The third installment of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ hit theaters on May 5th, 2023, marking a significant success for the studio following the disappointing reception of ‘Quantumania’. Gunn initially proposed ideas for this final film in November 2014, later confirming his return as writer and director in April 2017.
However, Disney dismissed him from the project in July 2018 due to controversial Twitter posts, only to reinstate him by October of the same year. His comeback was announced publicly in March 2019, and production resumed once he completed his work on DC’s ‘The Suicide Squad’ and ‘Peacemaker’ series. Despite the movie’s success, Gunn had no plans to remain in the MCU, as he had already been appointed co-chairman and co-ceo of DC Studios, gearing up to lead a new and revamped DC Universe, replacing the existing Dceu.
In the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, by the movie’s conclusion, most of the team embarked on their own paths.

Over the years, the MCU has provided its fans with a rich tapestry of intergalactic adventures and showdowns between the good, the evil, and the grey, and one particularly fascinating cog in the machine has been Karen Gillan’s Nebula.
Among one of the most memorable characters in the superhero film franchise, the former cybernetic assassin’s journey, even after her redemption in the past few movies, culminates into an experience of genuine happiness at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Kung Fu Panda has become one of the most iconic animated series of all time. Although targeted at children, the films have found a huge viewership among adults. This is not surprising considering just how good the films are. Perfectly balancing comedy and story, they have created a world like no other. Not only does it have deeply fascinating power structures and dynamics, but it is one of the most beautiful worlds in animation.
Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024)
The third film from the franchise was released in 2016. When it was announced that a fourth part would be coming out, eight years after the previous one, many expected it to be a flop. However, fans cannot seem to get enough of these characters and the world.

Are you a fan of the Kung Fu Panda film series? Well, then be ready to muster your forces, because Kung Fu Panda 4’s original plan for Angelina Jolie & Jackie Chan’s characters will have you bouncing with grief. Or perhaps swinging from the trees like Monkey and Tigress themselves!
DreamWorks Animation’s latest release debuted in theaters earlier this month (March 8), continuing the adventures of Jack Black’s character, Dragon Warrior Po. With a new city and a deadly new enemy to defeat in order to keep the valley peaceful, Po must find himself in the fourth installment, which is helmed by Mike Mitchell.

The director of Kung Fu Panda 4 just explained why the Furious Five was absent from the franchise's fourth movie.
The iconic group of Kung Fu Masters was introduced in the very first film in the franchise, made up of Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Crane (David Cross), Viper (Lucy Liu), and Mantis (Seth Rogen). Since their introduction, they’ve played critical roles in every installment since—until now.
While the group gets a brief mention towards the start of the movie (and one other surprise moment later on), they do not partake in Po’s journey to take down Viola Davis’ The Chameleon.

When the second act in the Star Wars game series, Survivor, launched on April 28, 2023, it came with a lot of questions and mystery surrounding it. The game effectively used the formula of the series’ first iteration to make it even better and grander.
Cameron Monaghan as Cal Kestis in Star Wars
However, it still left some questions unanswered. The journey of Cal Kestis in particular, played by actor Cameron Monaghan in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, aroused a lot of curiosity in the fans’ minds. Addressing the issue, the Game Director, Stig Asmussen in an interview with Dexerto, spilled some beans.
A Star Wars game trilogy was the vision
The game director revealed what he was thinking before Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was a reality. Asmussen revealed that while the team was working on the first game, Fallen Order, he imagined himself leading the development of his own Star Wars trilogy of games.

A new chapter in the “Kung Fu Panda” saga has been unleashed upon movie patrons. This film is accurately called Kung Fu Panda 4 and comes eight years after 2016’s Kung Fu Panda 3. This adventure, however, seems to be less a solid entry in the series and more of an example of the law of diminishing returns as it enjoys its best moments harkening back to earlier films in the series.
Po (Jack Black) faces his most difficult challenge yet as he is told he must retire from fighting as the Dragon Warrior and focus on more spiritual endeavors. For Po, however, this is problematic for two reasons: 1) first, he does not feel qualified to ascend to any sort of spiritual leadership and instead prefers to stick to “kicking butt” and, 2) he must find and train an apprentice to replace himself as the new Dragon Warrior to protect the Valley of Peace.

It's been nearly a decade since "Kung Fu Panda 3" hit theaters, but the paw-punching panda hasn't been dormant the entire time. Since the sequel's arrival in theaters, there have been two DreamWorks Animation Television shows ("Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny" and "Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight") following Po's adventures after what seemed like a nice trilogy capper. So it's not as if we've been short on martial arts mayhem. The latter series even managed to lure Jack Black back to voice Po, and it just wrapped up a three-season run in September 2023. So bringing "Kung Fu Panda" back to the big screen really needed to feel worth it. How did "Shrek Forever After" director Mike Mitchell and co-director Stephanie Ma Stine ("She-Ra and the Princesses of Power") fare with the latest mystical journey for Po?

