After quite some time without news, Ed Boon and NetherRealm Studios finally confirmed the release date for the last character of Kombat Pack 1 in Mortal Kombat 1. Homelander, the popular main character from The Boys, will be available next week in the game.
Fans are not very pleased with the final version of this character; users on X say that it looks like a bad mod, and the lack of Antony Starr’s voice hurts the content. This was a strange choice, especially because Peacemaker has John Cena voicing the Dlc character.

After four long years, Blade is finally seeing some sort of movement. Many do not believe that it’s been so long since Marvel Studios got the fans hyped up about a Blade reboot with Mahershala Ali. But its journey so far has been anything but smooth sailing. They’ve gone through directors and writers left and right. And just when it seemed like things were back on track, another curveball seemed to be waiting just around the corner, now, they’re hunting for yet another writer to give the script a makeover.

And amidst all of this, they want a new mystery villain in the mix, though fans are still in the dark about who they have in mind particularly. Fans started to speculate, and The Boys actor seemed to fit the bill.

The Boys are primarily known as a comic book series, but Amazon Prime’s streaming adaptation of the comic book – which contains a lot of changes and additions – has helped the series become a global phenomenon. And while Homelander is undoubtedly the series’ biggest villain – and believe us, this means a lot, since the series is full of villains – there are still some deluded fans who actually idolize the Superman-gone-wrong character and his worldview, which is why the actor portraying the character, Anthony Starr, decided to react and set things straight with the fans, explaining Homelander’s real point to them.
Some fans might not like to hear this, but Homelander is evil, and there is absolutely nothing redeeming about him, so supporting him in any way is wrong. He is a symbol of everything that is wrong in the series, a symbol of corrupt power and narcissism, and if you don’t believe us,...

Growing up in New Zealand, Starr spends his off days doing physical activities such as cycling and surfing, the latter he claims to be his secret to staying lean and flexible.
How Antony Starr Effortlessly Performed Flying Stunts In The Boys
During his interview with Jonatan Blomberg of MovieZine, actor Antony Starr revealed how shooting flying scenes in The Boys was no different from surfing.
One thing that I was really happy… I surfed and so the position that you need to be in lying on a surfboard and paddling is exactly the same position when you’re doing flying scenes.

We've had one trailer already for the fourth season of wild superhero satire The Boys, but with the launch a little more than a month away, the latest look at the show's return is on hand to make sure we don't forget how much blood is in a human body. Because, as per usual, there is plenty of human claret on display in the latest promo for the series…
In Season 4, Claudia Doumit's Victoria Neuman is creeping ever closer than ever to the Oval Office, but the real power behind the (potential) throne is Homelander (Anthony Starr), who has his eyes on yet more control as his own popularity surges despite his crimes. Oh, and he's not above unleashing the rest of The Seven as a set of wrathful gods enforcing his twisted vision for the nation (and the world).
Things are far from rosy for poor old Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), though,...

Amazon Prime has had a string of successful comic book adaptations, with both The Boys and Invincible being major hits. Now, building on the success of The Boys, the streaming service released a spin-off series titled Gen V back in September 2023. The series ran for eight episodes in total and was yet another smashing hit for the streaming service, which – of course – led to the announcement of a second season. And while we don’t have any release window as of the time of writing, we do have some exciting filming updates that could narrow down the possibilities.
The Boys is probably one of the most popular comic book adaptations ever made. The series is simply on a run, and with Season 4 arriving soon, there is a lot of good to expect from the future of the franchise. Gen V was ordered and produced as a functional spin-off of The Boys...

The actor and comedian appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss the scary incident that occurred on the set of G20 in South Africa.
Anderson, who stars in ABC’s Black-ish and hosts the game show We Are Family, joked about his injury scare, indicating that some fellow actors got a bit too rough in a scene.
Jimmy asked him about how he’d been spending a lot of time in South Africa, where the action film G20 was being filmed.
“I love the people in Cape Town. I had a great time in Cape Town and looking forward to going back soon,” Anderson also said.
The late-night show host mentioned Anderson having spent a “night in the ER” while he was there.

Prime’s The Boys has gained immense love and appeal from its fans, as it has shown a refreshing take on superheroes, which goes beyond themes like nobility and selflessness. The series showcases a darker side of heroism and how individuals would act if they had superpowers. With relevant themes and equally dark humor, the show is definitely a fan favorite.

