Getting your first feature film off the ground is no easy feat, but that task is made a bit easier when your friends include people like Rob Riggle, James Pumphrey, Lizzy Caplan, Abby Elliot, Joe LoTruglio, Rich Fulcher, Horatio Sanz, Dylan Obrien, Zach Woods, Matt Jones, Ed Helms and Kyle Gass. For actor and now director Matt Walsh, those are the stars he brought on board for his directorial debut, the improv comedy "High Road." Beady Eye have announced the title and tracklisting of their debut album. Liam Gallagher's post-Oasis group release their first record Different Gear, Still Speeding on February 28, 2011. The album was recorded at Rak Studios with producer Steve Lillywhite. Beady Eye, featuring Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock plus live members Matt Jones and Jeff Wootton, play their first UK tour the following month. Liam Gallagher's band Beady Eye have announced their first UK live shows. The group, formed by Gallagher with his ex-Oasis bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock, will be joined next spring by Matt Jones on keyboards and Jeff Wootton on bass to play songs from their as-yet-untitled debut album. Yesterday we reported on the Newspaper Club, who swept the recent Brit Insurance Design Awards with their masterful recapturing of a low-tech medium. We also hinted that they'd be bringing their newsprint ways to SXSW this week in order to hype their new newspaper-making tool Arthr. But little did we know that the Newspaper Club was holding top secret meetings with a band of collaborators and actually produced a newspaper at and about the conference, which was printed on an honest-to-goodness printing press last night. I got my hands on one of the first copies.
Writers and designers were tapped by Ben Terrett (above) of the Newspaper Club to help collaborate on the special SXSW-focused edition. Articles rolled in from writers like Bobbie Johnson (the cheeky "Newspapers are always in beta"), Clay Shirky, Matt Jones, and Dan Hill. Additional reporting was done at SXSW. Next, Jesse Metcalfe will co-star on NBC's drama pilot "Chase" and Matt Jones will star opposite Gary Cole on TBS' pilot "Uncle Nigel." Eamonn Walker has joined ABC's drama pilot "The Whole Truth." "Mr. Sunshine" from Sony TV Perry stars as the manager of an aging San Diego stadium who, on his fortieth birthday, comes to realize that he can no longer get by on just his charming, noncommittal ways. Anders is in as the cute tomboy Alice. Torrence's character is the clumsy son of Ben's boss (Allison Janney).
