The Ralph Lauren Fall/Holiday 2024 Collection fashion show was attended by so many stars!
Jessica Chastain, Glenn Close, and Jodie Turner-Smith were just some of the celebs who stepped out for the intimate event on Monday night (April 29) in New York City.
The designer presented the collection in his private design studio and then everyone celebrated at the iconic Polo Bar after the show.
“The woman I design for has a beauty that comes from an inner confidence,” Ralph Lauren said in a statement. “She dresses for herself. Her style is personal and bold. She’ll throw a hand-tailored jacket over a glamorous evening dress. She believes in quiet sophistication not defined by time or trends. My Fall/Holiday 2024 Collection is inspired by that woman, her sense of timelessness, her individuality — a style that is forever.”

The Alicia Keys musical Hell’s Kitchen and new play Stereophonic, about a fictional band in the 1970s, led the Tony nominations with 13 nominations each.
The Outsiders, a musical based on the 1967 S.E. Hinton book, followed with 12 nominations and the revival of Cabaret, starring Eddie Redmayne and Gayle Rankin, followed with nine nods.
With its 13 noms, Stereophonic set a record for the most Tony nominations for a play, surpassing previous record holder Slave Play’s 12 noms in 2020.
Stereophonic‘s surprisingly strong performance even included a best score nomination despite it being a play.
In the best musical category, Hell’s Kitchen and The Outsiders were nominated, alongside the dance-based show Illionise, with music from Sufjan Stevens’ album and a book by Justin Peck and Jackie Sibblies Drury; Suffs, a musical about the women’s suffrage movement with a score and book by Shaina Taub; and Water for Elephants, based on the 2006 novel,...

The Olitz spark between "Scandal"'s Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn is still going strong years after their TV reign. The duo's recent reunion for Washington's "Thicker Than Water" book tour, which kicked off in September, reminded Olivia Pope and Fitzgerald Grant fans everywhere that these haven't lost their magic one bit. In fact, their undeniable chemistry is just as convincing as it was during "Scandal"'s heyday. So much so that some fans have completely forgotten that the former costars are, indeed, married in real life (and not to each other).
Goldwyn has been with his wife, Jane Musky, since 1987, and they share two daughters. Washington, a mom of three young kids, meanwhile, tied the knot with NFL player-turned-actor Nnamdi Asomugha in 2013. So despite fan speculation, Washington and Goldwyn are just friends.

By now, you’ve probably heard about the major plot point in Kerry Washington’s new memoir. If not: In 2018, her parents told her that her father is not her biological father; she is the result of her parents’ use of a sperm donor.
It’s the inciting incident for Thicker Than Water, and also for a new chapter of the actress’ life — one that she is still getting used to talking about. Washington doesn’t often name this family secret specifically in conversation, referring to it throughout a long interview as the “information” or “revelation” — it feels less like an aversion and more like a byproduct of the business of protecting a highly anticipated book. (If anyone knows how to gracefully avoid spoilers, it’s the woman who played Olivia Pope.) But Washington, who sat with THR over crudité in West Hollywood a couple weeks ahead of the book’s release,...

A highlight of the first weekend of the 80th Venice International Film Festival was seeing Giorgio Armani appear on the catwalk, visibly excited, moved, smiling and proudly satisfied with his work. He then advanced graceful and happy, in his impeccable blue tuxedo holding hands with the model Agnese Zogla.
The moment was experienced by the more than 500 guests at Armani’s One Night Only event, where the world of cinema flocked to pay homage to King Giorgio, with guests including Sophia Loren, who has always been his beloved friend, accompanied by her son Edoardo Ponti, actor Benicio Del Toro, actress Jessica Chastain, and directors Ang Lee, Gabriele Salvatores and Giuseppe Tornatore.
The standing ovation lasted several minutes from an audience composed of numerous couples from the Italian film star system: from Sergio Castellitto and Margaret Mazzantini and Pierfrancesco Favino and Anna Ferzetti to Raul Bova and Rocio Munoz Morales to Kasia Smutniak and Domenico Procacci.

