiLeaks is branching out into the entertainment industry, announcing a "Beat the Blockade" CD intended to raise money to keep the online transparency advocates afloat.
The group said in a statement late Thursday that the CD would feature 12 songs including "Where There Are No Secrets," "The Ballad of Julian Assange," and "B Manning."
It's the latest foray outside the secret-busting business for WikiLeaks, which has spawned a TV show called "The World Tomorrow" and started its own social network, called Friends of WikiLeaks.
WikiLeaks chief Julian Assange says his website, which once featured an anonymous electronic drop box for secret documents, has been effectively mothballed by a U.S. financial blockade.

"Spotify the News" is a new HuffPost feature designed to translate the week's big headlines into a weekend-worthy playlist featuring classic hits, unfairly overlooked obscurities and a good deal of what's in between.
Well, "Today Is The Day" we've been waiting for -- the big Facebook I.P.O.! Will Mark Zuckerberg remember to say "Thank You Friends" when he tallies up his zillion-dollar haul, or is the social network saddled with an "Ungrateful Little Father"? Certainly, the company's earliest investors have to be crowing, "We Are the Champions" -- it's "A Beautiful Day" for Bono of U2, who stands to make $1.2 billion from his chunk of Facebook, and even Eduardo Saverin must be singin' in "Singapore."
The news wasn't nearly as good for Jp Morgan Chase C.E.O. Jamie Dimon, who went from Wall Street's "Last Man Standing" to America's favorite "Whipping Boy" after his firm lost $3 billion in one fell swoop.

Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 1, Episode 14 of ABC's "Revenge," entitled, "Chaos."
After months of anticipation, we finally discovered the truth about "Revenge's" dirtiest little secret: Whose body was on the beach?
"Chaos" had so many twists and turns that for a second I really thought that I had no idea what was really going on anymore, and in true "Revenge" fashion, the last five minutes may have left us with more questions than answers. However, at least the season's biggest mystery was finally solved.
Daniel was not the body on the beach. Like many of you may have guessed, it was actually Tyler's body.
The shooter, however, remains unknown, and while the second half of the season will largely focus on Daniel Grayson's trial, I wouldn't be so quick to blame Daniel for Tyler's murder. After all, the murderer was obviously wearing a black coat,...

Tom Cruise and what’s left of the Imf team are having a really bad day, and you can see just how rough things are in the new international trailer for Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, as well as scoping out the new character posters that highlight both good guys and bad guys.
The new international trailer has foreign subtitles but our favorite secret agent (aside from Bond, James Bond) is still speaking English so it’s all good. There are a couple of new scenes that weren’t included in the Us trailer but most of it has been seen before. However, it still looks awesome and I can’t wait for this movie to hit theaters.
Check out the trailer and then take a look at the character posters below to learn who all the players are. I think it’s interesting that there are three different taglines working here.

Ah, Julian Assange. Aside from the interminable line-up of Snow White projects threatening to engulf the entire Western seaboard, he’s become the most in-demand bleached blond belle of the ball. With so many competing film projects about the prurient leaker of state secrets clamoring for our attention, it’s hard to keep track of them all. One project in particular, though, just got a healthy kick up the posterior. Remember a few months ago, when WikiLeaks seemed like it would be the topic of a dozen different movies? Some of those may actually happen, and one, the HBO and BBC co-production [1]that seeks to chronicle the story of Julian Assange's organization, just got some new contributors. Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall are now exec producers, and Rowan Joffe (The American, 28 Weeks Later) is writing the script. To remind you, this one is based on Raffi Khatchadourian‘s June 7, 2010 New Yorker article [2] called No Secrets: Julian Assange’s Mission for Total Transparency. That's just one of the many WikiLeaks projects that are in play. The project, a co-production with the BBC, is based on source material that includes Raffi Khatchadourian's 2010 New Yorker article No Secrets: Julian Assange’s Mission for Total Transparency. It will tell the story of WikiLeaks, a database run by former hacker and Internet activist Julian Assange and his operatives, whose mission is to collect and disseminate via the Internet private, secret and classified information from anonymous sources. HBO put the WikiLeaks project in development in January with Joshua Maurer and Alixandre Witlin of City Entertainment and David Stern of KippSter Entertainment executive producing. In April, Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Charles Ferguson was attached to direct the potential film and executive produce. Maurer, Witlin, Stern and Ferguson will now...

While he successfully launched a directing career with Brighton Rock last year, Rowan Joffe is still picking up writer-for-hire assignments. And it would seem his speciality right now is controversial real people, since he’s not only been working on Agent Zigzag, about a double agent during World War Two, but he’s now accepted the task of writing a script about the WikiLeaks affair for HBO and the BBC.Deadline reports that regular Steven Spielberg collaborators Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall have come aboard to produce the eventual film, which will be based on Raffi Khatchadourian’s feature about the man, No Secrets: Julian Assange’s Mission for Total Transparency, which was published in the New Yorker last year.As you might expect, it’ll chronicle the story of pale info-spreader Assange, who leaked many embarrassing, seemingly secret government/military documents to the media. And he’s still at it today,...