The first trailer for Eli Roth's "Borderlands" has drawn mixed responses from fans of the original video games. Some are unhappy with the casting choices for characters, like comedian Kevin Hart as tough guy Roland and Cate Blanchett as Lilith, a character who was in her 20s in the first "Borderlands" game. And then there are the characters who didn't get cast at all.
Lilith and Roland were two of the four playable characters in Gearbox Software's original chaotic shooter-looter, which allowed up to four players to team up and take on the hostile planet of Pandora in the search for a legendary Vault. Lilith has the advantage of strange powers that allow her to become temporarily invisible, while Roland is highly effective with heavy guns and has an automatic turret for backup. "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" ended with a new team of Guardians led by Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper). One of their number was Phyla (Kai Zen), a young white-haired girl and freed test subject of evil geneticist the High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji).

Starfield is a huge game. Surprising, but it is. Starfield is probably Bethesda’s largest game to date, and as is Bethesda (and open world) tradition, that experience is littered with secrets, references, and good old-fashioned Easter eggs.
Quite frankly, it’s difficult to not find a secret or Easter egg while exploring the outer recesses of Starfield. Perhaps you encountered someone trying to sell you an extended warranty on your ship, or maybe you noticed that all of the planets in the starting system of Alpha Centauri are named after famous astronauts.
These are only a few of the references you can find throughout the game, and quite frankly, not all of Starfield’s secrets and Easter eggs are created equal. Some are more impressive, either because they provide tangible rewards or because they show off mechanics you didn’t even know the game had. Others are just so...

A DC fan took to Threads to ask Gunn if he had “given any thought to the lay of the land in the Dcu.” The fan wanted to know where each of the heroes live in the universe to get a visual representation of how far or close their proximity is to each other.

Prior to that, a Guardians of the Galaxy fan asked Gunn if there was a possibility that some of the actors from the Marvel film could guest star as themselves in the new season of Peacemaker. The fan mentioned Chris Pratt, who played Star-Lord Peter Quill and Pom Klementieff, who played Mantis.

Note: Light spoilers ahead for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” may mark the end of the Guardians as we know them, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t continuing on. In fact, the film’s post-credits tag makes it explicitly clear that “The Legendary Star-Lord Will Return.” Now, you might be wondering if the word “legendary” signifies something important, or maybe someone new — and those instincts would be right.
The good news is “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” doesn’t actually kill off any of the Guardians, as many expected it to. There were a few scares between Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), but ultimately, they all survived. That said, they did kind of break up.
The end of the film sees the original Guardians go in several different directions. Peter heads back to Earth to find his...

This article contains spoilers for "Secret Invasion."
Well, that just happened. The season finale of Marvel Studios' "Secret Invasion" was a scant 38 minutes including the "previously on..." recap and credits, but the blur of events included a fight between two Super Skrulls imbued with the superpowers of Captain Marvel, the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Thanos, and Thanos' goons from "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame." That might sound like an epic battle, but it was pretty short-lived and mostly just left us with a lot of questions about how DNA works in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Although Marvel has made a fortune bringing their teams to life with the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy movies, two of their most popular teams have taken more time to realize in the Marvel Cinematic Universe due to Fox owning the rights. Now that Disney has purchased Fox, it’s finally time for Marvel Studios to make the faithful adaptations for the two notable properties since the production company has effortlessly done so with their other characters in the past. The two properties are, of course, X-Men and Fantastic Four. Both have been adapted and re-adapted when 20th Century Fox held the rights.
Now that these teams are making like Spider-man and coming home, casting rumors are getting thrown around by fans in debates about which actors and actresses they want to see in these roles. Fantastic Four is one that people are ready to be rebooted after the...

