Louis Lipstone was born on 5 June 1892 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Louis is known for Heritage of the Desert (1939). Louis died on 18 March 1954 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Succeeded Boris Morros as head of Paramount's music department. Unlike Morros (who usually conducted scores at recording sessions) Lipstone never took a screen credit for his executive position and never conducted. His musical taste was conservative and he disliked music that sounded modernistic. He dismissed George Antheil from scoring Union Pacific (1939) and also disliked some of the music Miklós Rózsa wrote at Paramount.
