On September 21, 2007, Swift launched a campaign to protect children from online predators. Swift has teamed up with Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen to combat internet sex crimes.
Swift donated $100,000 to the Red Cross in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to help the victims of the Iowa flood of 2008.
She showed her support to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal by joining the lineup at Sydney’s Sound Relief concert.

Even U.S. President Joe Biden is talking about pop star Taylor Swift. Frankly speaking, who isn’t. Biden made light of the conspiracy theory that he and Swift are working together. During an appearance on a late-night show, the President had a readily available answer to the question of whether or not the Blank Space singer will endorse him in 2024.
There have been conspiracies that Taylor Swift may endorse the current U.S. President Joe Biden in the upcoming elections. When asked about it during an interview, Biden did not hesitate once before answering.

Former President Donald Trump reportedly bragged to aides that he is more popular than Taylor Swift after intense speculation by right-wing commentators that she is going to endorse President Joe Biden this year.
Swift has not issued an endorsement to any of the 2024 election candidates but endorsed Biden in 2020.
The singer made her endorsement by posting on social media a photo of a platter of homemade “Biden 2020” cookies.
Biden’s aides are hoping to sign her on as a campaign surrogate.
Some conservative commentators have floated conspiracy theories that the NFL season was rigged to offer a Super Bowl platform for the singer alongside her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, the tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs.
An adviser close to Trump told Rolling Stone magazine that the former president’s allies are getting ready for a “holy war” against Swift.

Taylor Swift has allowed a super Pac fronted by California Democratic representative Eric Swalwell to use her song “Only the Young” in a new political ad.
The spot from Remedy Pac is aimed at boosting voter turnout, especially among young people, and opens with a quote from vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris, wondering why so many powerful people are making it so difficult to vote. The rest of the ad boasts a montage of chaotic and hopeful scenes from the past four years, soundtracked by 2020’s “Only the Young,” from Swift’s documentary Miss Americana.

Taylor Swift is voting for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and running mate Kamala Harris on November 3rd. On Wednesday ahead of the vice presidential debate, V Magazine shared an article featuring the pop star, which appears in its Thought Leaders issue.
“The change we need most is to elect a president who recognizes that people of color deserve to feel safe and represented, that women deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and that the Lgbtqia+ community deserves to be acknowledged and included,” Swift told V Magazine.

While by no means a tell-all, Miss Americana, Taylor Swift's new Netflix documentary, opens up on topics the musician has long kept private, from her relationship with Joe Alwyn to her eating disorder. It's a political project as well, showcasing her growing commitment to speaking out against injustice. But as a long-time Swiftie who's excited about her political awakening, one moment in the documentary worried me: Taylor's confession about her aging stardom, particularly her acceptance that she probably doesn't have much time left as an artist. She seemingly nails down this message with "Only the Young," her new anthem about the power of the youth to enact change - to "run."

There were only two men on the crew for Taylor Swift documentary Miss Americana — and one was an assistant. “I always have a male production assistant because I feel like it’s important to show that men can get coffee for women,” director Lana Wilson tells Rolling Stone.
“I’ve usually worked with an all-female crew; there are a lot of great female directors of photography and sound mixers who I want to work with,” she adds. “I think it allows for this extra level of intimacy and comfort.”

“It’s all just fucking impossible.” So says Taylor Swift, in reference to being a young female in show business. Being too bold draws this criticism, too safe draws that criticism. It’s one of a few observations that make this documentary more compelling than its straightforward structure would suggest. Miss Americana, directed by Lana Wilson, is framed like a confessional from the pop star who has been famous for more than half of her young life. Only recently thirty years old, Swift is front-and-center for the majority of the film, speaking openly about her stratospheric success and the hardships that followed.
There is something brave about making a documentary dissecting how hard it is to achieve all of your dreams, considering the vast majority of your audience are people who will never attain their own. Wilson captures Swift in moments of genuine (?) vulnerability. Consider a scene where she gets...

Our wildest dreams just came true! On Tuesday, Taylor Swift revealed that her upcoming Netflix documentary Taylor Swift: Miss Americana will feature the unheard song "Only the Young," making us officially too excited for its January 31 release on the popular streaming service. Speaking with Variety ahead of the "raw and emotionally revealing" documentary's Sundance Film Festival premiere on January 22, the "Me!" singer explained that the 2018 midterm elections actually inspired the track. After she watched the candidates she had endorsed (former Gov. Phil Bredesen and Jim Cooper from her home state of Tennessee) fall out of the race, Swift did what she does best and...

