“And I would have gotten away with it too if it weren’t for you meddling kids.” This is undoubtedly one of the most famous lines in the history of animated television and practically everyone will recognize it as the most famous phrase from the Scooby-Doo series. The phrase usually signified the end of a case when Scooby and the gang would explain the solution and prove that the guy they caught in the costume red-handed did it. The villain would then utter these words, cursing his ill-fated encounter with Mystery Inc., without which his plan would have succeeded, as it was otherwise perfect.
While the Scooby-Doo series is primarily an animated work, there have been live-action and CGI adaptations of the series as well. And while the CGI Scoob! movie was better received than the live-action movies, no adaptation has managed to come even close to the charm of the original animated series,...

A classic Warner Bros. IP is headed to Netflix with a reimagining from one of the studio’s top TV producers. In a competitive situation with multiple bidders, the streamer has landed Scooby-Doo! The Live-Action Series, from Greg Berlanti’s Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, where the company is based, sources tell Deadline.
Written by Josh Appelbaum & Scott Rosenberg (Cowboy Bebop) based on characters created by Hanna-Barbera, Scooby-Doo! is a live-action update of the popular cartoon.
In a tough TV marketplace, the drama project garnered interest from top buyers, ending up at Netflix with a premium, script-to-series commitment, sources said. Reps for Netflix and Wbtv declined comment.

Greg Berlanti and Netflix are going for a ride in the Mystery Machine.
The streaming giant is near a deal for a live-action TV series based on the beloved Hanna-Barbera animated cartoon Scooby-Doo. The project has a script-to-series commitment at Netflix, meaning if the script is well received, it would trigger a straight-to-series order for what is considered a live-action update of the classic cartoon.
Reps for Netflix, producers Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions declined to comment, as a deal has not yet formally closed.
Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg — who previously adapted Cowboy Bebop for Netflix and High Fidelity for Hulu — are attached to pen the script and exec produce via their Midnight Radio banner’s André Nemec and Jeff Pinkner. A couple months ago, we heard that season 2 of the series From would begin airing on MGM+ (formerly known as Epix) on April 23rd. Now a trailer for the new season has arrived online, and you can check it out in the embed above.
I haven’t watched the first season of From – our own Alex Maidy has, and said “From definitely is worthy of a multi-season run” (you can read his 7/10 review Here) – so I was surprised to see just how creepy the trailer for season 2 is. A quote in the trailer even confirms the show has creeped out the great Stephen King… so I’m definitely going to have to start watching this series.

Exclusive: The Oa: Part II’s Kingsley Ben-Adir has booked a recurring guest star role on High Fidelity, the reimagining of Nick Hornby’s 1995 novel and the 2000 feature starring John Cusack. The series, which recently moved from Disney+ to fellow streaming platform Hulu, is told from a female point of view with Zoë Kravitz starring as Rob, the ultimate music fan and a record store owner who’s obsessed with pop culture and Top Five lists.
Ben-Adir will play Russell “Mac” McCormack. He’s charming, worldly, intelligent — though not at all pretentious — and was Rob’s most serious boyfriend. Everything seemed to be great, then one day he moved to London, and a year later Rob is still getting over it. But Mac may not be gone from her life for good.
Recent additions to the cast also include Da’Vine Joy Randolph, David Holmes and Jake Lacy who are set as series regulars.

Disney’s series adaptation of “High Fidelity” is on the move. The series, starring Zoe Kravitz, will now air on Hulu instead of Disney+.
In the 2000 film, John Cusack played a record store owner and list-maker, who recounts his Top 5 breakups, one of which was in progress at the time. Kravitz’s character is described as “the ultimate music fan, a record store owner who’s obsessed with pop culture and Top Five lists.”
