When Foxtel executives first saw Deadline Gallipoli, they were so impressed with the performance of Joel Jackson they made a highly unusual deal with the young actor and his agent.
A 2013 Nida graduate, Jackson makes his screen debut as Charles Bean, one of the three war correspondents at the centre of the miniseries.
Foxtel executive director of television Brian Walsh and head of drama Penny Win wanted to ensure Deadline Gallipoli will be the first time Australians see the 24-year-old Jackson on screen.
So they made a financial arrangement with the actor.s agent Mark Morrissey of Morrissey Management that if he took jobs in other shows, none would go to air before Deadline Gallipoli premieres on showcase in April.

Julian McMahon has re-signed with his former reps. The Nip/Tuck star has just inked with WMA and ROAR after having been most recently at CAA and 3 Arts.
At WMA, he follows Louise Ward, his former agent at Innovative Artists, who will be part of the team that reps him at the agency. At ROAR, McMahon joins a team of managers that includes his former manager Will Ward.
McMahon returned to production this week for the sixth season of FX's "Nip/Tuck"; his role as Dr. Christian Troy earned him a Golden Globe nomination in 2005. The actor, who most recently appeared on the big screen in the feature Premonition, also is known for his role as Dr. Doom in the Fantastic Four films.

Agent Louise Ward has left Innovative Artists and has joined WMA in the talent department. She brings with her a roster that includes "Step Up" star Channing Tatum. Ward began her representation career at Limelight, a Los Angeles production company handling commercial and video directors. She was an agent trainee under Jeff Berg at ICM and Jay Moloney at CAA. Ward later joined Bymel O'Neill Artists Management, which has since been renamed Management 360. Her client list includes Cobie Smulders ("How I Met Your Mother"), Alex Frost ("Elephant", "Drillbit Taylor") and Michele Hicks ("The Shield").