“Not a shot. Not a single chance. Not a snowball’s chance in hell.”
Taylor Swift — who, at 30, has reached a Zen state of cheerful realism — laughs as she leans into a pillow she’s placed over her crossed legs inside her suite at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, leaning further still into her infinitesimal odds of winning a Golden Globe, which will zero out when she heads down to the televised ball in a few hours.
Never mind whether or not the tune she co-wrote, “Beautiful Ghosts,” might actually have been worthy of a trophy for best original song. Since the Globe nominations were revealed, voters could hardly have been immune to how quickly the film it’s a part of, “Cats,” in which she also co-stars, became a whipping boy for jokes about costly Hollywood miscalculations and creative disasters. Not that you’ll hear Swift utter a discouraging word about it all.

Taylor Swift’s association with disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein was among the topics the singer addressed in a revealing new interview with The Guardian. Weinstein held producer credits for the movies “One Chance” and “The Giver,” both of which featured Swift — in the former, a song, and in the latter, a supporting role. She also attended the premiere for “The Giver” (pictured above with Weinstein and Katie Holmes) in 2014.
Asked if she ever spent time with Weinstein alone, Swift said no and downplayed her interactions with him. Swift is described as “dispassionately” recounting: “He’d call my management and be like, ‘Does she have a song for this film?’ And I’d be like, ‘Here it is.’” Swift added that she would “get a vibe” from Weinstein and “would never vouch for him” and described his conduct as “a power thing.”

Taylor Swift is making her support of the Lgbtq+ community known at the start of Pride Month! On Friday, the 29-year-old singer shared a lengthy letter written to Tennessee senator Lamar Alexander. In the message, Taylor - who has lived in the southern state since she was 14 - advocates for passing the Equality Act, which would shield Lgbtq+ members from discrimination in the workplace, schools, and other forums. The bill has already passed through the House and will go before the Senate.
"I hope we can all put aside partisan affiliations when it comes to matters of basic human rights," Taylor wrote. She also notes that protecting those human rights will also lead to more jobs in the state as multiple major companies, such as Amazon, Hilton, and Ikea have opposed anti-Lgbtq sentiments and feel it would "negatively affect their ability to do business in Tennessee."

The WGA West’s political action committee had a strong midterm election night, helping to flip the House of Representatives. Twenty-six of the 31 candidates it endorsed – all Democrats – were elected, including 18 of the 19 House candidates it backed, and nine of its 14 senatorial picks.
Most of the candidates it supported were incumbents, but the union also backed two candidates who defeated incumbent Republicans: Jackie Rosen, who unseated Nevada Sen. Dean Heller, and Harley Rouda, who ousted longtime Southern California Rep. Dana Rohrabacher and helped give the Democrats control of the House.
The guild’s Pac, which backed up its endorsements with more than $200,000 in campaign contributions, also supported winning senators Dianne Feinstein, Elizabeth Warren, Jon Tester, Tammy Baldwin, Sherrod Brown, Maria Cantwell and Amy Klobuchar along with Bernie Sanders, an independent who caucuses with the Dems. Taylor Swift has finally broken her political silence, and it couldn't have come at a better time.
The "Delicate" singer's decision to keep her political opinions to herself over the last few years has earned her plenty of criticism, especially since she hinged much of her 1989 album and tour around the tenets of feminism and girl power but declined to speak out in support of presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. Many took her silence as support of Republican candidate and noted racist and misogynist Donald Trump. That notion only continued when white nationalist groups voiced their love of Taylor, anointing her an "Aryan goddess" and (falsely) claiming she held similar values. Rather than publicly denouncing them, her camp chose to sue.
But with the midterm elections coming up in Tennessee, where she's registered to vote, the 28-year-old decided to share a rare post to social media about who she plans on...

Taylor Swift made history tonight at the American Music Awards, earning the most Ama wins ever by a female artist — but she also did something she has never done before: talk about politics during an awards acceptance speech.
When Swift won for Artist of the Year during the ceremony she took the opportunity to use her time to encourage the audience and her fans to get politically motivated.
“Every single time this happens it represents encouragement and motivation for me to be better, work harder, and try and make you guys proud,” said Swift in her acceptance speech. “[I want to] mention the fact that this award, and every single award given out tonight, were voted on by the people. Donald Trump remarked on Taylor Swift‘s decision to endorse Democratic candidates in Tennessee, a move that ended the singer’s long apolitical stance.
On Sunday, Swift voiced her support for Democratic senatorial candidate Phil Bredesen in his Election Day battle against Republican candidate Marsha Blackburn, who Swift said “appalls and terrifies me.” Both Bredesen and Blackburn are vying for the Senate seat vacated by Bob Corker.
The president fielded a question on Swift’s stance upon his return to the White House Monday. “I’m sure Taylor Swift doesn...

