To some, Chris Tomlin's accomplishments could best be described as indescribable. At 50 years old, the singer has sold out arenas, received a Grammy and earned Time's title as the "most often sung artist" thanks to his hits being sung in churches around the world. But as the singer prepares to release his new album Always on Sept. 9, Chris says his music remains rooted in his humble beginnings. "I come from a small town in East Texas," Chris exclusively shared with E! News. "Literally 2,500 people in my town with one Dairy Queen and one red light. Now, I live in a small town outside of Nashville. I love to do things with my family. I'm a girl dad and even...

To predict who’s going home with Musical Event of the Year at the 2021 Academy of Country Music Awards, let’s start with who will probably not win. Keith Urban and Pink’s “One Too Many” didn’t make much noise, or at least not as much as the other nominees, so that one is out. Also, this category seems to go for all-country collaborations over pop-country crossovers; songs like “Old Town Road” (by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus) “Meant to Be” (by Florida Georgia Line and Bebe Rexha) and “Setting the World On Fire” (by Kenny Chesney and Pink) have all lost to lower-profile songs despite being huge country hits, probably because of the pop artists they feature. So “Nobody But You” (by Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani) might also be at a disadvantage here.

It’s an old and new approach at this year’s 56th Academy of Country Music Awards. Keith Urban, a 15-time ACM Award winner, will team with New Female Artist of the Year nominee Mickey Guyton as hosts of the April 18 show.
CBS will televise the show from three iconic country music venues: the Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium, and The Bluebird Cafe. The show airs on Sunday, April 18 from 8 Pm to 11 Pm Et live, and delayed for Pacific. It is also available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
Urban returns for his second year after hosting the 55th ACM Awards in September, while this marks Guyton’s first time hosting the ACM Awards. It is the 29th time multiple hosts have taken the ACM Awards stage.

Just a few months after the 2020 Academy of Country Music Awards were delayed to last September due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the 2021 nominees have been announced. Maren Morris and Chris Stapleton lead with six nominations each. They’re followed by Miranda Lambert with five and Ashley McBryde and Thomas Rhett with four. Though those women earned multiple noms, there are zero women up for Entertainer of the Year, which at this point isn’t too surprising for the ACMs. Scroll down for the complete list of nominees, and find out who wins when the awards are handed out on April 18.

Despite a shuffling performer line-up due to multiple positive tests for Covid-19, the Country Music Association Awards were held on Wednesday at an in-person ceremony at Nashville’s Music City Center.
In the days leading up to the ceremony, four acts — Rascal Flatts, the recently renamed Lady A, Florida Georgia Line and “I Hope You’re Happy Now” singer Lee Brice — were forced to pull out from the show after either being exposed to or testing positive for Covid.
But as they say, the show must go on, and the Reba McEntire and Darius Rucker-hosted ceremony went ahead as planned, honoring some of the biggest names in country music.

The Country Music Association’s 54th edition of its annual awards show will look different than all the previous years. For obvious reasons, no audience will be present at Nashville’s Music City Center on November 11th, but artists are still anticipated to be, if not seated together, than at least in the same room. Unlike Record of the Year at the Grammys, Song of the Year is strictly for songwriters, and the rule of thumb usually is, if it’s not a lyrically unique song, an empowerment anthem, a love/breakup song, or a political song, it’s probably not getting a nomination. So with that said, expect Record contenders like “The Box” by Roddy Ricch, “Savage” by Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce, “Dynamite” by BTS, “Say So” by Doja Cat and “Lost In Yesterday” by Tame Impala to miss here. But if not them, who can we expect to find in the race?
The Record of the Year winner often repeats in Song of the Year, so “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd is probably the front-runner for the writing award too. However, could the nomination review committee think the song is too lightweight for Song of the Year? It’s definitely a possibility.

