Battle for Pandora is The Asylum’s mockbuster answer to Avatar: The Way of Water, although the trailer looked like it was as much inspired by James Cameron’s earlier film The Abyss, and perhaps inevitably given the two film’s similar effects, Terminator 2. It also looked a lot more interesting than anything to do with the Avatar franchise, although to be honest that really wouldn’t be too hard.
The Cassini 3 landed on Saturn’s moon Pandora and promptly stopped communicating with Earth. In response, a rescue mission led by Commander Hank Lewis (Tom Sizemore), is dispatched. On board is infectious disease specialist Dr. Jennifer Ryan (Natalie Storrs) and her husband Dr. Cliff Ryan (Mark Ricketson). This complicates things because Jennifer and the Cassini’s captain Greg (Kristos Andrews) have a history.

Uncork’d Entertainment has acquired director James Cullen Bressack’s well-received horror-comedy, “Murder, Anyone?” based on the play of the same name by Bressack’s father, Emmy-award winner Gordon Bressack.
The film will be released in early 2023.
“Murder, Anyone?” explores the concept of manifestation, and stars Kristos Andrews (“The Bay”), Galadriel Stineman (“The Middle”), Maurice Lamarche (“Pinky and the Brain”), Spencer Breslin, and Oscar nominee Sally Kirkland.
The story follows playwrights George and Charlie, tasked with the challenge of creating the next “avant-garde, surrealistic, mind-bending neo-noire thriller.” Unfortunately, as they write, the story comes to life in real time — but their own emotions and arguments also begin to manifest on film, creating sharp twists and turns and filling their life with hilarity — and chaos.

"Do not evac!!" The Asylum has revealed their official trailer for a spoof movie called Battle for Pandora, arriving in theaters today. The Asylum is known for making incredibly cheap, hilariously bad knock offs of major Hollywood blockbusters, and they're still going strong even nowadays (they also made the Sharknado franchise). This time they're riffing on James Cameron's Avatar movies (with Avatar: The Way of Water in theaters in two weeks) with this one, which uses the "Pandora" planet and lots of blue-tinged footage. But everything else is about different. After a help signal from a research vessel makes it back to Earth, the U.S. Space Force sends a rescue ship to Saturn's moon Pandora. But when they try to land, they discover that it's inhabited by a highly evolved humanoid species. Starring Tom Sizemore, Kristos Andrews, and Mark Andrew Ricketson. In director James Cullen Bressack’s upcoming film, “Murder, Anyone?”, two playwrights named George and Charlie, are tasked with the challenge of creating the next “avant-garde, surrealistic, mind-bending neo-noire thriller.”
Unfortunately, as they write, the story comes to life in real time. However, their own emotions and arguments also begin to manifest on film, creating sharp twists and turns and filling their life with hilarity — and chaos. And below, you can get a hint of what that’s like courtesy of some exclusive-to-TheWrap images.
The comedic play-within-a-play-within-a-movie, which per Bressack contemplates “the complexities of language, art, theater, film and more” is also especially personal for him. It’s based on the play written by his father, Emmy award-winning “Pinky and the Brain” writer Gordon Bressack, who died in 2019.
“I self financed and made the film in honor of my father’s memory so his words could live on,” Bressack said.

James Cullen Bressack (“Fortress”) is adapting the play “Murder, Anyone?” into a feature film, Variety can exclusively reveal.
“Muder, Anyone?” was originally written by Bressack’s father, Emmy Award-winning “Pinky and the Brain” writer Gordon Bressack. The play first premiered at the White Fire Theatre in Los Angeles in 2017.
Gordon Bressack, who worked on dozens of beloved animated shows including “Animaniacs” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” died in 2019.
Now his son will direct and produce a feature film adaptation, in part to “bring attention to his work,” Bressack tells Variety.
Spencer Breslin (“The Happening”) and Kristos Andrews (“The Bay”) are set to star in the film, a faithful adaptation of Bressack Sr.’s show about two playwrights tasked with creating a new “avant-garde, surrealistic, mind-bending neo-noire thriller” who find their story coming to life as they write.
Breslin and Andrews are joined by Galadriel Stineman (“The Is Us”), Maurice Lamarche (“Animaniacs”), Charles M.

“The Bold and the Beautiful” is the only half-hour broadcast soap opera among hour-long serials, and it was at a disadvantage in the total nominations when the 2018 Daytime Emmy bids were announced (it had 18). But the CBS drama proved mighty at the Creative Arts Awards, which were handed out on Friday night, April 27, in advance of the main event on Sunday, April 29. Click here for the full list of winners.
“B&B” won seven awards, more than the other three soap operas combined. It was awarded Best Lighting Direction, Best Technical Team, Best Sound Mixing, Best Music Direction/Composition, Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Best Stunt Coordination. “General Hospital” won three times. “The Young and the Restless” came away with two prizes. “Days of Our Lives” was shockingly shut out of the Creative Arts Awards. Is this a good sign for “B&B” in the Best Drama Series race?...

Coming into these Emmys, “The Bold and the Beautiful” was the least nominated of the four broadcast soap operas with 18 bids, but it got the last laugh — at least at Creative Arts. The CBS serial took home seven prizes, more than any other drama and tied with “Sesame Street” as the most awarded program — period. “B&B” won for its lighting direction,...