It’s been another blockbuster year for horror, but then again it always feels like that. Superhero fatigue has set in and major franchise pictures haven’t returned as expected, but horror, as ever, always seems to reach new heights. The news in 2023 may have been a load of gout, but the horror has been pure gold.
So, without further ado, here is a list of my top 10 of 2023.

With all of the “will he or won’t he” regarding Anthony Starr and Homelander for the character’s upcoming release this Spring for Mortal Kombat 1, it’s easy to forget about the other Dlc Kombatants. Namely, Quan Chi and Peacemaker, the former arriving in Mortal Kombat 1 on December 14th for Kombat Pack owners (December 21 for everyone else), and the latter arriving in February 2024.

After a lengthy hiatus and the premiere of the spin-off series “Gen V,” the wait for new episodes of “The Boys” is finally coming to an end. Eric Kripke’s satirical superhero franchise returns to Prime Video in 2024, and a new trailer promises that Season 4 will be every bit as dramatic (and R-rated) as its predecessors.
The new trailer, which debuted at Ccxp São Paulo on Saturday, shows the supes dealing with the aftermath of their battle with Homelander (Anthony Starr) and preparing for a looming election as the existence of superheroes becomes an increasingly polarizing topic in America.
In addition to returning stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Cameron Crovetti, Season 4 sees Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan joining the cast.

Prime Video’s first teaser trailer for The Boys season four shows a world on the verge of war. “All democracies fail because people are f****** stupid,” says a voice-over, adding, “But if you crush the masses, who builds your monuments?”
The solution is to allow people to tear the world apart themselves, and then the supes can swoop in and save it.
The trailer teases some wild action scenes (as expected from this twisted series) and ends with the introduction of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s character.
Season four, premiering in 2024, stars Antony Starr as Homelander, Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, and Jack Quaid as Hughie. Erin Moriarty is Starlight, Chace Crawford is The Deep, Jessie T. Usher is A-Train, Laz Alonso is Mother’s Milk, Tomer Capon is Frenchie, and Karen Fukuhara plays Kimiko. A spin-off for one of Prime Video’s most popular series, The Boys, is reportedly in the works and will be set in Mexico.
As we anxiously, eagerly await for The Boys to return for season 4 sometime in 2024, we have some exciting news. The Boys is set to get yet another spin-off, this time set in Mexico.
The new series would join Gen V and animated series The Boys Presents: Diabolical as the third overall spin-off of The Boys, which has multiple Emmy nominations under its wing. The Boys has been marketed as a sort of alternative take on the usual superhero tale by exposing how superpowered individuals abuse their powers.

While we're sure many fans of The Boys were happy with the outrageous levels of gore and violence (and satire) of :a[Gen V]{href='https://www.empireonline.com/tv/reviews/gen-v-season-1/' }, there's no true substitute for the parent series' story and characters, as seen — spoiler alert for anyone who has yet to watch the college-set spin-off — with the appearance of Homelander (Anthony Starr) and Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) in the season finale. Prime Video wants to keep The Boys in our minds, so two new posters are online, one featuring a triumphant Homelander, the other a defeated-looking Billy.
The series, adapted from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's graphic novels, has pushed the boundaries of subverting the superhero genre, with the powered people the public reveres as heroes revealed to be something much less noble. Butcher's team, the titular Boys, meanwhile, are dedicated to keeping them in line. Yet the lines,...

Eric Kripke's "The Boys" emerged as a groundbreaking and thought-provoking series in an era dominated by superheroes on big and small screens. It tore away the glossy veneer from caped crusaders, focusing on the intricate issues accompanying god-like powers. With its unapologetically dark tone and satirical storytelling, "The Boys," adapted from Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson's comic book series, dismantles traditional notions of heroism, celebrity, and power dynamics. It portrays a world where superpowers and marketing prowess collide, creating a chaotic and morally corrupted landscape.
Starring Anthony Starr, Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, and Erin Moriarty, "The Boys" garnered critical acclaim across its first three seasons. Its strong fanbase led to the approval of a fourth installment and a new spinoff named "Gen V." This fresh series introduces aspiring heroes whose powers derive knowingly from a manufactured element called Compound V.

