Despite her hectic schedule, Dakota Fanning is trying to look her best on the promotional tour for her upcoming supernatural horror film, The Watchers.
At the movie’s Wednesday photocall in London, she looked stunning in a canvas dress that radiated springtime elegance.
The Watchers: Escaping from the Mysterious Creatures in the Dark
Fanning plays the lead character, Mina, in the film, who ends up lost and stranded in an untouched Irish forest. While looking for help, she comes across three strangers who appear to be hiding from an unknown threat that may be lurking in the shadows.

“I don’t know if anybody told you, but none of us knows what we’re doing,” announces two-time Oscar winner Jodie Foster halfway through the Drama Actress Emmy Roundtable. She’s surrounded by two more Oscar winners — Expats’ Nicole Kidman and Lessons in Chemistry’s Brie Larson — who nod in agreement. The True Detective star continues, “and that’s the real beauty of it, having that freshness of doubting yourself.” Over the course of an hour at The Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica, that trio, along with The Morning Show’s Jennifer Aniston, Shogun’s Anna Sawai, Griselda’s Sofía Vergara and Feud’s Naomi Watts, discuss everything from mentorship to menopause.
Anna Sawai, Naomi Watts, Jennifer Aniston, Nicole Kidman, Jodie Foster, Brie Larson and Sofía Vergara were photographed April 28 at The Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica.

Elle Fanning is best known for portraying Sleeping Beauty in the 2014 film Maleficent and its 2019 sequel Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. So, I am unsurprised that she chose to channel her iconic character, Aurora, on the red carpet at the 2024 Met Gala.
On Monday, May 6, Elle Fanning was among the many celebrities who attended the event, which raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and celebrates the Costume Institute’s annual exhibits.

The dress code for the night was “The Garden of Time,” inspired by the art museum’s new exhibition “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.” And I think the 26-year-old American actress captured the theme flawlessly, exuding romance and fantasy with her attire.

Kirsten Dunst attended the Los Angeles premiere of her latest dystopian action film, Civil War, before its April 12 release in US theaters. She exuded understated elegance in a black Rodarte dress, far different from the coquette-style mint green dress she wore to the film’s London screening last week.
Her previous dress also had a subtle elegance, but I wasn’t particularly fond of the silhouette or the styling.
I’m glad she gave the sleek, contemporary aesthetic another shot with this Rodarte creation. It reminds me of her white Gucci dress at the Oscars, and I hope she sticks with this look as it suits her so well compared to her typical printed, dated red carpet outfit choices.

The press tour for the dystopian action film Civil War is underway. Kirsten Dunst, who plays renowned war photojournalist Lee in the movie, kicked off the promotional activities on Tuesday by attending the Civil War special screening in London dressed in a modest mint green coquette-style gown.
Scheduled to be theatrically released on April 12, Civil War is set in near-future dystopian America. A team of journalists—two photographers and two reporters—travels from New York City to Washington, D.C., to cover the Civil War and chase a scoop while battling for survival as they try to reach the White House in time before rebels take over.
Kirsten Dunst’s outfit for the London premiere tells me that she isn’t a fan of method dressing. Though I know some are against it, I still think her outfit doesn’t feel appropriate for the movie.

There’s a myth in Hollywood that circulates around the start of every year that once all the Oscars have been handed, insiders can collectively catch their breath and resume a normal schedule. But that’s not really ever the case, especially for the fashion crowd that keeps a breakneck pace year-round.
That said, in the wake of the Academy Awards, there’s no better time to extend the congratulations and pats on the back one more round by honoring the linchpins of the red carpet season — celebrity stylists. That’s just what The Hollywood Reporter did on Wednesday with the rollout of the annual list of Hollywood’s Top 25 Stylists, published in print and online and toasted with a starry event at Sunset Tower co-hosted by Instagram.

To the casual observer, the fashion industry and all the glamorous red carpets, runways, photo shoots and campaigns where its wares are presented, posed and fawned over, the business can, at the very least, seem sprawling and intimidating.
But when you get a chance to peek behind the curtain — like The Hollywood Reporter did on Tuesday night during an intimate dinner co-hosted with Jimmy Choo at West Hollywood’s Sunset Tower to celebrate the magazine’s annual 25 Most Powerful Stylists list — the façade is stripped away to reveal something much more personal, familial even.
Actually, the most fitting description would be a family reunion — that is, if your relatives wear Loewe, Chanel or vintage Paco Rabanne paired with a chic pair of Jimmy Choos. But don’t take our word for it, trust real-life siblings Elle and Dakota Fanning who arrived together with their personal power stylist, honoree Samantha McMillen.

