Those of you who are fans of the video game Half-Life 2 are going to enjoy this fan-made short film created by Nick Bertke. He basically brings the world of Half-Life 2 into our own world with the use of some mad digital mashup skills. He used his actual neighborhood as the setting and then added elements from the Half-Life 2 universe to it. The result is pretty radical, and it’s fun seeing these things interact with the real world.

About 4 years ago, music producer Pogo (Nick Bertke) became a viral sensation for remixing sound bites from Disney movies with rhythmic beats. His signature style was to take snippets of dialogue from classic movies that weren't whole words, thus creating a unique kind of lyrical gibberish. For their part, Disney has turned a blind eye instead of suing the pants off him. Bless. But after while, Pogo moved away from remixing the House of Mouse. Until today, his last Disney-inspired remix, "What I Likes" had been out for over a year. That drought ends now friends.

Nick Bertke, aka Pogo, is an Australian mashup artist who has a major beef with the American visa system. Back in 2011, the then-touring musician was banned from the Us for traveling without the proper work and travel visa. The punishment -- jail time, deportation and a 10-year sentence of prohibited travel to the Us -- is now keeping Mr. Bertke from pursuing his career as an artist in what he claims is "the last place on earth I wanted to be banned from."
The artist recently launched a campaign on YouTube, accompanied by a petition on WhiteHouse.gov outlining his plight. The video, which has been viewed nearly 1.2 million times by this morning, explains how the artist traveled to the Us several times under the Visa Waiver Program -- at one time participating in a Guggenheim exhibit -- but only encountered problems when he accidentally left and reentered Us territory two years ago.

We've covered electronic remixer Pogo many, many, many, many times, it's true. Known to his family and friends as Nick Bertke, and to YouTube users as Faggotron, the Australian DJ is a master chopper of audio, notably turning Disney movies and natural sound into ethereal music. If you can resist dream pop remixes of Disney movies, we tip our hat to your seriousness. For everyone else: new Pogo, y'all!
This time Pogo traveled to the land of live action, scrambling the already scrambled "Pulp Fiction" into a trigger-and-burger-heavy joint, "Lead Breakfast." Uma Thurman, John Travolta and Bruce Willis all show up, but the real star of this circus is Samuel L. Jackson. Check it below, and whatever you do, don't say "what"!

How does one make music out of "Monsters, Inc.," you wonder? The answer may come as a surprise — and most definitely as a delight.
"Boo Bass" is a light electronica ditty comprised of various sound bites from the animated Pixar classic, most of which are noises made by the film's young heroine, Boo (voiced by Mary Gibbs), and the excitable mini-monster, Mike (Billy Crystal) — with the occasional aside by good ol' Sulley (John Goodman).
It's strange little Internet miracles like this that make us wonder where the creators found their inspiration. Were they sitting around watching "Monsters, Inc." and suddenly thought, "Hey, let's make a song out of all this noise?" Whatever prompted the endeavor, the end result is a treat.
Check out "Boo Bass" below, featuring Nick Bertke's remix of music by Pogo and video editing by goldpikpikcarrots. Thanks to our pals at io9 for the find.

British electronic artist Pogo (Nick Bertke) puts remix artists to shame whenever he resurfaces. In his latest seamless production, "Kadinchey," Pogo remixed an entire culture, listening for the musicality in the language and habits of the Bhutanese people.
"Kadinchey" (which means "thank you" in Bhutanese) is a departure from Pogo's string of film and TV show remixes, including "Alice," cut from scenes in "Alice in Wonderland," and "Upular," based on "Up" and done in cooperation with Pixar ("Alice" was him going rogue).
This project took on a more grassroots form, launching earlier this year on Kickstarter with a mission to "Remix the World." Pogo's hope is to create an album with a video and song for each major culture in the world, citing films like "Baraka" and "Koyaanisqatsi" as inspirations. The world remix series will rely solely on you, the listener, for financing, rather than studios. "My world remix concept...

Steven Spielberg's 2001 film "A.I. Artificial Intelligence" imagines a future where life-like, sentient robots live among us, but as visionary as the film was, there's one future development he couldn't have predicted: The YouTube mashup.
Luckily for all of us, that's the future we are now living in -- and today, /Film and movie remix artist Nick Bertke have unveiled an audial and visual wonder featuring the sights and sounds of "A.I." itself. Talk about art imitating art imitating life.
Titled "Davyd," the new clip takes sound effects and snippets of dialogue from the film -- and their corresponding visual clips -- to piece together an ethereal soundscape. The centerpiece? Well, as you could probably guess from the title, it's Haley Joel Osment's Pinocchio-like robot David and his quest to become a real boy -- though you should also keep your eyes peeled for a glimpse of superstar Jude Law as well.

Movie remix artist Nick Bertke a.k.a. Pogo has created yet another music video mashup that I'm sure you'll enjoy. This time he's created one for director Steven Spielberg's A. I. Artificial Intelligence. The remix turned out to be great, and here's a note from the editor...
My remix of voices, chords and sound effects from Spielberg's 'AI: Artificial Intelligence'. Enjoy!
A.I. is a haunting, deeply moving science-fiction about David, a robot-boy "adopted" by a couple whose real son Martin lies hospitalised in a coma. The plot thickens when Martin recovers and deviously instigates David's abandonment, setting him on a vast adventure to find the fictitious Blue Fairy so he can wish for mortality and seek a new acceptance from his mother.
The film salutes the tale of Pinocchio without compromising originality, and unfolds with uncanny realism in a frighteningly plausible future. It challenges our distinction between man and machine,...

What do a tapping foot, sliding face and removable jaw have in common? They're three of the main elements Australian film/audio remix artist [1] Pogo uses for his latest work, Davyd, a music video inspired by and comprised of sounds and music from Steven Spielberg's adaptation of Stanley Kubrick's vision, A.I.: Artificial Intelligence. Check it out after the jump. Thanks to Laughing Squid [2] for the heads up. Here's Davyd. We've highlighted many of Pogo's [3], real name Nick Bertke, remixes in the past and they never disappoint. (Some highlights: Groundhog Day [4], Toy Story [5], Terminator 2 [6], etc.) He chooses interesting subjects, eclectic sounds and makes you look at an old movie in a whole new light. With Davyd, he makes the already creepy A.I. even weirder but also more beautiful. Here's the description from the YouTube [7] page: My remix of voices, chords and sound effects from Spielberg's 'AI: Artificial Intelligence'. Enjoy!
