"I just got here now." Sizzle Snap Productions has released an official trailer for a horror short film titled Hunter's Cabin, the latest from South African producer-turned-filmmaker N'Cee Van Heerden. This is his second short following I.O. a few years ago, and before that he worked as a field producer on almost all of Neill Blomkamp's South African films. Now he's based in Vancouver, BC (same as Neill Blomkamp) and has moved into directing his own films. Hunter's Cabin follows a young father who withdraws to a remote cabin to face his curse alone. But he’s not the only one with a dark past in the woods that night. Starring Jedidiah Goodacre, Toby Hargrave, and Sam Spear. This is quite an entrancing tease. No idea when this short film will end up online, but we'll definitely keep an eye out and let you know when it debuts.

Throughout the course of its thirteen seasons, Supernatural has introduced no shortage of memorable characters to orbit Sam and Dean Winchester. And while not all of them may enjoy the perks that come with being granted a spinoff show to call their own, there are those whom we simply can’t imagine the series without.
Of course, names such as Castiel and Lucifer immediately come to mind – who were introduced in seasons 4 and 5, respectively – but a somewhat recent addition whom many of us couldn’t help but fall in love with was that of Rowena, the scarlet-haired witch played by Ruth Connell. And since her debut in season 10, Ruth has shown us that even if you’re playing a villain (though she’s been a bit ambiguous at times), you’ll accrue a generous fan base if you do your job well enough.
Now, if you’re current on the series,...

Those are just a few of the sounds the TVLine staff made while narrowing down the choices for the year’s grossest, most unsettling, forever disturbing moments from TV shows. And because antipathy loves company, we’re sharing those scenes with you!
All of the incidents captured in the gallery above took place in the past 12 months and made us do everything from cringe to cry out in horror — despite the fact that they aired during our favorite shows.

The Supernatural winter finale was a tense one for Sam and Dean as they searched for Jack (and their mother) only to be met with ultimate disappointment on both fronts. Rather than reuniting with Mary or sticking with Jack, Sam and Dean were sent to some alien world where dinosaurs seemingly still roam the earth. Meanwhile, Jack and Mary were stuck in the apocalypse world that was introduced in the season 12 finale. The situation is far from ideal for Sam and Dean but it's one that should benefit the audience because Supernatural truly needs to embrace the multiverse concept in season 13.

Supernatural entered its mid-season finale with a lot of balls in the air. Castiel and Lucifer are trapped by Asmodeus in Hell. Jack was missing, and Mary was still trapped in this alternate universe where Sam and Dean Winchester don’t exist. Not to mention Mr. Ketch is still at large. Anyhow, not all of these balls have fallen from the air to the ground in “The Bad Place”, but several of them do. They also sow a few more seeds in preparation for Wayward Sisters, the upcoming spin-off, but in a way that feels truly natural and organic, unlike the previous spin-off attempt.

The mid-season finale of Supernatural is always a good time to put the Winchesters in a precarious predicament. Last year the boys were arrested for attempting to assassinate the President. The year before Sam found himself trapped in the Cage in Hell with Lucifer. For season 13, an attempt to find Mary Winchesters finds the main characters spread across multiple dimensions. Yes, the multiverse is real.

It’s no secret that I enjoy a good episode of Supernatural. I love serious episodes and all the issues that the show deals with. I love the intensity that it brings to certain stories, and I love being genuinely terrified by a good scary story. But for me, when Supernatural is at its absolute best is when it tells a story of a paranormal creature being hunted, and makes me laugh while doing it. The funniest episodes are the best episodes, and “Tombstone” was hysterical. Don’t get me wrong. Watching the journey of “Team Free Will 2.0” has been fascinating so far. Watching Sam

Advanced Thanatology starts off on a light note, with Sam doing things to make Dean happy. After all the troubles Dean has been through, Sam tries to make things easier on his big brother, which leads to some overindulgence and a hangover-fueled continental breakfast. There's all these amusing little moments between them that can get lost if you're not paying attention. One such moment is when Sam is talking to Dean outside the hotel, and Dean walks away and impatiently waves his arms in front of a not-automatic door. Might seem trivial, but that gesture says a lot more about what Dean is feeling than by what he tells his brother.

A great way to really make a Supernatural episode feel like the days of old is putting Sam and Dean alone together on a case, hunting a good old fashioned ghost. Dean has been dealing with a lot of emotional stress, so Sam tries to help him by bringing him a case that they can work just the two of them, like the Supernatural heyday. It had all the makings of a classic episode, with a regular hunt and a story that played into the larger mythology. We even got a visit from an old friend. As a regular, hunt focused episode, “Advanced Thanatology”

Castiel is finally back on Supernatural ... sort of. "The Big Empty" made a big stride towards Castiel reuniting with Sam and Dean (and his foster son Jack) as Castiel was whisked away from the episode's namesake, the void where angels go when they die, to the real world. Castiel is alive and was "resurrected" in a similar field to Dean's grave from season 4. As exciting as it is to have Cas back, the more exciting development of "The Big Empty" was one of the new characters, the unnamed ruler of the Empty. The character made quite an impression and hopefully the episode was just the first appearance of many.

Things are getting to a boiling point between the brothers and Jack, so it was about time for a little self-help. Meanwhile, Cass finds himself in a weird plane of nothing, but he’s not exactly alone.

Becoming the surrogate parents to Lucifer's son is awkward for Sam and Dean on Supernatural. In the second episode of season 13 we saw a lot of Dean and Jack interactions, with Jack imitating him while Dean threatened to kill him. Now it's Sam's turn to play dad while Dean is out on a case with Sheriff Jody Mills that involves the granddaughter of psychic Missouri Moseley.

Supernatural‘s Dean may have more in common with Lucifer’s offspring Jack than the hunter would like to admit, and we’re not talking about both fellas’ penchant for devouring their food.
Although the elder Winchester would like nothing more than to wipe Satan’s spawn off the face of Earth, the two share “the commonality of loss,” notes new series regular Alexander Calvert, who plays Jack. After all, Dean recently lost his mom Mary and his friend Castiel, while Jack never even had the chance to get to know his chosen father Cas before he died. “That’s...

We’re now in week 2 of Season 13 of Supernatural, and we’ve now closed most of the loose ends (I say most because…still no Cas!) and “The Rising Son” has established the new status quo. Now that fans have a good idea what this season (or at least this arc) will look like, the mythology can settle in, fan-favorite characters can return, and new, interesting dynamics can be set up. I find the dynamic of Sam and Dean as two parents with opposite viewpoints really interesting, mostly because it’s so true to character. Dean has always been a “kill it

Supernatural is usually about good vs. evil, but this season is about nature vs. nurture. Sam and Dean have essentially become the surrogate parents to Jack, Lucifer's son, and their struggle I whether Jack will destroy the world or if he can possibly help save it. In "The Rising Son," we start to learn a bit more about Jack's powers and there may even be some hope for his relationship with Dean.