Speaking on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’, she said: “I don’t know what time I left. I was nursing at the time and I remember I brought my pump with me just in case. "Based on a true story." No five words in cinema have been abused more than those that have opened so many movies. "The Good Nurse" is one of them. Netflix's latest true crime drama is based on the 2013 book by Charles Graeber and documents Charles Cullen, a nurse who murdered patients from 1988 to 2003 by injecting insulin and/or digoxin into IV bags.
Eddie Redmayne plays Cullen in the film, but he's not the lead. That would be his friend and co-worker, Amy Louhgren (Jessica Chastain). She has a good heart, albeit one afflicted with cardiomyopathy, and so comes to rely on "Charlie" during their shared night shifts. After one of their patients dies, though, she slowly discovers his crimes.
So, how true of a story is "The Good Nurse"? While "true story" movies often employ composite characters, Amy Louhgren was the real nurse who helped catch Cullen. The film's personal details of Amy,...

Warning: The following article contains major spoilers for the Netflix film "The Good Nurse."
Any show or film "based on a true story" is guaranteed to have a built-in creep factor. In the case of "The Good Nurse," the story rips pages from Charles Graeber's 2013 book " The Good Nurse: A True Story of Medicine, Madness, and Murder," which details how real-life serial killer Charles "Charlie" Cullen murdered dozens (possibly hundreds) of people. The film, co-starring Eddie Redmayne as Cullen and Jessica Chastain as the eponymous good nurse Amy Loughren, is the latest in a long string of serial killer adaptations to hit Netflix, for better or worse.
While the film itself falls a little flat, there is plenty to admire about both Chastain's and Redmayne's performances. Redmayne, in particular, makes a disturbing turn as the deadly nurse, who insidiously wields his power to kill people under the guise of simply doing his job.

The Good Nurse director Tobias Lindholm and producer Scott Franklin joined Deadline’s Contenders Film: New York awards-season event to talk about their Netflix pic and especially the film’s two Oscar-winning stars: Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne.
Based on Charles Graeber’s crime thriller book The Good Nurse: A True Story of Medicine, Madness, and Murder and adapted by Krysty Wilson-Cairns (1917), the film centers on Amy Loughren (Chastain), a nurse who starts to believe that her colleague Charlie Cullen (Redmayne) is responsible for a series of mysterious patient deaths. She risks her own life to uncover the truth.
Noah Emmerich, Nnamdi Asomugha and Kim Dickens also star.

Nurse Amy Loughren is shocked when Charlie Cullen, one of her colleagues, is found responsible for the murder of dozens of patients over a period of sixteen years, across two states and nine hospitals, without being charged.
There’s a certain atmosphere present in Tobias Lindholm‘s The Good Nurse that will leave you feeling deeply disturbed and uncomfortable throughout every single minute of its over two-hour running time. Lindholm and screenwriter Krysty Wilson-Cairns have crafted a film that feels so sickening to the point where you can barely stomach it. It’s made even more freaky when you consider the fact that it’s all based on a true story.
The Good Nurse is the definition of a slow-burning crime drama that will leave you guessing at nearly every turn.

So for Halloween weekend, what’s an excellent setting for some creepy cinema chills? Sure, big creaky dark mansions are usually the “go-to” locale, and if they’re next to, or even attached to, a crumbling cemetery, well they fit the bill…in many flicks. But what about a public place, not the museums (as in the Night series), or a shopping mall (as in the original classic Dawn Of The Dead)? In this fright film, the main action occurs in a hospital. And unlike the second in the series, Halloween II, the shocks are more than doubled because this new one is a true story (or the “inspired by true events” genre). Oh, but this location is dedicated to healing and helping, right? And that’s the really frightening aspect. But the whole thing is not overly exploitive thanks to the Oscar-winning duo who portray a pair of healthcare workers.

