He attended Indiana University in Indiana, Pennsylvania before completing his Bachelor's Degree from New York University in New York City. He earned his law degree from Fordham University Law School in New York City. His first job was in the law department of Allied Chemical and Dye Corporation. He opened his own practice in 1951.
- He was named by Mayor John V. Lindsay to licensing commissioner from 1966 to 1968. He served on the Criminal Court of New York and was acting State Supreme Court Justice and federal magistrate until he retired in 1991.