The initial performance lineup for November’s CMA Awards telecast includes Gabby Barrett and Charlie Puth doing a live duet of her crossover hit “I Hope,” presumably for the first time in the same room, since Puth put together the pop radio remix that features his voice after the pandemic began.
But “in the same room” is the operative term and selling point for this year’s CMAs, with producers revealing Thursday morning that this year’s show on ABC would “bring country music’s biggest stars together safely, in one room, for the first time this year.” That emphasis is meant to distinguish the Country Music Association’s telecast from the glut of other recent country awards shows. The long-delayed ACM Awards in September offered a mixture of live and mostly pre-recorded performances from three different Nashville locales, and this month’s CMT Music Awards followed a similarly spread-out,...

That not only makes her the most nominated artist of the year, it makes her the most nominated female artist of all time. The nominations for the 54th CMA Awards are out this morning, and they don’t include country music legend Garth Brooks as a nominee for the Entertainer of the Year award.
That’s because Brooks voluntarily disqualified himself in late July, saying that he’s won too many times — seven, to be exact, including last year’s — and wants to give the opportunity to another artist.
It was a tweet from a fan that steered Brooks to the decision.
“It said, ‘Hey, man. This guy, why doesn’t he just step down (and leave) the entertainer for the next generation?’ 100% agree,” he told press according to The Tennessean. “It’s time for somebody else to hold that award.”
That leaves the possibilities open this year to Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Luke Combs and Eric Church. May the best country star win.

In the game of life, timing really is everything. Chris Tomlin remembers Easter 2019 weekend like it was yesterday. When preparing for his Good Friday Nashville concert event, the Christian singer unexpectedly ran into Thomas Rhett backstage. "We talked about how we love each other's music and maybe we should do something in the future, connect and write songs," Chris exclusively recalled to E! News. "A friendship started there." Soon after, Chris was on a family vacation in Florida when he walked into a gym to find Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard working out. A conversation soon followed with Tyler praising the singer for his hits that he listened to since 8th...

As a way to mark his 30th birthday on March 30th and acknowledge the fear of the Covid-19 pandemic, Thomas Rhett has released the all-star collaboration “Be a Light.” The “Look What God Gave Her” singer is joined on the uplifting track by Keith Urban, Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott, and Chris Tomlin.
Built around a strummed acoustic guitar pattern, the song — penned by Rhett with Josh Miller, Josh Thompson, and Matt Dragstrem — conveys an urgent message of radiating hope and positivity in the darkest of times. “Don’t hide in the dark,...

Back when people actually bought albums, Christmas releases were reliable money-makers for popular acts: cheap to put together, with demand baked in by the season. The limited repertoire — Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” aside, great, or even simply popular, original Christmas songs are a rarity in the past four decades — and seasonally appropriate level of sentiment meant these albums were a scourge for some listeners. But for fans of the genre, they were a source of comfort, and for those in the music industry, a rare easy win.

It’s interesting in the world of music to see who listens to what and who avoids certain genres like the plague. Chris Tomlin is a Christian music artist and from a young has been devoted to the word of God and all His teachings. He’s been particularly skilled at bringing that word to others through music, which seems to be a much more dynamic and entertaining way at times since it touches people in a very different way and allows them to feel his devotion and passion for the teachings of God on a level that goes a bit beyond

While Halsey is happy for her American Music Awards nomination, she's taking note of the fact that she's one of the only women who got one.
The largest fan-voted awards show unveiled its 2017 nominee list on Thursday, which was led by Bruno Mars with eight nominations, and followed by a four-way tie for second place, with Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran and The Chainsmokers getting five nods each.
However, what got the attention of many on social media, including singer Halsey -- who was nominated with The Chainsmokers for Collaboration of the Year and Favorite Pop/Rock Song -- is the large gender gap present on the nominees list. Apart from the categories specifically designated for female artists in fact, the overwhelming majority of the categories have no female nominees at all. Additionally, every act nominated for Artist of the Year is a man.