A movie with a title like “The Good Nurse” has a lot to live up to, for one: that nurse better be good. Lucky for “The Good Nurse” and its audience, Jessica Chastain shines in a post-Oscar nail-biter as an Rn investigating a string of mysterious deaths at her hospital, possibly caused by her new co-worker.
Tobias Lindholm’s “The Good Nurse” is based on a book of the same title about the serial killer Charles Cullen, an ICU nurse who would give his patients lethal doses of insulin or digoxin while they were hospitalized. Based on the real-life story of a nurse who apparently killed hundreds of patients, this is a creepily watchable thriller with the subtlest hint of Fatal Attraction
Screenwriter Krysty Wilson-Cairns has crafted a nifty procedural thriller based on the true-crime case of Charles Cullen, the New Jersey nurse who in 2003 was finally arrested after apparently killing hundreds of patients over the years by covertly administering lethal, intravenous overdoses. The director is Tobias Lindholm, the film-maker and writer who has also worked with Thomas Vinterberg on The Hunt and Another Round; Eddie Redmayne is the insidiously personable and caring Cullen, and Jessica Chastain plays his co-worker, an overworked fellow nurse called Amy Loughren – a real-life figure who really did befriend Cullen, suspect the worst and work with the police to get him caught.

Actress Kerry Washington is dedicated to keeping her children out of the spotlight. She and husband Nnamdi Asomugha refrain from publicly sharing any photos of their children, instead choosing to shield them from the limelight to allow them to grow up under as normal of circumstances as possible. The "School For Good and Evil" star has opened up about her children in interviews from time to time, though, and allowed us a glimpse of what it's like growing up in her household.
Washington and Asomugha's oldest child, Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha, was born on April 21, 2014. Their second child, Caleb Kelechi Asomugha, was born on Oct. 5, 2016. A private screening of “The Good Nurse” was held at the Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles on Friday, October 14 with stars Eddie Redmayne, Jessica Chastain and Nnamdi Asomugha as well as director Tobias Lindholm, writer Krysty Wilson-Cairns and one of the film’s subjects, Amy Loughren. The event was presented by Oscar nominee Andrew Garfield and included a Q&a panel discussion following the Netflix film.
“I wasn’t aware [of the story],” Chastain admitted. “I live in New York and this happened in New Jersey. I was shocked when I read the screenplay and figured a lot of it had to have been made up. It felt too strange to be real, and surprising that the most prolific serial killer in the history of the United States, I didn’t know anything about. He killed probably around 400 people. It was wonderful to do the research, to meet Amy and it was very inspiring to work on.

Plot: Amy (Jessica Chastain), a compassionate nurse, discovers that her co-worker and friend, Charlie (Eddie Redmayne), may be responsible for the death of a patient. Little does she know; the truth runs deeper.
Review: The Good Nurse is one of Netflix’s big October releases, and it’s fitting that the streamer would release this in time for Halloween as, despite not being a horror movie in the traditional sense, it’s pretty damn terrifying. For those not in the know, the film is based on the exploits of Charlie Cullen, a notorious serial killer responsible for the deaths of at least forty people, but, ultimately, the number might be closer to 400. If this number is anywhere near accurate, he may be the most prolific serial killer in history.
What makes The Good Nurse especially terrifying is that the fact-based drama makes it clear that the medical establishment could have...

Amy Loughren is a good nurse — she must be, since that's the title of "The Good Nurse," Tobias Lindholm's disappointingly flat serial killer drama. Based on a true story and featuring a script by "1917" scribe Krysty Wilson-Cairns, "The Good Nurse" follows Amy (Jessica Chastain) as she comes to the horrific realization that one of her co-workers and friends is murdering patients.
When we first meet Amy, Lindholm and Wilson-Cairns make it clear that she goes above and beyond for her patients. This isn't just some job for her — she really cares, and wants to do everything she can to make the sick people at her hospital feel better. But Amy has medical problems of her own — she's diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, and advised to go on sick leave, because if she exerts herself too much she could die. But it's not that simple — Amy hasn't been at her current hospital...

