Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was appalled — appalled! — to learn in 2008 that Sarah Palin, then-gop nominee John McCain’s running mate, once had ties to the Alaskan Independence Party.
In a HuffPost op-ed titled “Alaskan Independence Party: The Last Refuge of a Scoundrel,” Kennedy excoriated Palin for continuing to “‘pal around’ with a man — her husband, actually — who only recently terminated his seven-year membership” with Aip. (Recently was a bit of a stretch: Todd Palin ended his affiliation with the party six years before Kennedy’s editorial was published.)

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is attempting a political comeback by running for the Alaska Hosue seat recently vacated by the late Rep. Don Young, and unfortunately, she doesn’t seem to have the support of her former in-laws.
It was recently revealed that Jim and Faye Palin, the parents of Todd Palin, hosted an election-night party in support of her Republican opponent Nick Begich at their home for over 100 people. It wasn’t reported if Todd was at the party, but he certainly had an invite.
After polls closed in the special general election on Tuesday, Palin had a three-point lead on Begich. They were both slightly outperformed by Mary Peltola, a Democrat who so far has 38 of votes in the Alaska At-large District special general election, not enough to take a majority

Her family even got in on the fun too, as Todd Palin had a FaceTime chat with the Duck Commander team while he was out "snowmaching on a frozen river in Alaska training for the Iron Dog."
Check out the photos from their visit, which were posted to Palin's Facebook, below:...

Many people are fascinated with Google's latest product, Glass. Google Glass is an internet-connected headset, giving those who wear it access to a camera, web searches, Gps directions and more. Not everyone is ready to make that technological leap though, and one of those people is Sarah Palin.
A writer for The Verge was wearing Google Glass during Memorial Day, while attending the Indianapolis 500. The night before the race he was in a local hotel, when Sarah Palin showed up to meet and take photos with admirers. When the writer approached her, though, the mood changed. Palin wouldn't take a photo with the writer and denied his offer to wear the headset, which others had been doing all weekend.
"What's in it for us?" her husband Todd Palin asked before adding, "We don't know what company your with." When the writer explained he was a journalist and was simply...

Sarah Palin wants it known that she doesn't hold with frivolous functions like the White House Correspondents' Dinner. The former governor of Alaska took to Twitter and Facebook over the weekend to express her displeasure over the annual event.
Palin writes on Facebook, "Yuk it up media and pols. While America is buried in taxes and a fight for our (sic) rights, the permanent political class in DC dresses up and has a prom to make fun of themselves. No need for that, we get the real joke."
She adds on Twitter, "That #Whcd was pathetic. The rest of America is out there working our a**es off while these DC a**clowns throw themselves a #nerdprom."
First off -- since her beef seems to be with holding one now -- while America is out there working and fighting for its rights -- did she have a problem with holding...

Sadly, sometimes, the war at home can prove as deadly as the war abroad.
On Saturday, Feb. 2, former Navy Seal and author ("American Sniper") Chris Kyle was one of two people shot and killed at a gun range at the Rough Creek Lodge and Resort in Erath County, Texas, said U.S. Marshals.
After a brief chase that ended in Lancaster, south of Dallas -- with the suspect reportedly driving Kyle's truck -- officers arrested 25-year-old Eddie Ray Routh, described by Dallas-Forth Worth ABC affiliate Wfaa (Channel 8) as a "former Marine who is said to suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome."
The identity of the second victim has not yet been released.
According to the website of Sofrep (Special Operations Forces Situation Report), Kyle was volunteering to help veterans with Ptsd (post-traumatic stress disorder), and taking the veterans to the gun range was part of the process he used.

Going into Monday's two-part finale for "Stars Earn Stripes" (Mon., 9 p.m. Et on NBC), there were two men and two women left out of the eight that started in the military reality competition series. By the end of the night, only one would remain standing, and it was someone who was familiar with holding championship titles.
Todd Palin was knocked out in the first hour, leaving Dean Cain to battle two female competitors for the top prize: gold medal winner Picabo Street and two-time WWE Divas Champion Eva Torres. Perhaps it was their experience with competition and victory, but Cain fell to both women.
In the end, it was Torres who won the top prize for the Uso; her charity of choice. For winning, she eared an additional $100,000 for the charity, in addition to her earnings throughout the competition.
Ratings dipped to just above 3 million viewers for last week's penultimate installment.

'Stars Earn Stripes' Todd Palin: 'Our minds think we're 20, but our bodies remind us that we're not'
Zap2it: Did your son, Army Sgt. Track Palin (who deployed to Afghanistan earlier this year) or your wife, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, influence you to participate in a show ("Stars Earn Stripes") that pairs celebrities with military operatives and first responders on simulated missions?
Todd Palin: No. 1 would be the cause, the military charity. Track was major, Sarah was major, and then my working experience on "Sarah Palin's Alaska," knowing (producer] Mark Burnett puts out a great product.
Zap2it: Did you bond with your military operative partner?
Todd Palin: My guy was [former Marine] J.W. Cortes. Our common ground is he has a son with autism, and I've got a son with Down syndrome. Just being a father, you have a bond. With the additional challenge, there's that extra bond. I'm a little older than he is, and I'm like, "We are blessed. There's a reason why...

Update, 5:17 Pm Thursday: Sarah Palin’s comments on Facebook about her Republican Convention speech being canceled may be part of an elaborate negotiating tactic, according to New York magazine. Palin’s contract is supposedly up in January, and Fox News is considering what kind of new deal they will sign, if they decide to keep Palin at all. At roughly $1 million a year, Palin is Fox’s highest-paid contributor, the magazine said. Additionally Fox execs have been underwhelmed by Palin’s ratings. And Palin hasn’t been happy when Fox hasn’t given her top billing. Sources cited by New York say things have been so touchy that all communications have been through her husband Todd Palin, currently one of the contestants on NBC’s reality series Stars Earn Stripes. Additionally, Palin’s Facebook commentary likely did not endear her to Fox News chief Roger Ailes, who values discipline and loyalty.

Todd Palin may have appeared on reality television before - on "Sarah Palin's Alaska" - but this summer's "Stars Earn Stripes" has shown a new side of the Alaskan to America, as well as his castmates like Dean Cain.

After 13 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, J.W. Cortes now works as an officer for the New York Mta (Metropolitan Transit Authority) Police Department. For a short time earlier this summer, he headed to California to participate in filming for the NBC Monday-night reality series "Stars Earn Stripes," which has its first-season finale next week.
The show partners celebrities with "operatives" -- who feature a mix of military and law-enforcement experience -- competing on simulated military-training missions to earn money for charities supporting both service personnel and first responders.
Cortes is paired with Todd Palin, four-time Iron Dog Snowmobile Race champion, outdoorsman and husband of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who was the 2008 Gop vice-presidential candidate and currently works as a Fox News contributor.
But on this particular Monday (Aug. 27) morning, a regular day on the job in Gotham for Cortes turned into a celebrity encounter -- for Cortes,...