Charles Ferguson grabbed our attention with his Oscar-winning documentary, Inside Job, which led us on a deeper look into the huge financial crisis of 2008. Now the director has plans to move from documentary to drama, as he takes on the tale of WikiLeaks and Julian Assange.
Deadline reports Ferguson has signed on to direct the film for HBO, which is based on Raffi Khatchadourian’s New Yorker article No Secrets: Julian Assange’s Mission for Total Transparency. The article follows the story of Assange and WikiLeaks as they plan to release a highly classified video taken from inside the cockpit of a U.S. Army Apache Helicopter and the effects the video had once released.
WikiLeaks and Assange have made headlines recently, but who’s to say the names will remain in the public’s eye up to the film’s release. This should be a highly controversial film...

Charles Ferguson To Direct HBO’s Julian Assange Film
One of the hottest topics in Hollywood right now is Mr. Julian Assange. Assange is the man behind Wikileaks and for a while, he was in every newspaper and magazine across the country. It's no surprise that Hollywood would hop on the Assange train and currently, there are two films in production about the man who made government leaders sweat and shake in their shoes. The first film is coming to us from HBO and it was announced today that Charles Ferguson will direct. Ferguson was behind the Oscar winning documentary Inside Job, which was a fantastic film. The film will be based on Raffi Khatchadourian‘s June 7, 2010 article in The New Yorker called No Secrets: Julian Assange’s Mission for Total Transparency.

Sometimes it looks as if producing films is little more than a big-budget game of keeping up with the Jonses. When everyone else on the block has a Snow White film, you can't be stuck without at least a shadowy piece of faerie fantasy skewed towards the 18-24 demographic, right? How embarrassing to admit you can't afford dark fantasy. That is, until everyone in the neighborhood moves on to the next big thing. And the next big thing is now definitively Julian Assange and his organization WikiLeaks, which are the subject of several development projects already. Now DreamWorks is getting into the WikiLeaks game; the studio bought rights to two books about Julian Assange, and is planning a dramatic feature based on his story. Here are the WikiLeaks/Assange movies we've already talked about [1]: A documentary to be directed by Alex Gibney (Universal) An film based on Raffi Khatchadourian...

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is one famous guy, indeed!
We already have one documentary about him, one possible film, and today – one film that may be written by Mark Boal, and another one with Paul Greengrass attached as a possible director!
Huh! Assange, Assange, you’re going to be some tough competition for the upcoming Snow White!
So, we just learned that Oscar winning screenwriter Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker) is teaming up with production label Management 360 and producer Megan Ellison to obtain the rights of another Assange based article to be transformed into a movie.
The article was published in the New York Times, and is called The Boy Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest: Dealing With Assange and the WikiLeaks Secrets.
The article is written by Bill Keller.
However, there is some interest in a movie based on Assange’s memoirs, which reportedly Paul Greengrass is interested in directing.

Four rival features about WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange ain't enough for you? How about nine instead.
Deadline reports that several additional films about Assange are on the way to join the four previously announced ones. I'll start with the news ones and add the old ones.
Scribe Mark Boal ("The Hurt Locker") and producer Megan Ellison have optioned "The Boy Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest", a New York Times article by Bill Keller. Boal may write the film but is already busy for much of the rest of this year with his commitments to "Triple Frontier" and an untitled Middle East-set black ops thriller, both of which he is collaborating with "The Hurt Locker" director Kathryn Bigelow on.
This is to be based on the upcoming book Daniel Domscheit-Berg's "Inside Wikileaks". Domscheit-Berg is Assange's former 'Number Two' at the organisation who defected because he wanted to apply journalistic discretion...

If you think there are too many Snow White films in development, just refresh your memory on the list of films [1] planned around the life of Julian Assange and his organization WikiLeaks. There's a documentary to be directed by Alex Gibney, an HBO/BBC co-production based on Raffi Khatchadourian's June 7, 2010 New Yorker article [2] called No Secrets: Julian Assange’s Mission for Total Transparency, and a possible film based on Andrew Fowler‘s forthcoming biography of Mr. Assange, called The Most Dangerous Man in the World. But wait! There are more, including one film that may be written by Mark Boal, and another for which Paul Greengrass is being mentioned as director. Deadline [3] reports on a slate of additional Julian Assange movies, in case those three mentioned above weren't enough. First up: Mark Boal and Management 360 along with financier/producer Megan Ellison have optioned New York Times Magazine...

Worst kept secret. Somebody leaked that there will be films about Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks. And WikiLeaks didn’t leak this information. Deadline is reporting Management 360 has optioned “The Boy Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest,” an article from the New York Times written by the executive editor Bill Keller. Mark Boal and Megan Ellison will also be producers on the project. There is a chance Boal may write the script adaptation depending on his schedule. He previously wrote “The Hurt Locker” script. Deadline claimed the project is “a compelling way to tell the WikiLeaks story without having to rely directly on Assange as the focal point. In the piece, Keller depicts Assange as arrogant with an ego that grows larger.” According to Deadline, here are other possible WikiLeaks films in the works: DreamWorks is considering a film adaptation of the book “Inside WikiLeaks” to be released...

One of the first big pieces of news out of Sundance is that Universal will fund a documentary about WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, directed by Alex Gibney (Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, Casino Jack and the United States of Money). Together with the biopic of Mr. Assange that is about to go into development at a different company, that would make him quite the man of the moment -- if he hadn't already been the man of the moment thanks to the actions of WikiLeaks over the past months. [Update: Deadline [1] says that HBO is also developing a film about Mr. Assange. This one would be a co-production with the BBC based on Raffi Khatchadourian's June 7, 2010 New Yorker article [2] called No Secrets: Julian Assange’s Mission for Total Transparency.] More detail on each film after the break.
