Exclusive: In a near seven-figure deal, Fox has acquired the spec script Vacation Friends by the sibling scribe team Tom Mullen & Tim Mullen. The plan is for Steve Pink to direct, and for Chris Pratt and Anna Faris to star. Todd Garner is producing through his Broken Road Pictures banner. The hope is to shoot later this year. Pratt and Faris, who are married off screen, will play a crazy wild couple that bonds with a straight laced couple on vacation in Mexico. They have a great time, and then want to rekindle the fun. Once the other couple gets back to their normal life, it’s not nearly the same kind of fun and their vacation friends won’t go away. It’s like What About Bob? with a couple. It’s another in a recent series of deals with studios that were willing to pay for a fully...

It’s that time of year again: The season when fans flock to their beloved stadium bleachers for hot dogs, beer and, of course, the boys of summer. Players are not only returning to the field, but also making their way back to the big screen — only, not in the traditional way.
A feature adaptation of Sullivan’s Sluggers is in the works, and while the plot revolves around the supernatural, it’s a far cry from Field of Dreams. The 200-page horror baseball graphic novel, by Andrew Smith and James Stokoe, follows a minor league manager named Casey Sullivan and his rag-tag team, The Sluggers, as they fight for their lives in a town overrun with “shape-shifting monsters.”

Growing up a Mets fan, I learned quickly that even the sport of baseball could be riddled with stomach churning horrors. However, things are about to get taken to the extreme with the latest graphic novel adaptation that's on its way!
THR reports that Broken Road Production’s Todd Garner has teamed up with Adam Herz and Joshua Shader of Terra Firma Films to produce an adaptation of Sullivan’s Sluggers, a horror baseball graphic novel by Mark Andrew Smith and James Stokoe. Tom and Tim Mullen have been tapped to write the script.
Described by Smith as "Major League meets Zombieland and then some,” Sluggers follows has-been baseball manager Casey Sullivan and his dysfunctional minor league Sluggers, who get an invitation to play a small venue game. Soon enough they find themselves fighting for their lives against a town of shape-shifting monsters on a feeding frenzy, and the has-beens...

There's a very cool sounding horror concept being adapted from a graphic novel to the big screen! It's a horror story that centers on baseball, and it's called Sullivan's Sluggers.
The comic was created by Mark Andrew Smith and James Stokoe who describes the story as "Major League meets Zombieland and then some.” The story follows a has-been baseball manager named Casey Sullivan and his dysfunctional minor league Sluggers who get an invitation to play a small venue game. Soon enough, they find themselves fighting for their lives against a town of shape-shifting monsters on a feeding frenzy and the has-beens and wannabes must use long-forgotten skills of teamwork to get out alive.
The 200-page graphic novel is being sold by the creators through the popular online fundraising company Kickstarter.com. They ended up raising six times their pledge goal in the first five days, which is a pretty impressive feat.
