Some movie producer made a wrong turn somewhere.
Since 2003’s “Wrong Turn” with Eliza Dushku and Emmanuelle Chriqui, the “Wrong Turn” series has become a cult favorite for its die hard fans.
“Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines” marked its fifth entry into the franchise with a certain twist—the favorite hillbilly cannibals are not stalking for victims in the mountain forests this time, but in a small town.
The backdrop of the movie has a small West Virginia town hosting the Mountain Man Festival on Halloween (think Lollapalooza meets Burning Man Festival).
One of the members of the cannibal family was arrested and jailed in town, and then it was up to the three brothers to rescue their family. However, the local sheriff and a few out-of-town visitors defend themselves from this oncoming attack.

*there are spoilers here. Director/writer: Declan O'Brien. Cast: Doug Bradley, Roxanne McKee, Camilla Arfwedson, Borislav Iliev, Peter Brooke, Paul Luebke, Kyle Redmond-Jones, Radoslav Parvanov, Amy Lennox, Duncan Wisbey, Oliver Hoare, George Karlukovski, and Simon Ginty. The Wrong Turn series of films has become a little confusing to follow. Two mutant hillbillies were killed in the original Wrong Turn film: Saw Tooth and One Eye. This left Three Finger alone to fight in Wrong Turn 2: Dead End and Wrong Turn 3: Left For Dead. Three Finger's deformed son Three Toes would participate in the second sequel. And, in Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines, the action begins after Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings and before the original Wrong Turn and the next two sequels. Are you confused now too? Director Declan O'Brien has had to play around with the timeline of this horror franchise a bit as many of the...

In what is one of the longest running horror franchises in recent years, the Wrong Turn series of films continues with Wrong Turn 5: Bloodbath. This film is currently shooting in Bulgaria. Wrong Turn 5 will also be a prequel similar to Wrong Turn 4. This title takes place after Wrong Turn 4 and before the original film. Also of note, Hellraiser actor Doug Bradley will participate in this venture. For now, an early concept poster has become available. In the graphic, One-Eye, Saw Tooth and Three Finger can be seen in shadows. Elements of a musical festival, in which the film is set, can also be seen while a victim screams in terror. That “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” street cred is still serving Tobe Hooper pretty well, though the director hasn’t really done a whole lot of note in a while. The only film of his I’ve seen since was 2004′s “Toolbox Murders”, which I liked, though it really wasn’t anything innovative. He’s also directed some episodes of the cable horror show “Masters of Horror”, but he’s been pretty quiet since. Hooper’s latest in over 6 years is the desert-set “Djinn”. I don’t recognize any of the faces in the cast, but setting a horror movie in one of those ridiculously opulent Middle Eastern hotels should go a long way. Check out the first extended trailer for Tobe Hooper’s “Djinn” below. An Emirati couple return home from a trip and discover that their new apartment has been built on a site that is home to some malevolent beings.

Watching these old horror icons continue to fail is starting to get depressing. Tobe Hooper - the man behind The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Poltergeiest - is the latest struggling with a genre film. Last March Hooper got behind te camera for Djinn, a supernatural horror flick that stars Khalid Laith, Razane Jammal, Aiysha Hart, Carole Abboud, Paul Luebke, and May El Calamawy. Sounding like an Arabic ripoff of Paranormal Activity and Poltergeist, "The story follows a young Emirati couple who return home from the U.S. to discover that their new apartment in a luxury high-rise built on the site of an abandoned fishing village is also home to the malevolent beings known as "djinn.""
