- (2015 - 2022) Susan is the founder of WanderWord is an artist-collective that creates site-specific interactive, poetry programming at Wilco's Solid Sound Music Festival, MASS MoCA. Some of the poetry events include large scale magnetic poetry, audio-poetry map, poetry typists, poetry clothesline, and poetry dominoes.
- (1989 - 2016) In the roles of producer, actor, and script developer, she has collaborated with several theatre companies including the Collapsable Giraffe and various East Village productions. One summer, she was hauled around in the back of a pick-up truck as a street theatre performer for Theatre for the New City. Another summer, she performed the Bacchae in Central Park in a ginormous mask that built up her neck muscles.
- (2001) Susan has also hosted, co-curated, and/or recorded many poetry readings, including the series, The World's Oldest Ship, hosted by Susan, Pete's Candy Shop, hosted by Joelle Hann, and Pete's Big Salmon, hosted by Jen Knox and Ada Limon. - (2012) With puppets, actors, a musician, lots of gold paint, and an upside-down old bicycle morphed into a spinning clock, her poem, The Astronomical Clock, came to life on stage at a puppet festival, Starr Bar, NYC.
- (2004, 2008, 2012, 2014) She has developed and presented panels at AWP and Split This Rock Poetry Festival.
- (2024) Her children's book, An Island of Cherished Things, about plastic waste and magical toys is forthcoming from Rattapallax Press.
- (1994) Neon Crow Theatre Lab, Susan Brennan, with Toni Presti, produced, directed, and performed The Dread Road as a staged and recorded radio drama based on text by Meridel LeSueur. The radio drama was featured on WBAI, won a National Federation of Broadcast Silver Reel Award and is available at the New York Public Library Performance Arts Research Center.
- (1998 - 2000) As an intern at the Wooster Group, she organized archival materials, cleaned out the post-porn Selwyn Theater, NYC, and witnessed many irreverent rehearsals and profound performances.
