Tales of the Walking Dead wrapped up its first season Sunday with a trippy episode that focused on a young couple claiming a house as their own after its owner dies.
Thanks to some ghostly occurrences, it quickly became a battle for survival.
Danny Ramirez, who played Eric, is no stranger to the franchise.
Ramirez revealed that he did 10 sessions for Telltale's The Walking Dead videogame.
He was set to play Javier.
"I played Javier before they aged him up," Ramirez said with a laugh.
"I had been in the world for a moment," he said, before revealing that working on Tales of the Walking Dead felt like a redemption arc for him.
Danny liked that his episode was unattached to anything else in The Walking Dead universe.
"It feels like I went in and did a one-hour mini-movie," the actor said while crediting the writer (Lindsey Villarreal), the...

“Vida” showrunner Tanya Saracho, “One Day at a Time” co-showrunner Mike Royce and TV writer and #PayUpHollywood co-founder Liz Hsiao Lan Alper are launching a program to support underrepresented groups in the television industry and provide them with the skill set to become writers’ assistants and script coordinators.
The initiative has partnered with the Writers Guild Foundation to offer tools and education to scribes who identify as Bipoc, LGBTQ+, disabled writers or writers over the age of 50 to step into these support staff roles that have traditionally been a gateway to the world of TV writing. Program graduates will be included on a list of trained writers’ assistants and script coordinators that will then be shared with studios, networks and showrunners in order to broaden the pool of potential eligible hires and amplify underrepresented groups.

Tanya Saracho (Vida), Mike Royce (One Day at a Time), and Liz Hsiao Lan Alper (Day of the Dead) continue to do the work to bring more equity and inclusion to Hollywood — something that it seems to have trouble with as of late (we’re looking at you HFPA). The trio has partnered with the Writers Guild Foundation to launch the Writers’ Access Support Staff Training Program, a first-of-its-kind initiative to support the full inclusion and employment of underrepresented groups in the television industry.
The inaugural program has a mission is to provide writers who are Bipoc, LGBTQ+, writers with disabilities, and writers over the age of 50, with tools and education to become a writers’ assistant and script coordinator, ultimately resulting in meaningful employment opportunities.
Historically, these positions have historically been an invaluable way to learn the writing process first-hand, with the ultimate goal of getting a writing job. Graduates...

It’s been over 30 years since Alison Bechdel, a renowned cartoonist, created the Bechdel-Wallace Test with the intention of highlighting Hollywood’s persistent gender disparities on-screen. The original Bechdel test simply asked whether a film features two women talking to each other about something other than a man.
But the Bechdel Test mostly addresses the way white women are portrayed in film, and expectations of diversity and representation have changed since the 1980s.
This is why FiveThirtyEight, a politics and economics website with a data journalism perspective, reached out to 13 women in the film and television industry and asked them to devise their own tests.

It’s 9:20 pm on Friday, September 16th. I’m on the tarmac of Burbank’s Bob Hope Airport, just two Z-Quill and one red-eye flight away from my first Ifp Film Week. My luggage occupies the last available overhead space. Inside are two stacks of business cards for myself and my producer Lindsey Villarreal, a raincoat (I’d heard it rains outside of L.A.), and a gay pride cape (costume for a homo-hip-hop performance on Wednesday night). Before I know it, it’s take-off time for me and my short-form episodic series Butch & Nellie Take the Rap Game. I first became involved with […]...
