To those who dislike Alex Rodriguez, Thursday (Oct. 6) was your Christmas, birthday and New Year's Eve all rolled up into one. The Detroit Tigers beat the New York Yankees 3-2 and won their Alds series.
A-Rod, who has earned a reputation of not delivering in the clutch, failed again after going 0-4 with three strikeouts, including the one that ended the game. For the series, Rodriguez only had two hits in 18 at bats with six strikeouts.
Detroit got off to a quick start with two first inning home runs by Don Kelly and Delmon Young. The Yankees did have 10 hits over the course of the game, but could only convert them into two runs.
Next up for Detroit are the Texas Rangers. The Yankees will have to wait until next season.