From serial killers and mysterious supernatural entities to vengeful siblings and the Prince of Darkness himself, we've had a solid crop of horror villains so far in 2023. Although there has yet to be one singular stand-out scary movie that towers above the rest, this year has seen a surprisingly high consistency of quality -- few out-and-out hits, but fewer misses than usual. The success of these films generally tends to live and die on the strength of their villains.
But how do we define a good horror movie monster? There are a lot of different categories to take into consideration, and plenty of ways for a contender to stand out. Some might have gruesome horror makeup or otherworldly abilities, while others could win points for the inventiveness of their kills, high body count, or even exceptional one-liners. Basically, we're looking for the scariest, the strongest, and the most unique. While...

One would be forgiven for not realizing it, but a horror movie starring Lizzy Caplan and Anthony Starr was released in theaters three weeks ago just as the Barbenheimer craze was getting underway. Sure, it would be easy to blame the wild success of "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer" for burying this movie but, quite frankly, it seems like Lionsgate, the studio behind the film, must shoulder some of that blame as well. Not only did the studio do very little to build any awareness for the film but, as it arrived on VOD over the weekend, the domestic box office grosses were never reported.
For people who don't follow this stuff regularly, it is truly rare for a theatrical release of any kind from a well-known studio to not have its box office numbers reported at all. Even movies that make very little will have those numbers reflected on sites like...

Parents are the ultimate salvation when you are afraid of the dark or have a monster under your bed. However, it is hard to know where to turn when the people you call out for could be more dangerous than what is lurking in the dark, under the bed or behind the bedroom walls...
Peter is a quiet, reserved and precocious child who is picked on at school. He doesn’t have many friends and his relationship with his parents is a seemingly distant one. One night, he is awoken by the sound of knocking coming from inside his bedroom wall. Fearful of what might be in there he cries out; he is finally tended to by his mother, Carol (Lizzy Caplin). She assures him, stating ‘this is an old house - things are bound to go bump in the night, and Peter will soon discover how right she is.

“The Boys” ramped up its outrageousness in every way possible in its latest, third season— from, uh, a shrunken man venturing into a human orifice to Jensen Ackles‘ emergence as the Amazon Prime Video show’s satirical take on Captain America (Steve Rogers)… Soldier Boy.
The show, based on the comic book series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, is Eric Kripke‘s superhero satire. While comedic in many places, the show is first and foremost a drama and follows Karl Urban and Jack Quaid leading up a squad determined to take down the supes-gone-bad. The supes, in turn, are part of a team called The Seven (led by Anthony Starr‘s Homelander), which are handled by mega-company Vought International.

“The Boys” season three continued to be as bloody, brilliant, and bloody brilliant as ever as the Amazon Prime Video series ramped it up another notch with its acclaimed superhero satire.
The show — a provocative, dark take on superheroes — follows Karl Urban‘s Billy Butcher and Jack Quaid‘s Hughie as members of a team hoping to take down the corrupt, evil superheroes and their parent company/creators, Vought International. That company is headed up by a PR-obsessed superhero team called The Seven, led by Anthony Starr‘s Homelander. Since season one, Butcher and co have tried their utmost to reveal the sins of The Seven to the world but, in season three, they went to new extremes to realize their goals and Butcher was pushed to his limit.
As Butcher, Urban is the gruff, swaggering beating heart of the show. Blood-pumping, testosterone-flying — Urban plays Butcher like Jack Sparrow as a football hooligan.

When it comes to television, The Boys is a whole other caliber of superhero show. A satirical sting that knocks on the world’s obsession with superheroes, the Amazon Prime series is a benchmark in a genre that has become increasingly crowded. Part of that reason is due to Homelander, who is masterfully played by Anthony Starr. The leader of The Seven is the perfect example of what would happen if Clark Kent wasn’t the mild, mannered nice guy portrayed in the comics. Up until episode four, it’s clear that Homelander isn’t the kind of superhero the public feels he is.

Fantasy, sci-fi, and all things genre are finally becoming mainstays in awards season. Previously, bar the odd one or two TV shows or movies, fantasy projects would largely get ignored by the Oscars and Emmys. With “Everything Everywhere All at Once” just won Best Picture at the Oscars that pattern cleary has been broken — so much so that this year’s Best Drama Series line-up at the Emmys could be dominated by the genre. Here’s a rundown of the six fantasy and sci-fi shows that we’re predicting to be the strongest contenders.
“The Last of Us”
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey star as two survivors on a mission in a post-apocalyptic America overrun with zombies. Pascal’s Joel is tasked with escorting Ramsey’s Ellie to a facility where they hope to make a cure using her DNA as she is the only human to survive a zombie bite.