"Guardians of the Galaxy" was a massive audience-pleaser, and one of those faces in the theater it brought a smile to was none other than Kevin Bacon's. Imagine being Kevin Bacon sitting in your local multiplex, throwing back some popcorn and watching the latest big MCU movie only to find out you yourself end up being not only name-checked in the movie, but also become kind of essential to the plot.
Bacon would ultimately appear alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy themselves in last year's "The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special," but before that was even a possibility, he was just a movie fan whose "jaw dropped" when he heard his name pop up in that first film. He described that moment in an interview with IGN:

The "Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy has concluded, and though we're going to see more of Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) at least, the Guardians team as we know them have finished their on-screen adventures. Though they've added members like Kraglin (Sean Gunn), Mantis (Pom Klementieff), and Nebula (Karen Gillan) over the films, the original group consisted of Star-Lord, Gamora (Zoe Sandaña), Groot (voice of Vin Diesel), Drax (Dave Bautista), and Rocket (voice of Bradley Cooper). The ragtag team of unlikely heroes could have had other members in their makeup, according to writer/director James Gunn (via ComicBook.com). One of those characters is Bug.
Haven't heard of Bug? Don't worry. While he was a part of the 2008 "Guardians" comic run by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, he wasn't exactly a well-known member. That said, there was a time when Bug was actually in a draft of the script. Let's take a look at Bug,...

In James Gunn's 2014 film "Guardians of the Galaxy," the titular heroes visited the museum of the Collector (Benicio Del Toro), an alien being who took pride in amassing the galaxy's rarest trinkets. He kept his collection on display in a series of glass boxes, happy to show visitors around. When the Collector came into possession of an Infinity Stone, a powerful magical rock with explosive properties, it laid waste to most of his collection, but the ensuing explosion also freed an animal: Cosmo, the Soviet space dog. In the first "Guardians," Cosmo was merely a dog that licked the Collector's face. In subsequent sequels, Cosmo would be equipped with a collar that allowed her to speak (her voice was provided by Maria Bakalova) and would eventually discover she had psychokinetic powers.

In the third and final installment of Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, director James Gunn reserved the lion’s share of the characterization for anthropomorphic characters, as seen through the saga of Rocket and his friends. Whatever little was accorded to humans or humanoids was mostly reflected through the trio of dunderheads: Nebula, Mantis, and Drax. Not only were these characters quite influential in the lore of the Guardians during the Infinity Saga, but their arcs were significantly more interesting than that of Star-Lord, the lead protagonist of the series. James Gunn had previously stated that he would end the journey of the current team of the “Guardians” by concluding the trilogy, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that we won’t see them in the MCU ever again. In this article, we will go through the actions and character arc of the trio in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 to...

Former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista is all over Hollywood these days. He's appeared in films like "Spectre," "Blade Runner 2049," "Army of the Dead," "Dune," "Stuger," "Knock at the Cabin," and "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery." He is, of course, currently starring in the Marvel film "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3," reprising the role of Drax the Destroyer. The character is the heart of this group and, along with Mantis (Pom Klementieff), the comic relief. Drax takes everything literally, sometimes thinks he can make himself invisible, and would do absolutely anything for his friends.
When he was up for the role of Drax in the 2014 film "Guardians of the Galaxy," he couldn't have known how much his life would change when James Gunn cast him. He'd been auditioning and had seen other wrestlers like Dwayne Johnson make the transition from wrestling to acting, but it hadn't really taken off for him yet.

"The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special" was a little treat for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in late 2022. While waiting for Phase 5 to kick off in earnest with "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania," James Gunn delivered a sweet, simple, and charming Christmas special that was widely praised, even if it wasn't what fans of the MCU were accustomed to. It was a relatively small-scale story without a ton of action. But Gunn did originally consider a more action-heavy version of the special before deciding against it.
Speaking with FilmCon ahead of the special's release, Gunn addressed how he cooked up the story. Ultimately, he landed on a story involving Mantis and Drax trying to kidnap Kevin Bacon as a gift for Star-Lord to help their pal get into the spirit of Christmas. It's a combination of silly and sweet, though more action was on the table before the director changed his mind.

If we are being completely honest, as the protagonist of MCU’s Guardians of the Galaxy movies, the part human, part celestial Peter Quill, is the least interesting character of the team. Despite that, this Han Solo wannabe with goofy Casanova mannerisms was given the most importance compared to the rest of the team members due to his being the leader and the founding member of the team. On the other side of the spectrum, there is the intergalactic assassin Gamora, the adopted daughter of the mad Titan, Thanos—a significantly interesting character who was given too little to work with in most of her appearances. Both of these characters fell in love with each other through the course of the first two “Guardians” movies and played crucial roles in the biggest mega-crossover event of the MCU, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

After being saved by the “Ding Dong Keep It On” bell on “New York Night,” Medusa was on a mission to prove she deserved her spot in Wednesday night’s “The Masked Singer” finale. She clawed her way back into the competition, taking out Gargoyle and Mantis in the “Battle of the Saved.” Next, the snake-headed songstress belted her way through the “Quarter Finals (British Invasion Night)” and sent home California Roll in the “Semi-Finals,” the quintet that originally defeated her.

