Jared Leto was asked what the weirdest thing a fan has ever sent him, and he had a heck of an answer – an ear. A fan “cut their ear off once and sent it to me… A whole ear. The Van Gogh move.” If you think that's weird, it's nothing compared to the fact that Leto poked a hole in it and wore it as a necklace.
GLAAD has announced that they are officially changing their name – sort of. GLAAD will simply be known as "GLAAD," dropping the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation expansion as part of their affirmation towards advocating more for the rights of transgender person and bisexuals.
The Croods had a better box office than expected with $44 million, as did Olympus Has Fallen with $30.5 million.

John Barrowman is everywhere these days. And that's not a bad thing at all!
One thing that goes through your head when you’re sitting down to chat with John Barrowman: “Captain Jack is even better looking in person.” You also can’t help but notice that this is a guy who is not only extremely comfortable in his own skin but also likes to have a good time by laughing and making those around him laugh.
Case in point, his recent stint guest-hosting Attack of the Show, the weekday show on G4 that explores and makes fun of everything on the web. Whether he was doing a Tom Cruise/Risky Business spoof sans pants or hyping AfterElton’s Ultimate Slash Madness Tourney, Barrowman was relaxed, fun with just the precise amount of snark. A distant third was the best a new film could muster, with Spy Kids 4 raking in $12 million, followed by Conan the Barbarian in fourth at $10 million, then Fright Night at a sad $8.3 million. Maybe it's time for an original idea, Hollywood?
Towleroad has a fantastic picture of Gwen Stefani's son Zuma wearing a Captain America costume while having his toenails painted. Stefani's eldest, Kingston, is quite the little fashion plate himself, accessorizing without regard to gender norms.

Torchwood: Miracle Day actor John Barrowman has said that he is no longer a "party animal". Barrowman, who plays Captain Jack Harkness in the series, revealed that he and partner Scott Gill are more content to relax at home than go to a trendy nightclub. "I can't handle clubs and wild nights out like I did in my 20s. I'm lively when I perform and I always put everything into a show but when I get home I love lying down in front of the TV and relaxing," Barrowman told The Mirror. The Scottish-born actor added: "I'm not quite the party animal people imagine. I'm certainly not a big fan of nightclubs. But that doesn't (more)...

John Barrowman gets sent women's knickers and "seriously raunchy" photos in the post. The 'Torchwood' star - who is married to partner Scott Gill - explained even though he is openly gay, women still send him naked pictures in the mail. He said: "Sometimes I get sent knickers and occasionally I get requests to send some of my own underwear back. I always politely decline. It's not going to happen. "I get sent some seriously raunchy photographs too. They really don't hold back, some of these women. The photographs are filthy but they're not really my thing to be honest. All I'll say...

J.Lo's ex (the first one) Ojani Noa is currently finalizing a deal to pose for Playgirl. The sticking point in the negotiations isn't "if" he'll do full frontal, but if they'll pay him enough for full frontal. Just what does full frontal go for these days?
FX has renewed Louie, Wilfred, and given a double order to It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I'm just hoping that Wilfred can stay delightfully twisted for an extended run. How long can Elijah dog sit and get high before he's living in Wilfred's dog house after foreclosure?

When I first heard they were going to make a Celebrity Wife Swap, I couldn't imagine what kind of celebrity would do something like that. Now I know: Dee Snider and Flavor Flav. Makes perfect sense.

Torchwood returns to the small screen this week and John Barrowman is back saving the world as Captain Jack Harkness.
At the end of the third series, the Torchwood organisation had been destroyed, leaving then-pregnant Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles) to go into hiding and Captain Jack appearing to abandon Earth for good.
"Jack couldn't handle all the death and loss, so he zapped himself up into space and disappeared," explains the actor. "When we return in the present day, he's hiding out in Washington DC, keeping an eye on Gwen to see she's all right. Things start to unravel, and Jack has to step in to protect her."
The opening episode of Torchwood: Miracle Day sees Jack and Gwen shoot up Rhossili beach in South Wales.
"We were chased by black stealth helicopters and shooting real guns. Before, we would have had to CGI the gun flashes while we shot blank bullets,...

When I walk onto the Los Angeles set of Torchwood: Miracle Day, John Barrowman is in full performance mode, but the cameras aren’t rolling. Everyone’s waiting for the next scene to be ready, so in the meantime, Barrowman is entertaining the crew and his fellow cast members with an elaborate anecdote that involved two perfectly-executed pratfalls and a dead-on impersonation of Carol Channing.
With that kind of showman’s instinct, it’s no surprise that Barrowman, 44, has become an international sensation for his starring role as Torchwood’s Captain Jack Harkness, a bisexual, immortal con man who spends his days chasing down aliens and other bizarre phenomena. But even when he’s not topping the bill on the hit BBC series, which has traveled Stateside for its new season, co-produced by the Starz network, the Scottish-born, Illinois-raised Barrowman keeps his fanbase busy with multiple projects in his adopted...

