As part of the campaign to coincide with today's release of "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosuars" on home video, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is hosting the grand opening of the Santa Monica ice rink Ice, 1324 Fifth St. Along with the rink's first day of business is Fox's attempt to break the world record for tallest ice sculpture.
A group of 14 artists from Ice Bulb LLC have been working to carve a sculpture in the likeness of "Ice Age" character Scrat. The carving is comprised of more than 133,000 pounds of ice and has been designed over the course of months by Blue Sky Studios. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the tallest ice sculpture, by creating one in the shape of the "Ice Age" character Scrat to correspond with the release of the Blu-ray DVD version of "Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs."