It was déjà vu for David Archuleta on Wednesday night’s finale of “The Masked Singer.” The 32-year old performer who had been masquerading as Macaw all season finished in second place to Medusa, the same position he landed on Season 7 of “American Idol” when he lost to David Cook. His emotional journey of self-discovery ended with performances of “Hold Back the River” by James Bay and “All By Myself” by Eric Carmen. Panelists Nicole Scherzinger and Ken Jeong correctly guessed the musician’s identity, but Robin Thicke and Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg were off the mark.

It took a village of 10 visual effects houses, including Weta FX and Framestore, and 3066 visual effects shots to help bring James Gunn’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” to life over 15 months of post-production.
From studying baby raccoons for the backstory of Rocket (voiced by Bradley Cooper) to golden retrievers for talking dog Cosmo, the VFX supervisors spent months putting together the sequences — some with explosions and complex action, including the film’s already iconic two-minute one-shot scene timed perfectly to the beats of the Beastie Boys’ “No Sleep Till Brooklyn.”
The teams break down the process behind some of their VFX magic and how they navigated some of the most challenging scenes.

It’s been a long and emotional road over the past decade for fans of the galaxy’s misfit heroes, but it sure seems like this journey has finally come to an end. Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3 hit theaters this past week and gave audiences another two-hour action-packed adventure ride that is being praised as arguably the best MCU movie since Endgame. The Guardians movies have always been beloved by MCU fans and critics alike and the third is no different, with director James Gunn deserving a standing ovation for his MCU encore.
However, despite the movie being Gunn’s last turn behind the camera for the MCU, and the added confirmation from the director that Volume 3 would be the Guardians last outing, the film itself left several loose-ends and countless possibilities for where the fan-favorite characters could return in the future. Spoiler Alert: This post contains spoilers for “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” now playing in theaters.
Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” was a huge undertaking for makeup head Alexei Dmitriew and hair department head Cassie Russek, who used over 22,500 prosthetics, 500 wigs and 130 facial hairpieces to create the movie’s galactic creatures. That number broke the world record for most prosthetics used in a film, previously held by “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”
From Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock to villain The High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji) to the new hybrid humanimals, the duo were tasked with creating original looks as the Guardians set out on their newest mission.
It took a village of 75 makeup artists on set to complete the looks — sometimes there would be 90. “We had two people per prosthetic so we could just keep the times down,” Dmitriew says. “On this, we used 22,542 prosthetics, 117 pairs of contact lenses,...

When Pom Klementieff joined the Guardians of the Galaxy squad as the emotionally intuitive Mantis for 2017's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," she was a little intimidated - the group was already established. Bonding came quickly though, starting with Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula. The duo tell Popsugar about one of the very first times they hung out outside of work - and it involved karaoke!
"We connected right away," Klementieff recounts of their bond, and Gillian says she was thrilled when she found out Klementieff had signed on, because they were a similar age. "I was so happy when she joined the cast because I was like, 'Right, someone who can do live karaoke with me,'" Gillan, 35, explains.
And then they almost immediately did sign up for live karaoke together - the type of karaoke where you perform alongside a full band for a crowded bar. Klementieff,...

It’s fitting that James Gunn’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” wraps up with Rocket’s origin story in the largest spaceship in MCU history: The Bowie, which debuted in “The Holiday Special.” According to the backstory, the massive, four-story craft was built by power tool expert Rocket (Bradley Cooper). “We always thought of it as the muscle car of spaceships,” production designer Beth Mickle told IndieWire.
In honor of Rocket, the Bowie ended up in the shape of a giant circular saw after initial sketches involved various power tool designs. The art department then built the Bowie’s interior as a series of interconnected sets (three stories high) with seven different areas on a 20,000-square-foot stage at Trilith Studios in Atlanta.
“We wanted the physical spaces to all be connected by these circular shapes, which we hadn’t seen much of before,” Mickle said. “And we staged...

This article contains minor spoilers for "The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3."
Actor Nathan Fillion, a widely beloved figure thanks to his appearances on the cult series "Firefly" and on the hit series "Castle," has played three different roles across James Gunn's "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies. In the 2014 original, Fillion played the voice of a character called Monstrous Inmate, a tough space-alien prison denizen that the Guardians fought. Fillion also filmed scenes for "Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2," but they were cut for the film's theatrical release. He was to play a human actor named Simon Williams.
In "Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3," Fillion finally appears on screen in a recognizable way, playing a character named Karja. Karja was one of the many elite security guards — called Orgosentries — who worked on the high-tech, organically grown medical space station called the Orgosphere. It was explained that the Orgosentries,...
