We had brought you a glimpse of the making of Jang Hoon’s eagerly awaited period drama A Taxi Driver some time back. Now here’s the first official trailer of the film starring Song Kang-ho in the title role.
Based on a true story, the film features Man-seob, a down-on-his-luck taxi driver from Seoul, who gets involved in a life-or-death struggle after he agrees to drive a German journalist reporting on the events of the Gwangju Democratization Movement of 1980. Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron) plays the journalist character based on Jürgen Hinzpeter, the real-life German reporter who became internationally famous for filming the military’s brutal crackdown of the pro-democracy movement in Gwangju.