Taylor Swift — who started her career in country music three years after the Dixie Chicks were driven off airwaves for taking a stand against the Iraq invasion — has always been careful not to talk politics. Until now, that is. In an Instagram post on Sunday, Swift disclosed that she would be voting in Tennessee in November for two Democrats: former governor-turned-Senate hopeful Phil Bredesen and Rep. Jim Cooper, whose district includes Nashville.

On Monday, the set of “Fox & Friends” debated Taylor Swift’s unusual decision over the weekend to wade into politics, breaking a longstanding practice of avoiding such matters.
Turning Point USA chief Charlie Kirk told viewers that he was convinced Swift didn’t write her much-discussed pro-Democrat Instagram post herself.
“It’s rather evident and clear that — I don’t want to accuse her of this — but I don’t think she’s the only one who wrote that post on Instagram. She probably got some very bad information,” Kirk said during a one-on-one interview with c0-host Steve Doocy.

When Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit performed at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles last month, the Americana singer-songwriter sat for an interview prior to the gig with Pod Save America co-host Tommy Vietor. A former spokesperson for President Obama, Vietor is also a passionate Isbell fan and caught up with the Nashville-based artist to discuss everything from the lack of empathy affecting the United States to why the Dixie Chicks got a raw deal. He also recalls how he once — unknowingly — performed a private gig with Texas Republican senator Ted Cruz in attendance.

While mainstream country music in the Trump era has begun to wade quietly into the realm of resistance politics — Little Big Town showing up at the March for Our Lives rally, Cam’s support for the Women’s March and artists departing en masse from their relationships with NRA Country — most have stopped short of openly supporting a candidate. Enter Brothers Osborne, one of Music Row’s most politically vocal acts. The Cma Award-winning duo will appear and perform at a Nashville fundraiser on September 18th for Tennessee Democratic gubernatorial candidate Karl Dean,...

Washington — A new radio ad from the National Republican Senate Committee targets Sen. Jon Tester (D-Montana) for remaining “silent for days” over a Pearl Jam poster that featured an image of a dead corpse of President Donald Trump in front of the White House.
The poster was promoting an Aug. 13 get-out-the-vote concert in Missoula. Tester’s campaign offered ticket packages to the concert and a reception the day before with the senator and Jeff Ament, Pearl Jam bassist.
The ad, which was released on Thursday, states that “a vote for Tester is a vote to put liberal Democrats in control, where they’ll work to impeach President Trump. But for the radical far-left, impeachment isn’t enough. Celebrities have talked about killing the president or blowing up the White House. Now, a rock band comes to Montana, throws a concert to support Tester – and promotes it using a vulgar, despicable...

“I was thinking today about how it feels to be an unhinged leftist,” quipped Jason Isbell two songs into a solo acoustic performance early Monday evening in Nashville, a short-notice but instantly sold-out rally for Democrat Tennessee senate candidate Phil Bredesen. Referencing shots fired earlier that day at left-leaning entertainers by the National Republican Senatorial Committee (Nrsc) — who, in an official statement, called out Isbell and co-headliner Ben Folds by name as members of the “unhinged left” — the outspoken country firebrand went on. “For the first time in my life I’m hinged.

Washington — The National Republican Senate Committee is again trying to turn Democrats’ overwhelming support among entertainers into a negative, this time tying Tennessee Senate candidate Phil Bredesen to past remarks made by Jason Isbell, as well as Ben Folds’ support for Bernie Sanders.
Isbell and Folds are scheduled to headline a concert for Bredesen in Nashville on Monday.
The Nrsc put out a press release headlined “Phony Phil partners with the unhinged left.” It notes that Folds “proudly supported” Sanders in 2016, and that Isbell criticized Christian Trump voters, saying, “God is gone from those people.”
Isbell made the comment in an interview with Rolling Stone Country. In context, he said, “I could see how a lot of conservative right-wing Christian Americans would vote for someone like Mitt Romney, who seems like a stand-up guy. But Trump is obviously not a good Christian person. I think the fact that so many...