The actress stepped out in style at the Berlin premiere of the Netflix film, The Gray Man, wearing a sleek and sexy custom three-piece navy blue suit. Ahead of the movie screening at the Zoo Palast cinema, Ana showcased the dazzling Louis Vuitton ensemble, which she paired with shiny silver heels and dainty jewelry pieces. The longline blazer with peak lapels gave the look a more androgynous feel that perfectly complemented the slim-fitted trousers and tailored vest. She was styled by Samantha McMillen. Melissa McCarthy says Monday night’s InStyle Awards at the Getty Center was her first big public outing since the onset of the pandemic. “I went into a Cvs like two months ago and was like, ‘Uhhh, I don’ know what to do,’” she said from the stage after being presented with this year’s Icon Award from her “Nine Perfect Strangers” co-star Nicole Kidman.
Earlier, on the arrivals carpet, she told me, “This is the first time I’m with humans besides my fella and the humans I bore.”
And that’s when things got emotional. As we were talking, fellow honoree Simone Biles walked by. “Oh, my God, I just love you,” McCarthy said to the Olympic gymnast.
McCarthy began to cry as she told Biles how much she means to her and her young daughters. Wiping away tears, McCarthy said to me, “I gotta get a Kleenex.

Welcome to this week’s “Just for Variety.”
“And Just Like That …” will not only look like “Sex and the City” for a new generation, with Nicole Ari Parker, Sara Ramírez, Sarita Choudhury and Karen Pittman joining the cast, but the HBO Max reboot will also tackle issues around race. “I’m excited to be a part of something that’s different for them,” Parker tells me. “We can talk about the elephant in the room that there were no fully fleshed-out characters of color, but now here’s the four of us. We’re real people, and they’ve been great to work with, and some of our [storylines] deal with race and deal with real experiences. It’s New York City!”
The series, of course, will bring back some of its signature sexiness as well. “We’re grown-ass women, so we know how to keep it sexy,” Parker says,...

Exclusive: Netflix continues to set the tone for the 2020 Toronto Film Festival Market. Deadline hears that the streamer is wrapping up a deal near $30 million for worldwide rights to Malcolm & Marie, a Sam Levinson-directed romantic drama that stars Zendaya and John David Washington. This follows the around $20 million Netflix deal for the Halle Berry-directed Bruised, the fest’s first major deal made before the film’s premiere. Netflix yesterday acquired Pieces Of A Woman, which won the Best Actress prize for Vanessa Kirby at Venice.
Shot quietly during the production lockdown on 35mm in black and white with help from Fotokem, Malcolm & Marie was the first post-pandemic film to complete production. There was a stampede for this one, and I’m told that others in the mix were HBO, Amazon, Searchlight, MGM, Apple, A24 and Focus Features. While the pandemic seemed likely to throw a wet...

Amber Heard’s sister, Whitney Henriquez, told a court Thursday that she begged her not to marry Johnny Depp because of his alleged violence toward Heard. Henriquez was giving evidence on the 13th day of Depp’s libel action against the publisher of The Sun newspaper.
Depp is suing News Group Newspapers and journalist Dan Wootton for an article on The Sun website that described him as a “wife beater.” Depp denies that he was ever violent toward Heard, to whom he was married from 2015 to 2017.
Early in the relationship, Henriquez noticed bruising and swelling on her sister’s face and body.
“I saw that her face was swollen and she had a mark under her eye,” she said. “I had my suspicions before, but it was clear to me that she had been hit.”
Henriquez confronted her about it. “I said: ‘What the f— is happening? You have to talk to me.

Amber Heard, giving evidence Wednesday at London’s Royal Courts of Justice on the 12th day of Johnny Depp’s libel trial against the publisher of The Sun newspaper, alleged Depp headbutted her the night before she appeared on James Corden’s “The Late Late Show” in December 2015.

Heard has described in her witness statement the incident in December 2015 as “one of the worst and most violent nights of our relationship.”
Heard alleges that Depp slapped her, dragged her by the hair through their apartment – pulling clumps of her hair out – and then repeatedly punched her in the head.
Laws said: “That’s just a complete set of lies, isn’t it?...

Malcolm Connolly, Johnny Depp‘s bodyguard who has worked with the actor for more than 16 years, testified at court on the sixth day of the trial against The Sun.
News Group Newspapers, representing the publication as its owner, went to court last week to defend against the Pirates of the Caribbean‘s libel case for writing up a piece that accused him of being a “wife-beater” back in 2016. While Sasha Wass QC, leading the defendants, has grilled Depp about getting physically violent with his then-wife on several occasions, the actor has also brought up instances of Heard attacking him, one of which was on her 30th birthday, where the Aquaman actress defecated in her former husband’s bed the next morning.
Now, the American thespian’s bodyguard, Malcolm Connolly, who previously asserted that he never saw Depp “attack or hit” his wife, has discussed the incident in March 2015 in Australia...

(Press Association) A Hollywood stylist has told the High Court that Amber Heard had “no visible” injuries the day after the actress alleges Johnny Depp was violent towards her during a heated row.
Samantha McMillen said she spent “much of the afternoon and early evening” with Heard, 34, on December 16 2015 as the star prepared to appear on James Corden’s The Late Late Show and she could “see clearly” that Heard had no marks, cuts or bruises.
Depp, 57, is alleged to have been violent towards Heard in an argument at their Los Angeles penthouse on December 15, which he denies.