In the fall of 2003, a new nurse arrived at a quiet hospital in the middle of New Jersey. He was mild-mannered and affable, with an impressive resume of former gigs. His name was Charles Cullen. Call him Charlie. He quickly became friends with fellow nurse Amy Loughren, who was also good at her job and kind to those who came into her orbit. Both were hiding secrets: Amy had recently learned she had a disease that required a heart transplant, one she could not afford until she had finished up six months at her new-ish gig at the hospital; Charlie was a serial killer.
What happened when Amy met Charlie, and then discovered his horrifying secret and helped bring him to justice, is well-dramatized in Tobias Lindholm’s “The Good Nurse.” Based on Charles Graeber’s book “The Good Nurse: A True Story of Medicine, Madness, and Murder” and exactingly adapted by “1917” screenwriter Krysty Wilson-Cairns,...

First a little warning. I had the good fortune to see The Good Nurse knowing absolutely nothing about it except it was a Netflix movie starring Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne. I had no idea which one was even “the good nurse” of the title, and I was not familiar with the book it is based on, or even the fact it is actually a true story. For all I knew it was like a female version of Freddie Highmore in The Good Doctor. Netflix set up a screening for me at a local screening room. I sat by myself for two hours stunned by what I was seeing slowly take place, a turn of events I did not see coming as I realized I had the same experience in some ways as a viewer as Chastain’s character, Amy Loughren, had in real life.

During a career of 16 years that spanned numerous East Coast hospitals since the late ‘80s, real-life nurse Charles Cullen confessed to murdering at least 29 patients with a fatal cocktail of drugs he dripped into his victims’ bloodstream. That figure was only his confirmed body count, however. As a title card suggests at the end of Tobias Lindholm’s shrewd and absorbing drama “The Good Nurse” — a Netflix original that just premiered at Toronto — the real number of his victims was predicted to be as high as a blood-curdling 400.
Hopping from one job to the next, the serial killer went undetected by the authorities, with his connection to the unusual deaths remaining as an open-secret suspicion at every facility he worked at. In order to avoid legal ramifications, none of the hospitals reported him — they just made him someone else’s problem, as the story of any corrupt institution goes.

According to director Tobias Lindholm, “The Good Nurse” has no intention of being a typical true crime film. “We realized that it wasn’t a story only about a serial killer, it was about a friendship. And it was a proof of humanity,” Lindholm said while visiting TheWrap and Shutterstock’s Interview and Portrait Studio at the Toronto Film Festival for a conversation moderated by TheWrap’s Executive Editor, Awards, Steve Pond.

"He's been killing people - without even touching them." Netflix has revealed the first official trailer for a mystery thriller titled The Good Nurse, from Danish filmmaker Tobias Lindholm. It's premiering at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival first this month, then will be streaming in October on Netflix. A gripping thriller based on true events (which is especially scary), The Good Nurse is directed by Academy Award nominee Tobias Lindholm (for Another Round), written by Academy Award nominee Krysty Wilson-Cairns, and stars Academy Award winners Jessica Chastain as Amy Loughren and Eddie Redmayne as Charles Cullen, as well as Nnamdi Asomugha, Noah Emmerich, Malik Yoba, Alix West Lefler, and Kim Dickens. What's going on? An infamous caregiver is implicated in the deaths of hundreds of hospital patients. What is the truth? What's really going on, why is he doing this? This looks especially eerie and unsettling, with such a dark performance by Redmayne.

Netflix has a knack for getting a lot of very talented people together in movies that seemingly just wouldn't get made at a traditional studio anymore. Case in point, "The Good Nurse" is a movie that features two Oscar winners in the form of Jessica Chastain ("It Chapter Two") and Eddie Redmayne ("The Theory of Everything") front-and-center in a thriller that is based on true events.
As the title implies, they are nurses working at a hospital but, as it turns out, only one of them is good and the other might actually be very bad. For a movie with such a seemingly innocuous title, the body count certainly stacks up in a hurry here. Let's take a gander, shall we?
The Good Nurse Trailer Is Full Of Murder And Intrigue
Things don't take long to get a little twisted as Chastain's character Amy meets up with Redmayne's Charlie at a coffee shop.
