Amber Anderson, Greta Bellamacina and Tamsin Egerton can be seen bonding in wedding dresses alongside co-stars Jessica Plummer, Josette Simon and Bebe Cave in first look images from upcoming feature “Tell That to the Winter Sea.”
Anderson (“Peaky Blinders”) and Bellamacina (“This England”) star in the film as Scarlett and Jo, two teenage dance students whose intense friendship blossoms into a romantic one before running its course. But when the duo reconvene decades later on the eve of Jo’s wedding – to a man – it turns out deep feelings still remain.
In another scene from the film, which was directed by Jacyln Bethany, the group, still clad in wedding dresses, enjoy a candle-lit dinner.
Meanwhile Jo and Scarlett’s relationship is also explored in flashback sequences, one of which sees a brunette Bellamacina holding hands with Anderson, both wearing their school uniforms.

"Managing your attention effectively is key. The aim is to achieve a laser focus..." Now this is something different. Merger is a 360-degree sci-fi short film (meaning you can interact / move the camera as it plays) made by by London-based designer and architect Keiichi Matsuda, who was also behind the trippy short film Hyper-Reality. "Set against the backdrop of AI-run corporations, a tele-operator finds herself caught between virtual and physical reality, human and machine. As she fights for her economic survival, she finds herself immersed in the cult of productivity, in search of the ultimate interface. This short film documents her last 4 minutes on earth." Starring Sarah Winter. I wanted to feature this short because it's so unique and cool and thought-provoking, not only technically but narratively about what our future might look like. Thanks to The Verge for the tip on this. Description from Vimeo: "With automation disrupting centuries-old industries,...

"What I don't understand, is why anyone would buy a record sung by ten hairy-ass fisherman?" Ent. Film Distributors in the UK has debuted an official trailer for a dramedy titled Fisherman's Friends, based on the true story of a group of traditional folk singers from Cornwall. It's about a music exec from London who travels up to Cornwall in hopes of signing them, only to discover a group of shanty singing fishermen who aren't interested in fame and fortune. "As he's drawn deeper into the traditional way of life he's forced to re-evaluate his own integrity and ultimately question what success really means." In the real world, they went on to release a few albums that became huge UK hits anyway. Fisherman's Friends stars James Purefoy, Tuppence Middleton, Christian Brassington, Daniel Mays, David Hayman, Noel Clarke, Sarah Winter, Maggie Steed, and Christopher Villiers. Looks like a bunch of "shanty singing fishermen" fun.

At January’s Television Critic’s Association (TCA) Winter Press Tour, I sat down with the stars of NBC’s American Odyssey (then called Odyssey), to chat about the character-driven drama. Peter Facinelli shared what drives his character, also named Peter. Below is our conversation, edited slightly for clarity. Is this the first time you’re playing a character named Peter? It is! Ironically, the actress playing my wife is Sarah Winter, and her character’s name is Sarah in the show. It’s very easy on set to be called by your character name. In American Odyssey, what drives Peter, your character? When I sat down to … Continue reading →

We had a feeling that An Adventure in Space and Time would be aired over the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who celebration weekend, but the exact day and time were still to be specified. We have confirmation of that now, November 22nd at 9/8c on BBC America. Wouldn’t want to miss it. Here’s the official press release.

What do you get when you mix C.S. Lewis with H.G. Wells, and sprinkle in a bit of Father Christmas? An alien Time Lord exploring space and time in a Police Box spaceship called the “Tardis” (Time And Relative Dimension in Space). On November 23, 1963, a television legend began when the very first episode of Doctor Who was broadcast on BBC One.
