Everett Grant has beef with Russian mobster Maxim Vasiliiv played by Oleg Prudius or if you’re a pro wrestling fan, Vladimir Kozlov. It seems Everett’s security company has been cutting into the Russian mob’s profits and they’re not happy about that. Since Phoenix is an action film, they decide to settle it with a fight to the death. That would be Everett’s death via a bullet to the head made to look like suicide.
WWE wrestler Natalie Eva Marie plays Everett’s daughter Fiona, Phoenix to her friends. She’s told of his death by General Shackleton. She knows he would never have killed himself and decides to put her hand-to-hand combat trainer’s skills to work finding answers.

For a while there, it seemed like tag team wrestling in World Wrestling Entertainment was dead in the water. A cursory look at some of the past champions in the period between the unification of the titles in 2009 to the current day paints a particularly dreary picture, with such historic teams as Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov, The Corre (Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel) and The New Nexus (David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty) holding the shiny copper pennies at various points.
Go even further back, to the miserable mid-2000s, and the division is cluttered with teams like Gymini, The Dicks and The Heartthrobs. It has been bleak, to say the least.
Maybe it is too optimistic to commit to this, but the winds of change seem to have spread through the WWE and tag team wrestling is a thing once more. There are actual teams inhabiting the division, The New...

The origins of wrestlers using music to enhance their entrances are not clear with Glen Stride often cited as being the first wrestler to do so.
The early 1950s saw female champion Mildred Burke often utilise music while Gorgeous George associated himself with ‘Pomp and Circumstance,’ a song which was later used by ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage.
However, Freebird Michael Hayes is recognised as the man who took the relationship between wrestling and music to the next level.
Hayes unwittingly changed the wrestling business for the better as he convinced promoters to put a tape of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Freebird” into the P.A. system as they made their way to the ring. Before this, the majority wrestlers didn’t have entrance songs, relying on their standing with the fan base to make their entrance unique and entertaining.

German filmmaker Cyril Tuschi will be in New York this evening to present Khodorkovsky at Film Forum, where the doc sees a run through December 13. As Vladimir Kozlov reports for the Moscow News, audiences in Russia will have a harder time catching this "portrait of Mikhail Khodorkovsky, ex-owner of the Yukos oil empire and a Kremlin opponent, who is serving a 13-year sentence for tax evasion, embezzlement and money laundering. Just over a week before the scheduled release date, December 1, the films distributor, Kinoklub, said six Moscow theaters that originally agreed to screen the movie had pulled it under various pretexts. As a result, the film is to open only at one cinema, Eldar, and some screenings are also to be held at the gallery Fotoloft in the Winzavod arts center."

WWE 12 will finally hit stores on Tuesday (in the U.S.) and on Friday (in the U.K.) and after some stellar reviews in the last few days, I don’t remember being this excited about a wrestling video game in years. IGN’s 9.0 scoring review mentioned the gameplay was ‘No Mercy like’ several times and there is actually a combat system here that makes sense and isn’t just a flashy presentation with no substance to the graphics. But then they still have the graphics and all the cool modes and the first time, Thq’s video game franchise feels like it belongs on the shelf alongside the mastered EA sports franchises of FIFA and Madden. IGN overall called it ‘amazing’.
Over the past few months, Thq have teased us as to what wrestlers will be included in the game and now on the eve of release we have a final figure.

Over its long history, professional wrestling has always had a deep connection to the world of music. Cyndi Lauper helped get the WWE on MTV, Alice Cooper appeared in the corner of Jake "The Snake" Roberts at WrestleMania III, and the likes of Snoop Dogg and Jewel have served as recent guest hosts on the organization's flagship Monday night program "Raw." And a very odd tag team came together Monday night to share hosting duties, as hip-hop star and reality TV icon Flavor Flav co-hosted the show, live from the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, with epic rocker Meat Loaf.

WWE Studios is developing its first television sitcom, wrestler Santino Morella announced on January 25 at the ‘Monday Night Raw’ event in Columbus, Ohio. Morella announced publicly for the first time that the studio, which was founded in 2002 and has only released movies to date, including ‘The Marine’ and ‘12 Rounds,’ is developing the ‘Santino Morella Sitcom.’ Obviously, Morella will star in the show, alongside co-wwe stars Beth Phoenix and Vladimir Kozlov, who will play his girlfriend and best friend. Morella didn’t give away many of the details, but said it will be more of a traditional multi-camera sitcom, as opposed to a reality show. “I think [...]...