To Full Frontal Or To Not Full Frontal
When I saw the first headline trumpeting news about Justin Long's inadvertent full frontal nude scene in his upcoming movie Going the Distance, I knew how the story would end before I even started it: namely, that particular scene would not end up in the movie. Americans as a whole are still supposedly way too squeamish to actually be confronted with a guy's junk onscreen, especially in a romantic comedy like Going the Distance.
Justin Long
Which doesn't make sense given that Nanette Burstein, Gtd's director, was supposedly so taken with Christina Applegate's shocked reaction to Justin's junk that she filmed the scene that way ten more times before eventually deciding not to use it. Or someone decided she shouldn't use it. Btw, imagine if this were a gay director who did that. Tongues would be wagging even though...

Plus Elisabeth Hasselbeck tries to have it both ways, Kevin Jennings speaks up, and you can go "At Home with John Barrowman."
I want to be the guy who applies the blood.
The True Blood trio graces the cover of this week's Rolling Stone. While most quotes have been about Stephen Moyer's naughty discussion of penetration ... of fangs, I think creator Alan Ball is much more interesting: To me, vampires are sex. I don't get a vampire story about abstinence. I'm 53. I don't care about high school students. I find them irritating and uninformed. Blastr.com decided to write 20 Gay Characters We Love from Sci-Fi Movies and TV, which we've done before. But my biggest amusement was the slap they took at parent company SyFy over Eureka's Vincent, the only gay in the village. Vincent is Eureka's friendly chef and owner of the fabulous Café Diem. When he's not in his restaurant,...

Our members might be predominantly gay and bisexual men, but we do have a surprising number of female readers here at AfterElton.com. We value you ladies and feel bad that every year we have to ask you to sit out the Hot 100 voting (for that list we wanted a fair representation of whom gay and bi men find attractive).
To try and make up for it, every year we run a special poll exclusively our female readers, in which we ask them which gay/bi men they find hot.
This year over 12,000 votes were cast for over 600 different nominees. The top fifty appear here.
Without further ado... The 2010 Ladies' Choice Hot 50!
1. Adam Lambert

Have a question about gay male entertainment? Ask the Monkey! (Please include your city and state and/or country.)
Q: Are there any movies aimed at younger audiences that portray romance between gay couples? There are actually a lot of parents like myself who want to show their kids a movie with two people of the same sex falling in love in the fun way they show other kids’ movies. -- Marcy, Tacoma, Wa
A: Have you considered Another Gay Sequel: Gays Gone Wild!?
That’s a joke. Seriously. Gays Gone Wild is the raunchiest gay movie I’ve ever seen, and not in a good way.
"This might have been a mistake."
Anyway, I actually love this question. Nothing makes me quite as annoyed as the idea that “gay” is synonymous with “sex” while “heterosexual” is not.
In fact, I love this question so much that I wish I had a better answer.

After triumphing for two years in a row, Jake Gyllenhaal is not the winner of our third annual AfterElton.com Hot 100 poll (see the results for 2007 here and 2008 here). So which out man did take the top spot? If you’re the kind of person who always burns their mouth biting into that piping hot chocolate chip cookie, you can just cheat and go here to learn who came in first place.
Here at AfterElton.com, we’re thrilled to announce an out gay man topped this year’s list – especially this particular man as most of us voted for him as well. In fact, out gay men snagged nearly 20% of the spots, including the top three. To be sure, we’ve nothing against our straight male crushes, but it says something great about 2009 that there are so many out men to choose from.
What we find almost as interesting...

Gay British actor John Barrowman is ready for a child with long-term partner Scott Gill - and feels he will make a great father.
The Torchwood star, 42, has been with 41-year-old Gill for 15 years, and the couple is building a new home in Cardiff, Wales big enough to cater for a large brood.
He says, "We're going to have six bedrooms in it and we feel like we've got a lot to offer. A family unit is what you make a family unit.
"I have got broody over the last year or so and I think it's partially because I'm doing the show Tonight's The Night, where I am getting involved with a lot of families.
"I'm a big family man and I have this feeling I would be a good dad. I am ready for it."
Barrowman shot to fame with his role as Captain Jack Harkness in cult British sci-fi show Dr Who, which earned him the lead role in spin-off series Torchwood. He has also appeared in a host of London stage shows.
