SundanceTV has lined up two unique ways to launch “State of the Union,” its 10-minute series starring Rosamund Pike and Chris O’Dowd.
Given its short-form nature, the 10-episode relationship series posed a unique scheduling challenge for the channel. But here’s how the show will unroll: Starting Monday, May 6, and running through Friday, May 17, SundanceTV will air one 10-minute episode at 10 p.m. each weeknight.
Because of symmetry of running a 10-minute show at 10 p.m. for 10 days, SundanceTV is dubbing the showcase “10@10.”
Meanwhile, for viewers who would prefer to binge the show faster, Sundance Now, SundanceTV.com and the SundanceTV app will upload two 10-minute episodes each day at 5 p.m. between May 6 and May 10. The network is dubbing it a “Digital Happy Hour,” and is aiming at a commuter audience.

AMC Networks has solidified the senior programming team for AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios under the direction of president David Madden.
Madden joined AMC Networks late last year after a long run at Fox. With the expanded responsibilities for Ben Davis, Susie Fitzgerald, Eliot Goldberg, and Kristin Jones, Madden has cemented his top core executive team overseeing programming for the studio arm, scripted, unscripted, and international co-productions, respectively.
“What this announcement signifies is their melding together into an exceptional senior leadership team, one that has already helped establish AMC as one of the strongest brands in television,” Madden said. “They have found, developed, and nurtured the shows that define our network and entertain and captivate millions of viewers. In these new and elevated roles, this impressive quartet will drive our continued success across AMC, SundanceTV, and a growing AMC Studios business.”

Nine months after David Madden joined AMC Networks as president of programming for AMC, SundanceTV and AMC Studios, he is solidifying his top programming team that includes Susie Fitzgerald, who has re-upped her contract, and Ben Davis, Eliot Goldberg and Kristin Jones, who have been promoted. All four report to Madden.
As his title suggests, in addition to overseeing programming for AMC and SundanceTV, Madden, former longtime topper of Fox TV Studios, was given a mandate to build up AMC Studios into a major supplier of programming for the AMC networks and outside buyers.
As part of that effort, Ben Davis, Svp of programming for AMC and SundanceTV, is being promoted to a new role as Evp of programming for AMC Studios. As the first dedicated programming executive at the eight-year-old studio operation, he will oversee development for AMC and SundanceTV as well as other networks and platforms as the...

The adaptation of John le Carré’s spy novel is building up quite a cast, and it looks like Tom Hiddleston may well be in it....
The upcoming John le Carré adaptation from the team behind The Night Manager already has us completely locked. Michael Shannon? Alexander Skarsgard? Park Chan-wook directing for TV for the first time? I mean, we are very much already in.

But news is reaching us this morning that The Little Drummer Girl may well be getting even bigger. Filming is said to be underway in Leatherhead right now, and apparently a certain actor by the name of Mr Tom Hiddleston has been spotted in the area, looking as dapper as ever.

Marc Wolf’s one-man Off Broadway show took an interesting twist during its transformation into a digital series. For starters, it was originally titled Another American: Asking and Telling. The play, based on Wolf’s interviews with over 150 gay and lesbian military personnel (as well as others) deeply affected by the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy, premiered at the 99 seat DR2 theatre in New York City. In a miraculous twist of fate, one of the theatre patrons was former Disney CEO and Vuguru founder Michael Eisner. He liked the show and left the theatre with the idea of turning Wolf’s work into the digital program that would soon become Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. Adapting a one-man show isn’t a normal occurrence in the web series world, but Vuguru brought in a director and well known creative consultant to turn the play into a multi-platform property.
